I am addicted to strong pain meds and I am tired of having to come off of them, the withdrawal is awful. I went to a urgent care doc and was prescribed suboxone. I take anxiety meds too but he wants me to stop. I really need the anxiety meds but he wants me off them. How do I get him to change it from suboxone to methadone so I can take my anxiety meds?

I take 60 mg of methadone and 40mg of of valium both prescribed by the same doctor so it is not illegal

That's BS, Chad! I see a pain management doctor & yes he gives me oxycodone & methadone for pain! He also knows that I see a psychiatrist for depression & anxiety & I take Xanax. But, the good thing about it is, that I know what to take, when to take it & how much to take & what I can take it with. Now, doctors do write methadone scripts for pain & even to people who take benzo's. You just have to know what you're doing when you take them.

Dude u will not be taking any benzo on methadone unless u live in northern states like ny n have a script u down south forget it they will drop u like it's nothing, I know firsthand

If you've been taking pain medication for awhile you are addicted... If you just stop taking them you will get sick...

I have chronic pain and I have been using methadone since 2010. The hospital I go to in Seattle is private I was told the rules changed and that I need to go to a pain specialist who they chose a psychiatrist he will only let me have oxycodone with my methadone. Which makes no sense to mix 2 drugs. I have Medicare insurance and I think they just want to get rid of me. I wanted to go to my neurologist, but my GP said no that he was not a specialist? I do not know what is going on but I think I am being lied to. Everything was ok until I told my GP I had tailbone pain. Where can I find a pain specialist in Seattle or Tacoma who will treat me for pain? They have methadone clinics here in WA
but only for iv.drug abusers? What am I suppose to do? My GP said he could not do anything unless this specialist he sent me to said so and the specialist said the GP can do what he wants they are NOT telling me the truth. And this all just started. Where can I find my own specialist outside that hospital to give me a diagnoses and to prescribe?

Well your wrong on one matter a private physician CAN write for methadone/suboxon if it is thru a pain management center meaning it doesn't have to be a methadone clinic. Now the answer to your question a lot of doctors will not right for a benzo because it can cause respiratory problems on respiratory failure because the combination of the benzos and the methadone the slow down their breathing there for enabling you to possibly have a overdose that is the answer to your question want your doctor will not write a benzo

Are you a vet? I have chronic pain and recently I now have tailbone pain which is worse than the chronic pain.
My doctor has not given me a diagnoses and refused a MRI. So now I can have a MRI, but he sent me to see a so called specialist psychiatrist who is rude and refused to tell me what he thought caused my pain? My GP chose this MD and I was railroaded into seeing him and was told that I could not go to my neurologist?! I got my records and he psychiatrist wrote negative stuff about me? I want to see some one who will help me not make up things about me? I am a vet and I thought I might get better care at VA, but I heard bad things about VA and long wait list. DO you think the VA could help me? I live in Washington state close to Ft. Lewis and American Lake.

I know a guy that had a messed up back and his Dr. gave him methadone. 10 mg white pills. And methadone is methadone, it's just that the liquid is faster acting and I don't think it lasts as long as the big wafers, ugh gross lol.

My kinfolk live in Pascagoula, Mississippi. In the 80s they had no clinics in that state, so my cousin drove to Mobile, Alabama on days he needed to go. Said it took åbout 45min. So I know there are clinics in that state. Good luck

I have been on oxycodone and oxycontin for years. I had a call for a pill count on thursday but i had a appt on friday, so i went in friday with my 6 pills i had left because my appt was friday. I was having back surgery Monday and on Friday he let me go and gave me my last script. It's 6 weeks recovery, so how in the world can i find a new Doctor? Why i am on these meds is because i got into a car accident and broke my neck and much more things.
