Doctors Willing To Prescribe Pain Medication In Louisiana (Page 3)
UpdatedI need to find a Dr. To write a Rx. For hydrocodin for chronic back pain, where can I find one in Southern Louisiana?
I have been on xanax for 12 years. In 2004 I was in a very tragic motorcycle accident and was placed on hydromorphone 4mg and eventually raised to the 8 mg. My pain level is fine, but my problem is I have been on the xanax so long I don't sleep very well. They did use to help my anxiety attacks as well as my rest. I was placed on the xanax due to the death of my daughter. I have tried several times to come off of them , but ended up in the hospital with seizures. My friend just introduced me to over the counter sleep aids, but I want to make sure it it alright to take with the xanax and diluadid. I might sleep 2 hours at the most at night. I have googled and it says the same, but gives no drug interactions. Can I get some help with this matter please? It would be much appreciated.
Susan I am fighting the system today BUT DO NOT believe this for a minute! The FDA does not analyze OTC medications or natural herbs many of which can cause death. You need to work closely with your physician immediately to get resolution. Do not take risks.
Susan also your injury pain might have progressed and clearly your physical tolerance to medication does increase. I due to Central Pain Syndrome and systemic RSD have lost REMS sleep it is gone forever. If I sleep an hour or two that is good. It is time to see if you need upward titrations of medication.
I too lost a daughter 3 years ago my prayers are with you sister.
I'm looking for a doctor to prescribe hydrocodone for pain relief. I have psoriatic arthritis, DDD, CHF. I'm in east texas. Close to nacogdouches, tx.
A pain doctor in southern Indiana that writes scripts instead of pain shots
Need doctor to prescribe Vicodin between Everett Wa. and Seattle, wa
Guys this post is segregated to Louisiana. I see other posters from around America.
There is a general post for someone asking for Vicodin that is more oriented to different areas.
Hope to see you there.

Good luck on finding a doctor any where from middle Louisiania to southern Louisiania to write scripts for pain meds no matter how bad your pain is! Unless they send you to pain management doctors who in turn send you to a number of other doctors who btw are not the doctors that will help you either. I went through this for 5 long months just wanting to just give up every day, so if you have please let me know and if you haven't good luck. I have really tried to find one and the state will not let you nor will it let your regular doctor help you for more than 3 to 4 months.
juanita, you do need medical records to prove that you have a reason to need the pain meds. If you don't have this or in some cases if it is too old a pain dr may not treat you untili their is medically documented proof. They can't go by just what you tell them.
Juanita,
You have not described what is wrong with you. Is your chronic pain less than a year?
Do you have structural difficulties for example nerve root compression and ruptured discs?
Do you have RSD or arachnoiditis.
There are multiple posters here who are seeing physicians in Louisiana who are being prescribed opioids. Perhaps what you are giving physicians as far as "pain" is not accurate.
Please describe what is wrong.

Hi Ski, I read your post and I'll tell you how I did it but this should work for anyone. I mostly recommend an addictionologist or MD to help you but if you are strapped for money or doctor phobic this is what I did. If you are addicted which sounds like you are, find some AA or NA meetings to go to while doing this. I like the AA meetings better. So do most of the addicts I know too. Remember that this regiment was good for me but may not work for you. I don't know how much you are on but I was on 2 x 8 mg per day. 16mg. total. I suggest you get the strips if you can. If you have pills, a pill cutter. I would cut my strips/pills into quarters. Every 2 days I would take a quarter of a strip LESS than the prescribed amount. Get a ruler if you can't tell by looking. If you want to stretch it out more, say, every three or 4 days remove 1 quarter of a strip should work too. It might help to get on an antidepressant (non narcotic) too but you will have to go to the doctor for that. I was on 10 mg./day Lexapro. Finally you will get to a quarter of a strip a day if all works ok. I stayed on a quarter for about 2 weeks then halved the quarter for about a week or two. I was completely off of it for 6 months but decided I could not deal with my pain so I got on a much lower dose with the help of inj's and only take it if I NEED it. If you are not in pain, just quit completely. If this does not work for you, please get yourself some professional help. Good luck.
Kathleen,
Did you find a physician yet? I'll be out of pocket tomorrow but checking in and know you have legitimate diagnoses.
Are you willing to go into Big H for help?
Mike,
That doctor is an ortho surgeon, he is not likely writing long term pain medication.
Where is dr Troy located? And what is his whole name?
Marie, I know a doctor that WILL write and another one I've heard of that will. The doctor that I go to is Dr. Ehlenberger at the Accurate Cinic in Kenner, La. on Veterans Blvd. The doctor I've heard about is Dr. Boucadray but I have no further info on him. But I"m sure you can look him up.
nicole, Dr. Troy Beaucoudray is a Neurologist and is located in Metairie, LA.
Marie, if you go to Dr. Ehlenberger would you please let me know so I could get credit for a referral? I'd appreciate it.
yes I have had two back surgery's and was told the only thing left is to fuse my back from my neck to my bottom I have a lot of nerve damage as well it's to the point I can hardly move very much without so much pain I don't want to move around. But I have a 4 year old granddaughter that I keep while her parents work so please help me.
juanita, regular drs can write prescriptions for chronic pain patients for as long as they chose to, although many refer you to pain management. It has nothing to do with the state, it is up to each PCP how they want to handle their chronic pain patients. I don't understand what you mean about the pain drs sending you to other drs, unless it was to have updated tests. It sounds like you may not have medical evidence that proves your pain could be severe enough for you to need opiates.
yes BL I had all of the medical records I even had another MRI ran for the pain management doctor I went to him for 5 months and for all 5 months he still would do nothing except send me to a psychiatrist which I went to and he ran all the test that pain management asked for and sent the report back to the pain management clinic I did everything they asked me to and all of the 5 months they did nothing! So I got tired of giving them money every month for nothing.
