Doctors Willing To Prescribe Pain Medication In Las Vegas Nv (Page 5) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have mouth cancer that is very painfull and have been taking opioids/pain meds for many years. My tolerance is extremely high, so to have the meds actually work on the pain i'm needing a lot more than most. Just a guide of what i thank would help me and my history with pain meds: About 360 roxys 30mg, 180-240 lortabs 10mg, 90 morphine er mg, 150 xanax 2mgs, and 180 somas, which is not a lot to me. Is there any Dr. in las vegas, NV willing to write like this any more? #CANCER PAIN IN VEGAS
Re: David Pain (# 242)
Try dr anne kristensen. She is a gp. But will write pain pills for special cases. She is awesome. She will also help ypu find a pain mgmt doc if needed
Re: Gina (# 261)
She is my doctor and does write my scripts for the pain pills, the problem i am having is the pharmacy has stated they will no longer fill these scripts unless they are written by a pain management doctor. So, i am trying to find a pharmacy that will just fill the scripts and not give me a hard time. It is stupid that a pharmacy can essentially revoke a doctors DEA license.
Pharmacists can only refuse to fill a valid prescription if there is a serious medication interaction. Or they truly believe that filling the script would cause the customer serious harm. Yet, this same pharmacy has filled these exact scripts for 5 years with no changes in quantity or dosage....so obviously, they can't claim the fear of serious harm. All of this crap we are being put thru is ridiculous. I don't like being forced to go to a pain mgmt doctor when my scripts and my pain pill regiment is working fine and i am functioning better now than anytime since before my last surgery in 2010.
On top of all the stupid requirements on who it is that writes the scripts etc, the pharmacy and the pain mgmt doctors are all saying the same lies. "The CDC and DEA have new guidelines and limit the quantity and dosage patients can be prescribed. DR K referred me to 1 pain mgmt doc and he told me that i would go down to 90 mg a day total and no more and then told me its the law"
1. CDC IS NOT A LEGISLATIVE BODY
2. CDC CAN'T WRITE LAWS
3. CDC CAN'T ENFORCE LAWS
4. WHAT THE CDC WROTE WAS A GUIDELINE, AND NEVER MEANT TO BE APPLIED TO CHRONIC PAIN
5. DEA IS NOT A LEGISLATIVE BODY
6. DEA CANNOT WRITE LAWS
7. THERE ARE NO LAWS LIMITING THE QUANTITY NOR DOSAGE A DOCTOR CAN WRITE
SO, THEY ARE ALL LYING AND TREATING US LIKE WE ARE STUPID.
Every time i am told something about my VALID PRESCRIPTIONS, I FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE PHARMACY....there is a website that you can go to and file the complaint in 1 place and it will be investigated. The only way we are going to get the pain medication most of us need is to not take their crap, not accept their lies, and take action when they fabricate laws and rules etc.
Re: Gina (# 258)
Thanks for this info. So what can we really do about this?
Re: Sandie (# 264)
I will file complaints, look for a new pharmacy etc. Write Debra Houry with the CDC...she has a hand in writing the damned guidelines that have all tue pharmacies and doctors freaking out. Bombard her with letter after letter informing her of the ramifications of her stupid guidelines, and if enough of us semdbher letters, she may finally understand what us true chronic pain sufferers are going thru and the damage she has done,
If you are disabled, you can file a complaint against the doctor or pharmacy that arent helping you. Technically, they are violatingbour constitutional rights under the constitution as well as violating the ADA...americans disability act, which protect us from being treated differently because we have a physical disability, amlnd their actions, or lack of action has stolen your quality of life because you cant get adequate pain relief
Re: Gina (# 265)
I just walked out of the pain Dr's office here in Kingman Arizona and it was my husbands appt at the same Dr I see and as always he was telling us more stories about people and their opiates n such and my mouth just dropped at what he was saying and he told me to shut my mouth and I have never been so disrespected in my life, if everyone with a disability files claims with the disabilities agency we will get somewhere with this mess that the Cdc has created for all of us, he also told us that pretty soon no one will be able to get opiates for longer than 90 days period. What in the hell is going on? Well I am going to find another Dr and I am going to file with the disabilities act on Monday morning. Gina what state are you in?
Re: Whatnowvegas (# 271)
Dr passimo off Rancho - but does not accept Medicaid anymore.
Saw your post, my doctor stopped pain management, leaving me in agony and without telling where I could get help. I'm very desperate to find dr.who will perscribe. Please!!! I'm so very much in pain!
Hi I am originally from Tx where pain mgmt is compassionate but since moving to Hawaii (on Oahu) for my job I have had the worst time finding a Dr who is not afraid to prescribe. I have 6 herniated disks from a car accident in the neck and lower back and live in constant pain and sleepless nights without meds. Does anyone know Of a Dr. I can try here? I'm only on 4 -10mg hydrocodone a day.
What doctor are you seeing. I'm seeing doc Sharma but I have a script for 4 micro 20/325 per day been on for 6 months. But not working anymore I have to take 2 at a time. How's your doc
which doctor are u going to? so I can see if my insurance will take there.
I've had two failed lumbar surgery's. Living with 6 bolts and screw in my back, and one has broken off and just floating around. I was going to same pain Doctor last 5 years, he quit seeing patients, due to him just doing epidurals and hired a Nurse Practitioner. She said I was an addict and starting cutting down on my meds. I was taking 6 Roxicodine 30 mg daily. The first month with her, she cut me down to 5 a day. I did pretty ok with the 5 daily. The next month, it was down to 4 daily, I didn't do so well, I called the office and told them, I was taking 5 some days, and she didn't really say much, but we changed my appointment for 10 days early this month. I go in and I was 4 days short, she lost it, told me it was not their fault, I was addicted to the drugs, I had signed a release form and they (Doctor) was not responsible. She fired me, told me to leave the office, gave me a script for 5 pills a day and said she would never see me again, to find another Doctor. I couldn't believe it, I left the office in tears freaking out. I had also said to her, what Doctor will take me after what your writing on my medical report, she replied "Too Bad." So, $450.00 dollars later, I have found a new Doctor. I don't know if I like him or not, I was so desperate. I was impressed, he spent 40 minutes with my Husband and myself. He gave me 4, 30 mg of Roxy's a day and 2 Morphine ER 30 mg a day. My next appointment is in 22 days. So far, I've done pretty OK, there has been 3 days, I took an extra Roxy. I'm actually keeping a journal of the times I take my meds, so new Doctor can see, I'm not taking to make myself feel high. After 5 years on these meds, well Roxy's anyway, I don't feel any thing except, pain relief. My reason for writing, does anyone have a suggestion of what maybe you take for chronic pain that actually works. I was forced into retirement, which I am still very MAD about. I miss working a lot. I've been a Hairdresser for 35 years, so I should have known from the first surgery, I wouldn't work again, SIGH ! The reason I had the first surgery I was told, I have spinal stenosis (spelling, sorry), I always thought it was because, I thought I looked cute wearing high heels cutting hair all those years. I now can't be on my feet longer than 20 minutes nor can I sit longer than 20 minutes. Since new Doctor, I have been having nerve pain straight down my legs, they feel like they are going to sleep, tingling, and numbing feeling. I refuse to have another surgery and I am upset, this Doctor isn't on my Insurance Network. I'm in Woodstock, Georgia, about 20 minutes from Atlanta. I appreciate any reply's I get, I want to know your thoughts, thank you very much for taking the time to read this !
having moved to Vegas recently I cannot find a doctor who is willing to keep me on the meds that I have been on for 5 years I'm a previous Dr I'm scared to death of withdrawals nevermind the pain of interstitial cystitis that I have. Is there any doctor out here that has the compassion and is willing to give out the right
Does anyone know a low cost pain management dr here in Vegas?
Please refer me to good dr just moved to Vegas and have chron's lots of pain
What Dr were you seeing in Texas? I'm moving there and I need a good dr. Please!
I have been going to the same pain management doctor for 6 years. Receiving a script for Norco (5 a day). I started on Naproxen, then muscle relaxers, eventually working up to Hydrocodone within the first 6 months or so and once I got to Norco 5x a day, it was perfect. And I've never needed to step it up.
Well, now the pain management clinic is no longer prescribing meds to anyone, period. They are only doing procedures. They informed all of their patients to return to their primary physician and get a referral to another PM clinic.
I met with the new PM doctor and he disagrees with my former PM doctor's diagnosis and treatment plan. He is strongly against opiates, and I know it is the only thing that has worked for me.
Can anyone recommend a Las Vegas/Henderson area PM doctor that would likely just continue with the Hydrocodone? Please let me know if you have a suggested PM doctor that isn't dead set against opiate treatment.
Dear lunablue, your story sounds SO much like mine, I really really feel for you! I wish I had more info about the Rxs Medicaid covered but my ins. Is diff. Do u have any that can help me I am in vegas and ran out can u help
I moved from Florida to Nevada and I am on SSI Disability. The 1st insurance I chose had a network of THREE doctors (in same bldg. in Vegas) and another one doctor at a Henderson office. My insurance hooked me up with the doctor in Henderson and I went because I was almost out of medicine. My FIRST visit I had my prescription bottles, previous doctors and explained my records were lost in move. I am 50 yrs old and for the past 8 years have been on some sort of MS Contin and MSIR for breakthrough. (I have used Kadian, Avinza, Nucynta and Loratabs in the past). At any rate the morphine has always worked and been covered under my insurance, I was on 60mg extended release 4x daily and 30mg immediate release 4x daily. My first visit I was cut down to 60mg 3x a day, by a 25 yr old PAC! He told me that I needed to exercise more, he goes to the gym 6 days a week and that pain is part of life-just deal with it. I was livid! I may not "work out" but I certainly exercise. My next visit after getting MRI and records I requested to see the actual doctor, which seemed worse, like he was annoyed I was bothering him. He comes in wearing headphones, talking into his tape recorder and typing on his laptop, spends all of 5 minutes with me and cut my meds AGAIN from 30mg to 15mg immediate release. I explained I was having hard time adjusting to last cut and barely making it, "well I don't believe it necessary and we would like to perform a procedure on you to see how much pain you are in". At this point I am in tears, 2 visits and all you want to do is cut my meds and practice procedures, which they mentioned on my 1st visit, procedures.
I am now at my wits end, I have since changed insurances and PM doctors and after waiting TWO HOURS, have had my dosage cut in HALF and was told I could do that, go to rehab or go cold turkey because he felt that was the problem, I have been on morphine too long and it is not effective so we have to take it away and start over. I didn't have any problems with my pain regiment until moving here. There were days that the humidity in Florida really hurt and bothered me but now I am in pain constantly with no relief and no hopes of seeing a PM doctor that understands. I have bone spurs that pinch my nerves in my neck and disc disease along with arthritis in my spine. I was diagnosed with this in Las Vegas in 2006 and was sent to a PM doctor that prescribed me these drugs. Gradually they have increased, by ONE 60mg MS Contin and instead of 30mg MSIR it was 15mgs.
Is there anyone in Las Vegas that has a PM doctor that isn't afraid to write prescriptions or is it doctors that are covered in Medicare networks that are afraid or simply don't care? Never in my life have I been made to feel like a junkie until coming here and seeing the doctors in Las Vegas. I tried to see the doctor I originally saw when I lived here but, doesn't take my insurance.
You still live in vegas?
