Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 63)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Like I said, because the Good Lord put the Opium poppy on this planet to allow people like myself and many others including many of you on this forum to live a semi-normal life. Granted, we still have pain, but the amount of pain while on pain meds is nothing close to without them. So we still have daily pain to deal with, but it is far less of a problem than not being able to sit in chairs at school and learn, not being able to work, not being able to do ANYTHING we enjoy in life. At least with pain meds we can do SOME of the things that bring us pleasure in life..... But we have to play with the hand we're dealt. We can't change it and we have to live with it, but the amazing relief that the opium poppy provides to millions of chronic pain patients is divine. It is truly a gift from God. And that's what frustrates me so much when people abuse it and make it hard for all the REAL chronic pain patients to get the help they need to live a somewhat normal life, when all these other goons are just getting high and ruining our ability to have a somewhat normal life.

Mac this is why I stay in this forum cuz of u I agree with everything you said im older then u but u by a far are more raiser then me I have learn alot from u here. Im glad u started this. But sometimes I feel like I have 2 tel my story my side cuz im nt a drug seeker and nt sayin anyone here thinks I am but some of the comments make me feel like they think I am. Thats nt me i been on pain meds for 9yrs just 2 have some type of NORMAL 2 do things with my family and grandson and work. My brother was addict and die of a over dose but im nt him. But ppl and dr u say pain meds either ur a drug seeker or get the door in ur face and u keepin lookin 4 help til u get a dr that listens and understands and helps u I have 3 drs in 9yrs my 1st was 8 yrs bck hme in indiana then dr ryan then he change 2 kaiser then tha dr that took over for him just 2 get booted off cuz I did wat she told me then got bck with dr ryan

It's was awful Mac I use MJ for my seizures and side affects of oxycotin .CPR lady doc is amazing first thing she did was put me back on all my meds .I could of went in to cardiac arrest going up and down on dosing .This place is a safe haven for true pain people .They rule out seekers .Rainbow I didn't say u were a seeker , but that's why u were let go .It is up to the treating doctor to keep u or send u off regardless if u can get help .It came back positive for pot which is legal and it pist her off. So what if she thinks your a druggie do u want a doctor like that caring for you ? NOOOOOOOOOOO. I was diagnosis at 21 I'm 42 now I have actuals rooms full of my records and still been called addict from some doctors.

Its stil hurts when ppl think that of u and I didnt say u thought I was.I dnt want a dr like that either and I wld go 2 CPR but they dnt take medicaid but its ok im at kaiser and I continue 2 see dr ryan and dr landin. I guess it stil bothers me of Teresa on how she let me go knowin I didnt do nothing only wat she told me. She never said I was a drug seeker and that it was all good things in my chart from my dr. I guess I wil never really understand I have never had a issuse the 9yrs I been on pain management I guess maybe my problems are nt a serious as yours. Update: I got Morphine sulfate time released tablets instead of the OxyContin, my insurance covers these 100%, so far they seem to be ok. Thought I couldn't take them but ok so far.

Does Morphine work well for most of you? I still have the 4 OxyIR a day for breakthrough.

Wow that was a blow to me rainbow , I didn't know this was a contest on who's worst off .Well darling I have hydroseflus wich is water on the brain , I also have a BP shunt size of an infant to drain all the fluid or I drown .I have a frontal lube brain tumor , I have Arnold chari 2 wich means my cerebellum is in my spinal Colom .Like Mac I was diagnosed at 21 after I went completely blind and was given only six months to live .As I recall you wanted to know she let you go .You also told me she called you a drug seeker last vist..Why do you care what she says or thinks ? :You were upset when I was kept and you got let go .Than when I got booted you were kind of happy .This is a support group I thought .

1st off I didnt say it was I said thats how Teresa made me feel it had nothin 2 do wit u at all I said that cuz thats wat Teresa said 2 me b4 that my back is extremly bad but other ppl are worse off. Yes she did call me 1 cuz she felt single nt need 2 meds just 1 then after reviewin all my mri xrays from yrs past she said I wld need pain management cuz my back was gettin worse then like I have said b4 I do wat she tells me then I get the BOOT. I didnt know bein on this forum I had 2 repeat my whole intire dr apt. Then u come sayin Teresa was gettin rid of all the drug seekers and basicly sayin I was 1 but u dnt believe it. Wel u must if thats wat you are sayin 2 me. So now I feel like I have 2 give my life story all because Teresa thought I was a drug seeker. U no how bad u embarrassed me in this forum sayin that like u were her asstant and she was tellin u everythin and u dnt even no wat I look like or who I really am u just assume and go on wat the dr said.I have never on this forum or with any dr act as if im a drug seeker.

I just responded 2 u but it need reviewing b4 it comes 2 u and I was not happy you were let go I was shocked cuz u were happy wit her and u liked her dnt assume how I feel thats how things get started. I thought this was support 2 but I clearly see u no everything bout me cuz you and Teresa wld talk bout me rite cuz im SUCH a drug seeker rite u dnt no me at all u only no wat I say here. Look rainbow I wasn't talking about you I simply repeated what Teresa stated on my first visit .I have been more than nice to everyone on here. Not once did I call you a seeker that's in your own head. You wanted to know why she let you go so badly guess I what before you assume I'm talking about someone I don't even know the better question would have been how did u find out ? On my first visit she told me her rules.Than she let me know it is up to the doctor who they keep or drop. How she let go of a lot of people already because they didn't really need pain meds. I'm sure your real name isn't rainbow correct ? So how the hell, can I ask her about your private medical care think dear that's illlegal. You never came up. I lost her because I smoked pot it pist her off. The only one that thinks your a drug addict is yourself so get off my ass I did nothing to you.

Fuzzy..I've been on Morphine Sulfate E/R 100 mg 3x a day for the past several years and I have no bad side affects (I also take between 6 and at one time 13 IR a day..I discharged myself when it hit 13, now its between 2 and 8 depending on the day) and it does help enable me to get out of bed most days. Prior to that I was Oxycontin (OC) 80 mg 3x a day and it was slightly, but noticably, more effective than the Morphine. When the changed the formula (OP) in an attempt to reduce market and abuse value I was quickly doubled over from stomach pain. My pain doc at the time said I was not the first patient to have this happen. The problem is I have such a high tolerance that the Morphine is not as effective as it once was. Sometimes docs will up me to 120 mg (2 60s) 3x a day and that seems to help but going up any higher is dangerous and probably not DEA approved. Once again, the abusers, liars, drug seeking losers personally affected my life. The formula was changed ONLY TO REDUCE DIVERSION.which I would have been fine with if they came up with a formula that didn't have many side affects like the older 80 mg oxycontins. And back then Medicaid used to cover the Oxycontins but they stopped and since there is no generic version (creating a new version of the drug restarts the clock on when generics can be used) for most patients it would be about 1k cash a month. They cover the Morphine as you know. But when I had no insurance (if this sounds familiar.. Costco is the only way to go. A monthly supply of Morphine E/R is about $100 at Costco, sometime $500 at Riite-Aid (my fave pharmacy). Another reason I can't take the oxycontins even if I could tolerate them.

Has anyone tried Exalgo. I just learned about it. It's the generic version of LONG ACTING Dilaudid. One PA (whose office was run by a dude who was in IT and figure pain medicine would be as far away from IT as possible..note: he had NO medical training. The prescribing PA was a family doc trying to make a buck by getting into the pain clinic business. (I've been told by other docs this may be illegal). Needless to day discharged myself as well but she told me about Exalgo. It's $5000 cash but she insisted Medicaid covered it. I never did confirm this because when I agreed to switch from Morph to this new drug, she would only do it if I changed my instant oxy from 80mg a day (very low for me as it is) to 2 5mg Vicodyn. First of all, as many of you may know andeveryone is different...typically your body doesn't even react to Vicodyn. Secondly, ANYONE on long-term chronic pain medication should not be ingesting Tylenol every day. Some docs disagree with me, but I believe this to be true 100 percent..for my body anyway and probably most of yours. So to make this "short" post end...my questions is: Has anyone tried Exalgo? What strength? How effective was it? Similarly, anyone taken Dilaudid IR. One doc used to switch month by month between oxy IR and Dilaudid to help with my freakishly strong tolerance to these meds. I couldn't tell much difference between them, but when I found a new doc, he wanted me to pick either the 30mg oxy IRs or 8mg dilaudid. I chose the oxy but was thinking of switching to see if it will help with this tolerance issue.

I use to have dr. Ryan but when he left I got Teresa instead. Ever since then at my appointment she makes me feel like I'm just out to get pills and not really need them. She cut me from my 20mg oxy to 10mg. And told me if the tens don't help that I will just need to go to a pain managment. Does any know of any pain managment places that takes insurance?? Please help!!!

Hey Mac...I noticed you take fentanyl patches? What mg? Do they work well for you? What mg do you take? Do you think it is safe, unless of course like anything else, it is abused or mixed with alcohol and or other illicit drugs?

Rainbow you completely took that all wrong .You wanted to know why you were dismissed if u scroll down to past conversations. I was stating how she hides be hind pain management to release people she feels don't need meds .Since you went to her than you read her rules on her door about narcotics and how it is doctor preferences to give them if the Doctor feels you need them. If Teresa said doctor feels your only wanting more or watever.Were it says she can a dismiss u or send u to pain management. For you to jump my s*** was Un called for. So what if she thinks your a druggie won't be the first doctor get a box of tissue and get over it .For the ones that have been sick half their lives knows it's part of the crap that comes with our conditions. I didn't pass a drug panel for pot and she let me go without meds that keep me alive no I don't mean narcotics .Doctors like that are apart of our system but we move on.

Im nt on your ass either I was just stating from rhe jump I was hurt and upset cuz Teresa let ne go after I did and followed her rules. I have never had any problems with my other 2 drs in tha 9 yrs I been on pain management. Then u reply all matter a factly and say wel Teresa let u go cuz ur a drug seeker Just like she let all tha other 1s go u put it in my face as if u work wit her and that u were the only 1 who wasnt a drug seeker then u waste no time postin it in here u no how that made me feel u doin that??? She's not my buddy either if you read it, I wrote I was dismissed over pot and how I disappointed her in her eyes. Im sorry I ever told you, I thought you were mature enough to handle an opinion of one a**hole doctor. I quote Teresa told me during our meet n greet she had dismissed a lot of the other doctors patients, they didn't need meds and we're just seekers. That when she pointed to her typed up rules .I didn't tell you to hurt you I told you so you would know it was her and nothing you did .As I recall you were upset over it .You come on here acting like I'm out to get you .I got let go with a brain tumor and no meds day before the holiday because she's anti pot .You think that's my buddy ?
