Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 154)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

Car accidents are one of the worse things, even if you are lucky enough not to be injured. Glad that neither were serious enough to put you in the hospital or worse. They are scary and then you have to deal with all the garbage of getting your vehicle back on the road in semi working condition. Just awful !!!

I have been told, that most of the time, that you as the patient, can't ask for the type of medication that works for you. You have to let them suggest it. I have given new doctors a list of what DOES NOT WORK for me. My personal experience has been that the new doctors ask me "what was your previous doctor giving you for this?" then I say. Otherwise if you suggest it, they think you are shopping. It's so weird. It's like a balance high wire act.
I don't understand why you can't just save the time (and money) by letting them know up front what doesn't work, what does work, and cut thru all the "trying" something new LOL
It seemed at the time, that the worse thing that ever happened, was my doctor retired. The clinic hired a new "crazy" doctor who doesn't believe in giving any medication that actually works. In the end, I got into a doctor (who wasn't taking patients) who started with my previous medications, now with time has changed all of them LOL. It was the best thing that he could have done. I am able to function better and don't take near the amount of opiates or Xanax that I was. I feel like he's a good doctor because he didn't "cold turkey" me off anything or weird my whole system by adding too many changes too quickly.
We made an agreement. When he wants to introduce something new into the program, I have to try it with a good attitude. The other side of that is that if something isn't working or needs to be tweeked, he has to really listen to what I'm experiencing.
I think that there may be a "magic" combination and we each have to find our own "magic" combination :)

I had my car totaled from a dumbass that turned into me across my right of way. And now my car is gone..... Thank the Lord I found a new one, but boy it jacked me up a bit.... And the guy came at my car screaming at me that it was my fault because his big ass woodchipping truck had it's blinker on..... Ughhhh..... I can't stand people that drive for COMPANIES and still don't know the rules of the road and think they can do anything because of the size of their truck.

Having a rough time this week. Car accident and the towing people stole my meds I'm pretty sure. No other explanation. Car is ok, I'm ok, that's all that matters. I've never not had meds like this before so I'm scared. Won't have anything for about 4 days :/

Horrible. If they had top five worst dental visits, I would be number one for sure lol. I had a panic attack before, during, and after. I go back on the 19th for and extraction, then have to have a root canal done and a couple fillings. I have to go through all this because i don't floss, ladies and gents, FLOSS THEM, FLOSS THEM REAL GOOD LOL.

Wendy, good advice.
Dencolo, I know dozens of people who are prescribed xanax, it's not difficult to get, but you need to go through a psychiatrist or PCP, not pain management.

DenColorado, What I'm trying to tell you is , You need a mental health Doctor not pain management. What I ment by shopping list was don't go in asking for a certain med it makes you look like a seeker and they red flag your chart .Let them suggest it .

They don't treat anything but pain issues .Google the Reach center they have councilors that prescribe psych meds.

I don't have a list. I have SEVERE anxiety and since obamacare i have been screwed with my medicine so i was wondering if they treat anxiety.

Dencolo,

I will ask my wife the decent places to write for. I know one is called Zerys. ...or something like that. What it is is someone wants something written.... contacts say, Zerys and it goes on a board. You pick and choose the articles you want to write.
You send in a writing sample, they evaluate it and if they like what they see, hire you on. Once you do it for a while, some clients submit straight to you....that's where the better money starts coming in. Do a search for Zerys or any write from home places. There are quite a few and my wife writes for about 5 of them on a regular basis.

I don't know what they prescribe everyone different. The cost is 225.00 to start them with a referral from a Doctor .If you have insurance call Mapleton in Boulder .Or Google pain management in Colorado .Cpr is ok now but you can't go in with a shopping list asking for meds you'll be sent away .The clinic has change drastically for the better .
