Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 227)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

I believe that about what years ago I said that CAR was just a pill mill. Everyone said how wrong I was.....when a clinic won't take insurance....it is usually because the insurance companies won't do business with them.
It's too bad that so many of you with real need are now in a scramble to find a new P.M. clinic.....good luck all.

Ok so I looked it up and it's not CPR that is in trouble it is frisbie he could no longer practice as of the 19th of this month so they probably put the phone off the hook because of too many calls and will let us know when they have a new provider. Until then you wait or find someone else I guess up to you. It sucks but it's hard to find someone on short notice.

I went to DORA... Department of Regulatory Affairs... and saw the restricted license details regarding the PM provider at CPR. Hopefully we will have a new provider very, very soon.

Hello I'm a patient at the CPR I have cancer and I have to have my medicine does anyone know what is going on at CPR? I don't know what to do I just moved here been going to CPR since feb
Can anyone help me my appointment is Wednesday and I just found this out by looking on here can someone be my friend and help me I also just had surgery and now I'm scared to be without my medicine and being sick with cancer to is no help
Please anyone could help me and my disabled husband I would be so thankful
I take oxcodone 30mg 4 daily
Please someone help me I don't want to be in pain and sick on top of their cancer

Confused2: I would think if you had another doctor that would write a prescription for your pain meds that you would change permanently. Unless your GP would write a bridge script to hold you until if/when CPR reopens. I don't know if that would be troublesome or not... it depends on the provider looking at your records.

Moose: I feel so badly for you that you are not only suffering the pain of withdrawals, but also have cancer. Unfortunately, it is against the law to share medications. Also, I am out of meds... I think a lot of us reading here are out, or almost out. We are on the same sinking ship.

Has anyone actually talked to Amanda? Do they have an ETA on a new doctor / PA?
If we must have our records to see another dr elsewhere, i am going to have a problem unless i can get them from CPR. They have ALL my records, i have been with them for almost 10 yrs, since they opened.

I'm going too Shawn. They charge 140 to 100 to start. My appointment is the first with CPR SO IM NOT sure what's the deal.

Wendy LOL..I bet the loss of all of our payments this week has had a devastating effect on CPR. I agree.. they will be doing whatever necessary in order to reopen.

Guys.. I can't imagine you would get in trouble for getting a bridge script(s) in these circumstances. Just don't go double dipping and be totally honest. I speak from experience.

Dr. Shawn with the dog is NOT at CPR. She is with a different provider altogether. She is listed on their website as the addiction specialist of the group.

Wendy: I would like to ask if you would be able to let us know how your appointment went with her once you meet with her. I would definitely consider Dr. Shawn as an option.

Dr. Shawn left CPR because she felt as though it was a pill mill. She said to me, " I can't do this for much longer, it is against my principles!"
I do not see her talking on pain management patients long term. She used to be about weaning and cutting dosages.
Good luck to all of us, i know that i am scared. Amanda is looking for a new Dr. I bet they have one by next Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday at the very latest.

ELEFANTE...Yes.. He will keep you on what ur on ...you see him every other month and UAs then. Scripts given for off months..$160:mo after $400 cash initial visit. Like the rest no insurance taken. It's been a year and I'm happy.
