Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 79)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

OMGosh, I am so glad that this SAS place had worked out! I was telling my pain Dr who is actually a shrink what was going on and he had a few things to say about Dr. May and the debacle now. I can't really repeat any of it, but leaving crp is a good choice!
Last month I had a dog pee incident that ruined 1/3 of my 90 day script. I can't imagine what I would do if I had to deal with a clinic like that. You can't file a police report because a dog wanted to mark me and got more than just me. Naturally I didn't save the peed on pills, but I bet that's what they would have demanded. *eyeroll*
If anyone has questions about the list of docs I put up just post here. I purposely left off Mapleton Pain Clinic due to my issues with them when I was a patient. However, they take Medicare so probably medicade too. Plus they are strict but fair in that no deviations. Unfortunately when you have RA that after years is still not responding to treatment, adjustments are required.
Anyway, cheers on SAS!

Does anyone know if I got red flagged or something? And what that means, because today I was able to get my meds from SAS. I've read that it's just that they watch to see if you do the same thing again.... anyone know?

So is dr. May in trouble for real or did he just quit probably because of this pharmacy guy? Did your doc say anything about that when you talked about it verychatty Sarah?

My roomate an actual pharmacist and he told me , you are lucky they didn't press charges .It's class one felony tampering with script. The clinic and the pharmacy guy is going to permanently mark your chart abuser and report you with their evidence to Dea .It takes 3 /4 weeks to get in state wide data base .Once in no hospital or clinic can perscribe, any narcotics to u or risk their own license.

Mac if Leonard didn't say anything but him writing it in your chart then that is all they will probably do so when docs get ur file they will see it but hopefully just ask u about it and then you can explain so unless you hear different then don't freak. If anything just call Leonard and ask if you are going to be red flagged or anything you need to worry about.

Steven Wilson..he won't give anymore than " 90 a month Percocet, and lol, tramodal for breakthrough. I get soma and lyrica and ambien it's not much but I'm thankful for it. I seen all the Doctors listed here...sounds lovely getting the good long term meds....What I don't get is I'm am so long term life I'm told...why can't I get a long term medicine what I'm on now and have been for a good while is for short term...like a broken bone or after minor surgery. Old anymore.....I get paid tested every time I see him. on a different note I did some research on living in Colorado. Springs is out....so ironic my x oxhusband moves to my dream state....uhgggggg. but that won't stop me, I is thought all y'all live there and know the town's around pretty good... just grasping at this blog in the hopes someone will befriend me and help me out...you know cause a´ll live it there day in and day out. coco Bethleann, peace always

To quote "Uh Dr. May was writing everything for everyone"... We discussed this pharmacy and who is at the clinic now and then talked about flossing lol he's really cool. Point being, even with all the corrective measures in the world, counting day 1 as 0, and letting Captain Pharmacy play God is unheard of bullcrap. I hope you don't have to go through any of this bs again! If people only knew the pain we have. My Dr was like if you want to go cheap there is speed. Why would I play the system for ritalin if I want a high? He's $250 a visit plus cost of meds. I can make speed for cripes sake. It's damn near punishment to go the legal way.

Mac Google the following: dea pharmacy reporting
The folks at SAS can pull your report and tell you. I'd call and ask. My mom was flagged and our Dr told her. Usually the pharmacy will not tell you. Flags can be lifted and it's just a flag, it doesn't negate treatment or RX fills, it just makes it hard as fuji film.

I know they wrote that I broke the contract they had and that they did send it to the DEA. But I know people who were flagged for filling scripts on day 24 month after month and he is still fine.... Wendy so in a few weeks is that going to be showing up on pharmacy files when they go to fill for me? And they said the two choices are to press charges or just let the person go, so they let me go..... I just am still really scared about this coming back on me even though I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!!! It drives me nuts.

VeryChattySarah how do you get flags lifted? From what I've read it seems that once you're flagged they keep an eye on you to make sure you don't continue what happened...... Ugghhhh I hate just not knowing. I know they sent it to the DEA because Charles is there now but idk what to do about it and if it's going to come back to bite me next month when I go to fill.

So Wendy you're saying in a few weeks no one will be allowed to fill them??? Man now I'm just as stressed as before because then I will REALLY be screwed if this great doctor I found can't even give me prescriptions that can be filled.

I'm not so much worried about SAS, but pharmacies..... I don't know if I should call CPR to see if this is going to cause a red flag or what. I've read on multiple sites that a red flag from the DEA only comes with prosecution and conviction.... I'm just scared that even though I found a great doctor I won't be able to have any pharmacies fill my scripts. This sucks man....

I am sure if something pops up they will ask you and then you can just tell them what actually happened. We have done everything right for so many years and now this crap is happening, my husband is even saying that it wasn't right and I need to change docs. The pharmacy guy tried saying that when you move the dea makes you find a new pain management doctor within 90 days which is b.s. um no ahole you have up to 90 days to change your license or I.d you can go to any doctor you want in any state. That's how I know he is nothing but a b.s. liar and I won't be surprised when cpr has to close down because they don't have anymore patients or doctors because of this ahole pharmacy owner. Its called karma and I hope we all get to at least hear that karma was dealt back to this ahole pharmacy owner.

Mac keep calm you will be fine and if you want you can call cpr and make sure you won't be red flagged but I don't think you will.

Mac, Tammy... hi, Anna here. I am so annoyed with this new pharmacy. The other day at my appointment, no one seemed to know what was going on. I was getting half answers and uncertainty, also, everyone seemed to be in a horrible mood! Today is considered day 30 for me yet the pharmacy "has not received my prescription yet." and they'll call me when they get it? Ugh... Actually, yesterday was day 30 and I have been out of my meds for two days and feeling horrible. I was just reading the posts about different clinics like SAS... do they take insurance or are they out of pocket too? Cpr is getting (well, has always been) so expensive! I don't even think I can afford to go there anymore and I don't know what to do. I'm wondering if I should try going to this SAS place too... I looked it up and it seems its just a primary care clinic and not specifically pain management? Anyway... I'm here if any of you would like to talk.

Mac you will be fine. A similar circumstance happened to me 4 years ago and I was worried I wouldn't be able to fill narcotics again. But when I got sick 2 years ago, I had no problem filling any med I needed. You are lucky they didn't get cops involved that day. You won't be prosecuted against now:). So take a deep breath! You are fine!
