Doctors Who Prescribe Pain Killers In Philadelphia (Top voted first)
UpdatedHi,
My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.
Hey, send me an email, I dont wanna throw his name on a public forum just in case he happens to read these lol. In fact if anyone wants to email me for my old Dr who did write, then feel free. He will write but if he gets his balls twisted or you dont comply with his every demand he will totally cut you off and wash his hands of you, leaving you to suffer horrible withdrawl. I passed every random drug test and did comply. The test he gives will even show if u snuck in a vicodin instead of a percocet...it will tell the amount of oxycodone in your system as well as the acetomenophin (sp?) in your system. Its a very advanced form of a drug test. But I will gladly give you his name and info, email me.
Did you ever find a doctor in philadelphia. My doctor stop prescribing me too. I am in soo much pain i have a disclocated should and a hernia coming out my groin which causes alot of painb on the daily basis. Any suggestions
My Dr. did the same. I am now 30 years old but at 20 I was in a near death car accident and have worked at UPS for 10 years which in itself is very physical. I have spinal cord damage, degenerative disc disease, 6 herniated and 2 bulging in my neck, a bunch more in the lumbar region and sciatica. For 7 years I refused my Drs narcotic scripts. Finally I had to give in. Every time I went to see him he would increase me, without my asking. I was getting 60 80mg oxycontin (the op version) and 150 percocet 10/325. I voluntarily took myself off of the oxycontin. He had even suggested morphine, fentynal etc. I always declined. Back in late Oct of 2011, I informed him that I felt my tolerance to the 10/325s was increasing. His solution was to send me to a suboxone dr. Yet I never abused my meds and was always honest. It was he who told me in exact words "you're going to be on narcotic pain relievers for life, no Ifs ands or buts about it. Now I had to quit my job bc I could no longer endure the physical strain and have no ins, I've resorted to having to get them off the street which is costing a fortune and killing my self esteem. I'm on a mission to find a compassionate dr and if I do I will definitely inform you guys and if anyone else does, please post!!
who was your dr, i have 4 brain anuerysms, a brain coil and two briain stents and suffer from completely debilitating headaches, coming fromny, i need to find a dr who prescribes pain meds for pain such as oxycodone so i can function.
i had a similair prob. i did not want a daily dose, ust enough to make my lower lumbar feel better. I cn suggest 600 mg of IB Profin. But the percocets or maybe a slight muscle relaxer can help.i really nned that doctors number though bc i need them for my lumbar which allows me to not to drive
Hey guys, I have no problem giving out the info, I just didnt want to post his name on here in case he or any of his colleagues happen to check these forums. I keep trying to post my damn email and even tried to post my phone number and the phone number of the dr. This site keeps deleting the info....and Mike from Pitt, I never stored your number properly to my sim and my phone got smashed so when I got a new phone your number wasnt there. So feel free to call again....and to everyone else Im gonna try to break it up and send me a text tomorrow after 10am....its two six seven

To the doctor who wants to help: that's easy to say when you haven't had excruciating chronic pain since you were 5 years old, waking up in the middle of the night, screaming and crying because the pain is unbearable. I am now 26, i have the joints of an 80 year old and I am not a drug addict, I don't take pain meds everyday HOWEVER, once a week, maybe twice a week when I can't get out of bed to get to work pain killers DO help. They stop the pain. They allow me to get through the day instead of laying in bed crying. You obviously have never dealt with the burden, the frustration, the depression of chronic pain. The feeling that life may not be worth living when you are constantly miserable from horrible pain. The world is not black and white, studies are not everything. A great doctor knows that there are grey areas and has empathy for his patients.
I'm not saying that pain killers are not sometimes overly prescribed and I sure as hell am not saying that they are not abused. I can even agree that some of the people on this board sound like addicts. However, you can't say that all of these people do not need these meds to function. How exactly do you expect someone to exercise or meditate when they are crippled with pain? I'd love to know.
It is so easy to judge others.
Douglas, I posted a reply to you with my email address bc I have no problem giving you the info but I didnt want to put the drs name in here in case he reads these by chance....when I submitted my reply it said it would have to be reviewed before being posted. Try sending one back to me with your email. Bc Thats the only reason I can think of as to why they would have to review it before posting.
Dr. Wean in media pa !!! Stright up pill mill!!!! He will give u what ever u want. Or dr coachi in philadelphia. There both cash only doctors who write scripts for Oxy 30s and oxy 15s. ....Good luck !!!!
How can anyone get help on here if u cannot exchange information. I mean really we or peopleu like us need help. Information
I need that doctor to pleezzzz
Bella...i got u for that info...thnx:)
I'm sorry, but that is horrible advice. Dr. Wean is a drug dealer, he did not care about my injuries, mri's he did not take my blood.pressure,.height or weight. He ONLY asked if I paid the $300 at the front desk I did bc I don't have ins he wrote me out a script for 180 thirty mil oxycocones!! Then said to come monthly for the scripts for $200! I was in pain but needed to be assessed. Starting somebody out on that strong meds is insane. Just read all the reviews on Wean, I believe he is now under investigation. It's Drs like him that are hurting the real Drs that need to help out real chronic pain patients!! He is a disgrace. When I wanted my records, just to be a smart ass really bc I knew he wouldn't have them, his rude disgusting staff got all frazzled and said I couldn't get them!!I said it's my right, so I called my new REAL Dr on the spot they called Weans office had my records faxed, my Drs office was appalled, called Weans office and asked why were there only a few scripts written, why not blood pressure, height and weight etc they hung up!! If you're looking for a drug dealer then yes Wean is your man.
Docter Nilesh Patel will prescribe you anything you need as long as you don't abuse it that it. If you smoke cannabis or don't take your medicines the correct way then don't bother going to this doctor. You will get UA's to make sure you're playing by the rules.
Greater Phila Spine & Pain
They are on Township Line Rd, which is what City Line Ave turn into. They are great....
thank u Linda for posting one in addition to the one I posted I'm starting to think some of these people want to double dip or just grab a doc who doesn't want any type of history and will just give them to anybody if I'm wrong people correct me but three or four people posted places and nobody thanked anybody oR even said they went for help and got meds am I wasting my time trying to help people
I know a Dr but you gotta have your script bottles. I went yesterday, his assistant did everything he basically came in looked at my scripts, gave me referrals and wrote refills for all of them. He's very compassionate and wants to help with whatever issues your javing. God finally answered my prayers...
Dr Steven Schmidt Mt Airy Pratice Washinhtone Lane, go as walk in cause appts take 2 weeks
Tigerett, I must agree that DEA had messed up so many ppl in Severe Chronic Pain. How can the medical profession allow DEA to control all the Chronic pain Dr's treating with opiates. I'm 60 & have had weak bones since my 40s. My body seems to be absorbing my body's bone. I had a pain dr tell me that he could make my damaged 60 yr old body to a healthy state. Dr's only fear DEA & don't want to look at an older woman in chronic pain enough to treat with opiates so I can function in my small apt. I'll never be able to do therapy as he wants & don't want to look at real life of a 60 yr old other than lie through their teeth & say they can make my 60 yr old body stronger! Most women's body's do (even healthy women) fail over age 50. I've got osteoporosis now on top of failed neck surgery & big surgery to save my rt. leg. Since my osteoporosis my back is unbearable. Cant eat or sleep. I can't even get help to sleep. That would be RELIEF AT LEAST while sleeping but I get no help. DEA is not a medical profession. Check out statistics on opiate use & OD due to illicit drugs have increased since the DEA got involved in chronic pain. See if I'm lying?
Its wonderful yet completely sad that others are suffering like me. Let me clarify, its comforting to see I'm not aloe but do sad that others are suffering. I have severe nerve damage due to misplaced
Epidural during my sons delivery. Also suffering from slipped disks from car accident in 08'. I was going to Dr. In Manayunk. He moved to Hershey, PA. Hoping I can get info too. Thanks for your selflessness .
