Doctors Who Will Prescribe Xanax In San Antonio, Tx (Page 6)

I recently moved to San Antonio, TX and need to find a local doctor that will prescribe me xanax for my anxiety.

You would probably have to see an actual psychiatrist. In 2021 I’m pretty sure regular PCP’s can’t or won’t prescribe anxiety medication.

I am not in Texas, but my prescriber does not care if I use medical marijuana.
If you take prescription pain medication or if you drink alcohol they will most likely not prescribed to you

Just get a psychiatrist where you live. If you’ve already been receiving a prescription from someone else You probably won’t have a problem.

But you shouldn’t have to go there every time you need a refill. Just use a chain pharmacy that’s located where you live and you can order your refills over the phone. I would fill the first prescription in California, then order the refills from your local pharmacy. And I only say that because California has different rules for the prescription pads and when I took a prescription from New Hampshire to California they couldn’t fill it because it didn’t have certain things in a prescription pad that California requires.

Why don’t you just go see a psychiatrist? If you’ve been on these medication they’ll probably just give them to you.

Regular doctors don’t prescribe this medication anymore. You have to see a psychiatrist. Not sure what state you’re in, but a lot of them have community mental health centers, they’re pretty gross if you’re used to having an actual private doctor, but they’ll be a lot more affordable than a private psychiatrist.

I have been on Xanax XR for several years with my Psych Doc in SA… he is great but would never prescribe Xanax Initially. You have to go thru multiple other meds first…. Caution: Benzodiazepines are EXTREMELY HARD to get off. Hence, why Docs are hesitant to prescribe and only if you truly have GAD ( Generalized Anxiety Disorder). Good luck

Sadly the user "GCubed" has not responded to anyone on here for years. They are likely long gone or were lying to begin with. I suggest we work together to share options for other doctors. Trying to get a referral from my GP right now but open to ideas.

I know this is a long shot but I'm currently prescribed 1mg of clonazepam a day for agoraphobia and it's the most they'll prescribe because it's state funded and they normally won't even give out benzos. If you had any information on a doctor who could help me out I'd be eternally greatful. Thank you in advance. And if you can't help thank you anyways.

I jus remembered he used to be my doctor years ago before I ever had any issues... I remember him being ex military if I recall. he was a pretty good doc. wish I still had good health insurance like I used to back then

Im in san antonio tx and i have gad anxiety panic attacks, ptsd, bipolardiorder syco something. My drs dont want to prescribe cause i told them i use to take it and icud control myself and just that one helps me then all 6 they already havre and dont do anything like my xanax or alprazolam. I need them i cant even sleep i go 7 or more days with out sleeping help me i have superior insurance n medicaid..!!!Sarah Hernandez
