Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 228)
UpdatedI have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!
CONFUSED...Dr. Shawn put me on the patches which I love and even increased my oxy which quickly got decreased once Medicaid decided 4/day is enough. I did locate her at her other location and a friend of mine try to make it appointment and she had to pay $100 on a credit card over the phone to keep the appointment. She never ended up going.
WHERE IS DR SHAWN AT? SHE WAS AM AMAZING DR. I NEED SOMETHING TO HOLD ME OVER UNTIL THEY REOPEN...IF THEY DO. I MIND UA'S AS LONG AS THEY CAN HELP. ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD DR OR CLINIC?
LUCY. ...I WISH I HAD THAT KIND OF MONEY. ...I JUST NEED SOMETHING TEMPORARY
If you guys trek down to colorado springs, I know a few doctors who will write a script for one month to keep you safe until you get your denver PM doc. But when you see your new doc, they will call them and let em know what meds and how much they gave you so you don't double dip on accident.
Dr. John Tyler
Dr. Jack Rook
My Primary is Dr. Alexios Constantenides
And Dr. Malinky. They may be able ot help. Just call and ask.
I'm so sorry to hear what's going on for some of you. I'm lucky and my primary care physician wrote my prescriptions and said he will continue to do so until I am happy at a new pain management clinic.
Also, for those of you who don't know this yet Benzos have been black boxed with Oxycodone. That means Drs aren't supposed to or aren't allowed to prescribe both oxy and xanax/klonopin to the same patient. Too many prescription related deaths in Colorado, and most that die from Oxy overdose were also prescribed a benzo.
I wish it weren't illegal to share meds and/or difficult to reach out to each other on here since I could help some people. Darn.
Dr. Shawn is at: Mountain Medical Injury and Pain Professionals with two office locations: Lakewood and Northglenn. mountainmedicalinjury.com is the website. I would encourage you to browse the website to get an understanding of the practice.
There are holistic, medical, pain management, and addiction specialists plus others on board.
Dr. Shawn Glazer is at Mountain Medical Injury and Pain Professionals which is in both Lakewood and Northglenn.
I have a question: Is there any type of patient rights we have? Can we go after the agency shutting down CPR if we suffer an injury, say, like a stroke or worse, when we are withdrawing due to lack of continuity of care?
I am seriously thinking of calling some law firms. Enough is enough.
It looks like the DEA picks a state, for example, Washington, in August 2016 and shuts down more than one clinic. I hope that some of us do not end up having an appointment canceled by a second clinic. There is interesting info on the Internet; however, it is clear that chronic pain patients have no rights.
RANDY. .DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE CHANGE IS IN CO. SPRINGS? I'LL GO OF ITS A FOUR SURE THING. ...DO THEY ONLY TAKE CASH?
IS THERE ANY WAY TO EXCHANGE PHONE NUMBERS OR EMAIL ADDRESSES WITH EACH OTHER? MAYBE WE CAN HELP EACH OTHER WITH INFO? ?
THAT SHOULD HAVE SAID. ..WHAT THE CHARGE IS IN CO SPRINGS
Confused, what was yr internet search re dea, I am thinking about bringing a legal case against my old dr who closed his office due to his addiction. Lets all get together somewhere for lunch?
I actually talked with my lawyer today. She gave me some info. I must request my records from CPR in writing via the US post office, contact the state dept in Denver and then take it to the federal level. She gave me the links and address. After all that, then they can write a letter. Unfortunately, she says it depends on exactly why they were closed down. Federal government doesn't have to inform anyone if the law is being broken.
All of these doctors take insurance. Dr. Tyler charges $160 per visit if you dont have insurance. But I've been to each of them at different times in the last 10 years. I've never been discharged before, I've only moved on my Primary Care Physician's recommendation or to look for a doctor who was less stingy with meds when I was at my worse. I recommend Dr. Tyler for PM, but they are a month out sometimes. Malinky is great and will be able to get you in in about 1-2 weeks usually. Rook isn't always taking new patients. Just have your medical records and/or a referral.
Omg thank you and he did take me in for next week thank god my prayer was answered if it was not for you guys on here helping us all I don't know what we would of done I guess I would die from it all but thank you guys for the number and info I live each and everyone of you and I pray every night for you all to get the help you need and deserve much live from me to you all
Smalls... thank you for sharing that information. I will follow up in requesting my records. If there are any links that you would like to share, that would be helpful.
I may call some of those big law firms and ask if they are interested in litigation. I am so tired of feeling like a victim.
Smallish , I have different digits, not the digits you listed but I did get voice mail when I called.
Nothing wrong with Hong s practice.
I feel for all of you CPR really is hurting a lot of folks. IMO, after reading the last 2pages of posts.( So many new ppl asking the same question) I always say read through the thread. I believe CPR will find a new doc for you. Ppl that have been patient s for awhile have seen this. Just my opinion. I don't see a problem if you did have to bridge from pcp, or new pm, just let them know. Thing is Dr. H won't c u without current records, I had 2 years of records on my person that I was his patient, I was waiting on the doc I had been going to for last 2 years to fax my records, to get an appointment with Dr H. They wouldn't budge.
Good for you Goose! You made a great decision! You will be at ease and able to talk.
Chaos: that is puzzling that Dr. H requested your records first. I know someone, granted they were fairly old, that made an appointment without records. The website states that only patients 31 and under must have their medical records submitted to his office before he can meet with them.
