Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 265)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Aggie thank you for your prayers. I've been fortunate to have had a Dr. Help me. I heard all these horror stories on here on news cancer patients on camera getting their scripts denied.
Now I too have become released from my PM. The letter of dismissal isn't as bad as I thought.
I have never had a problem with m uhhg u/a for the 5 years I've been on meds.
My pm outta blue just tested me 3 times in a month.
During this time I was dealing with UTI, bladder and uterine pain and pain with urination.
These tests state i had methadone in my system
Taking methadone with the ER I'm prescribed would kill me , plus my BY meds and small doses of clonazepam, I got myself off of lyrica and Xanax to clonazepam.
Now I am so scared to find a Dr that takes medicare, because I can no longer afford the monthly fee of this pm Dr.
Also my last visit I had 110.00 on cash and there was no way they would help me, I was able to reach my daughter in Fl to call and give the staff the credit card#,
I do know that this Dr. I'm snot going to throw me under the bus meaning they 're not try to stop other Dr. S from treating me.
So it could be worse.
I do know a Dr. I'm Littleton takes my insurance, I'm going to see if he will help me with some form of pain med , he probably will not rx my BY meds ,but I will be looking for PM that takes my insurance.
The thought of the worse things that can happen the pain, the depression, and too much pain not treated for prolonged amount of time leads to suicidal thoights, naturally in a lot of pain patients.
I have dropped to my knees in prayer because I have some challenging things in my life ahead.

Post #5284 and others from Aggie, I absolutely understand the helplessness and hopelessness. I'm Catholic and have known that ending ones life is mortal ventral sin. I'm tempted. The body failure and pain is severe. My spinal thoracic episode in August 2012 caused my aorta to wrinkle along with the vertebrae. I believe God understands our heart and soul. Use your voice. Shame on those in positions of power that we elected. We pay their salaries. This has been going on prior to this recent election. Non Pattinson. Every great colonization has colapsed within when leaders stopped listening to citizens. I'm refusing all but palliative care so my journey will be sooner. I just hope God knows I couldn't handle severe pain from a broken body any longer than necessary. Due to kidney and bladder problems, infections, spinal vertebrae instability, I have had antibiotics and steroids but they just prolong the suffering. Please pray for me as well and all of you share your voice to make a difference. My attorney is receiving this cell when I pass. Internet is forever. Our voices carry on. We are the new genocide done stealthy and suddenly.

Jane doe, I came in 10 days early for med adjustments, so I got u/a then and nothing was said about that u/a cuz I went back 10 days later to my normal appointment and they u/a me again! Still nothing was said. So I took one more and then 10 days later they called and fired me. I don't understand... I was tested 3 times in a row. Heather told me they're gonna start testing more and also do pill counts, not even giving you 24 hours notice. She said if they call u that day you have until 5:45 to get there; if not, you will be fired. Mind you I knew Lincoln since 2012. Also they know I've been struggling with payments and also we've been trying different meds. I finally got a dose that stops my leg pain without having to take lyrica, but it's making me keep weight on.

Idk what's going on at that clinic, but I felt as though my shortcomings and trying to find the right dose takes a few months, so I just don't know. I don't drive and the bus takes 2 hours, so if they would be called for a pill count chances are I wouldn't have been able to make it. Plus the fact I feel like a hundred dollar bill to them. I was 65.00 short one day. They knew I needed refills, so I feel like he doesn't care about me, he's just grabbing all the money he can make with mmj cards and pm while he can. I've read so much literature about ameritox, and other false+, that you just cant trust it. Also ppl are being told to flush their unused meds down the toilet. I cook with water and drink bottled water. We came a long way with technology, but still I think there is some way to go. We all process things differently.

Chaos, sounds like it is time to start waening ourselves off the meds, won't be fun or anything, but I guess the powers that be would rather have us disabled, I have had to do a few ua this yr, maybe 2, no pill count yet but that would be tough on me, I am on a small dose, 2 15 er a day and 4-6 mg of diluadid, I don't mind following the rules, will do so happily but hope it doesn't become impossible to be pain free or under control, I love everyone in that office.

To all on Medicare or Medicaid and looking for a very good PC doc that handled my pain management while I was on Medicaid, take a look at Dr. Kornfeld at Denver Health, Lowry Clinic. He was great. I would still be with him if my insurance covered him. They accept Medicaid, they have a pharmacy on site, and they give you 2 prescriptions at a time, so you don't have to make an appointment every month.
It's worth a shot to get people away from these PM con artists....... take a look!!

Lucy I didn't get to try D yet, I don't have my funds together, I was gonna go to Fyne in Littleton, I've seen him before, i know his weird ways, but if he will up while I get the down payment for Dr. D, if he'll write my ER med and my clonazepam.
Jetmech, I know right where that's at, thank you. I have no choice right now but to see what help I can get through my Medicare
Jane Doe, I too like the staff too, I also grew very comfortable with Lincoln, being I've been his patient donve 2012, I thought it would really mean something when I was short 65.00.
My worst nightmare is to end up walking up at 5 am in the Methadone line, but methadone clinics I heard are anti marijuana and anti benzodiazepine, but I think the person told me a lie about that...

Tae rae,

He's expensive but I will sacrifice whatever is necessary cuz the bottom line is I have medicaid and there is no one that takes it. And without him I would end up like my sister and go quietly into that good night. Because of him I have my first real job in years. I will pray for you and all of you. This site saved my life.

I saw Dr Kornfeld from OCT OF 14 THROUGH April of 2015, when I found a job with insurance that didn't cover his clinic.
I am mow at another great family practice clinic that handles very specific pain patients. They have kept me because of my record. My tests are always where They are supposed to be, I ask questions regarding getting past all this and getting better. They trust me, and I trust them. I am one of 4 pain management patients....... all of us are in the airline life!! 2 rampers, and 2 mechanics!!

I went to the first Dr in years that denied my meds...a Medicare medicaid Dr. I was paying 175.oo to see a Dr.
What a difference, between Hong and Andy Fine, my god have mercy on me, his nurse td me he usually helps u for 2 months, that's it. So I retur8on my 2nd visit far from home, and he denied any help but looked up my pdmp that by law Hong is supposed to help me for 30 days, . It's not true, dr fyne lied saying it we against law to rx my clonazepam with ur er morphine.

Not against the law but against medical practice guidelines to prescribe any diazepam type drugs with opiates due to increasing risk for respiratory distress and hence death; usually only as inpatient and then rarely, if it ends in Zepam it is risky. If Hong is supposed to help you for 30 days after d/c then it would be fine. I really think we need to start weaning off or down. After suffering from a fracture over the last two weeks, it did remind me what acute pain is like. Not that I am dismissing anyone's pain levels but I think it is going to become very restrictive with legal action against drug companies, etc!
