Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 120)

Updated

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

I agree that there seem to be some really sadistic people in the industry that makes and provides our medication. There are lots of people who take oxycodone, and the oxycodone that's manufactured by KVK Tech is garbage. Doesn't transmit the opiate to your central nervous system in a timely fashion. The pharmacies are well aware of this problem, but because of their profit margin, keep forcing people to accept a medication that doesn't work.

Glad your phone lines are back working LOL. The road grader and the snow plow dig up our lines several times a year and we are then without any service at all. Last repair, they crossed the lines and my neighbor was getting our calls and we theirs :)

The memorial service went well yesterday. Turned out that I knew the pastor, so after the service I had a great conversation with him. So a positive out of a negative for me. The children all seemed to hold up fine (the grandmother on their mothers side is who passed).
The grandchildren were wonderful and even the 11 month old twins were well behaved during the service.

So...does he have an ulcer....or an actual hole? One...will heal if properly treated and managed....it just takes a while. The other requires surgical repair....but the recovery is much quicker.

He has an actual hole but won't do surgery. My husband was afraid we would lose everything. I would go back to work under table as a nurse but they frown on the nurse sicker than the clients. We lost our big maintenance account but I have my husband will get by.

Your husband seemed very happy about a new contract he had just gotten. Would being off for a surgery have messed up his new contract? I can understand him not wanting to do that, but on the other hand he does have to take care of his health, cause if it goes, he won't be able to do any work. Also I'm sure you depend on him.

Wendy,
Sometimes I get really confused on this website and when things post. Your last post just showed up at 7am this morning. It didn't seem to have any content that would cause them to review it. I keep wondering what determines them holding it, or is it just totally random?

This is a general question for everyone. I took that trip to Denver for the meeting, which was totally worth the pain to me. I've been having a hard time since I got back. Now for the question LOL
Is the weather being colder at night causing anyone else to have an extremely high pain level? I feel like I should have been long past the "trip" pain, and also my disabled friend is having the same problems I am. How about any of you? Colder at night is the only change that I'm aware of. Any little thing seems to set me off on the wrong path.
Saturday morning we had to go to DIA to pick up our daughter for the memorial service, but I was having problems before that. Sat. didn't help anything of course, but it isn't to blame for this.

WENDY...GET BACK TO ME PLZ HUN

Good News/Bad News... I got a new job as Project Coordinator for a fire safety company. So far been there 1 1/2 days and thumbs up. I'm not saying anymore until my initial 90 days is up at which time I will get full medical and a 5k raise. And days in the near future where I can work from home on bad days.

Maybe bad..my doc is getting alot of heat and we have are discussing possible other options not cuz of anything I did..just cuz IlI require higher doses to have any chance of staying employed. Wish me well. Will update later.

Hi, All! Tomorrow morning I go in to have a nerve ablation for my si joint... I'm super nervous because last time I had one, I was SO uncomfortable for several days after. At this point though, my pain meds aren't working any more, so I hope this procedure works.
I hope everyone is doing okay... Sending a little {{hug}} to you all!

A lot of my post on our group gets tossed as well. Susie, Tom was happy it was a half million dollar contract, work for the next ten yrs. It was to much, working 50/60 hrs week than running our business. They gave him a promotion today, he is superintendent of the company, He runs all crews. The salary they are giving him per week is more than my ssi yearly. I can finally own more than one pair of pants. When we meet up for group let's do pot luck, we can all hang out and visit. Can everyone let me know when their free

Rainbow you know you can legally get it anywhere and if you go to a dispensary and tell them what type of pain you are dealing with they should be able to help you find the right strain for you. If you want a medical card you have to find a Dr. and get an examination and then pay for the card. The cannabis is cheaper because there is less tax, but you already paid a Dr and the license fee.

I read your comment and felt for you so much! Be luck you're in the Denver area , because Im in Durango & even though Ive been disabled since 1998 (I was very young too when I became ill) & all the Drs look at me like Im an abomination! Ive never abused anything, bt apparently a handful of docs who know nothing about real chronic pain! I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy!
However, I may have some good news, no promises, bt look up Dr, Cambe in the Boulder area. I believe its the Mapleton Center?? Anyway, they are amazing there & really understand pain & dont make you feel like your a drug addict! Its shameful how docs treat ppl w issues they dont understand! They dismiss us! Best of luck & hope you heal soon!

Wendy... What happened? And, I think that would be true anyway for people needing continuous heavy doses... We've seen that w every pcp and that's why pain mgts are so popular now. I don't get anything beyond hydro... And hopefully I won't need it after my procedure yesterday... But I do feel for the others :(. This is such a ridiculous issue!
