Doctors In Pa That Prescribe Oxycodone (Page 30)
UpdatedI need a doctor in the pgh area. I have had 11 back surgeries, chronic pain and anxiety. My pcp gave me a month to find one... Please help.
nikki and carmine are you guys gonna awnswer swish 3 question.....i dont have a awnswer for her because shes up your way does she go to the same doctor we go to? At my office we were told not to give out the days the owner is working those 2 days a week at each location but if the intrested party wants to call the individual office of pain managment they will eventually get an appointment with him....if its him thats truly needed in the situation.
I'm not asking for your docs info. I'm too far away anyway. However. Could you guys please help me to find a doc that will write pain Med's. I have all the documentation. Well proof of surgeries and what not. I just don't know how to find a doc. My docs records are no. Existent being as my last doc was closed and my records were seized. And the doctor I had before going to that one fell and broke his hip and closed down. The really ducked up part is I just plucked a name out of the yellow pages after he broke his hip. And got a doctor that was a writer. He got busted and now I think that's over my head. If you guys could help if be forever in your debt. Thank you
Antman
Lol well nikki called him the "drunk doc" and it was so funny cause shes right so thats why we refer to him like that.. i guess it cause he moves awardly or kinda stumble n when he talks it just all remimds us of a drunk person.. AND THANK YOU ANTMAN I APPRECIATE U UNDERSTANDING WHERE IM COMMIMG FROM WHEN I WROTE THAT TO YOU...... And as for SWISH ur doc said domt give out the days and i feel like that should apply here to.......so let me ask u a question we know we see diff docs but cause they visit other places the drunk doc said i was suppose to have a consultation with the other guy cause he would be willing to write more.... u think thats true
Carmine,
I'm not sure what you're asking me, sorry for the confusion. I dont yet go to the same practice as you, but I plan to. I live in the area and put 2 and 2 together (Again,No need to worry about me saying anything). My question was is there any day(s) that work better when going for pain management? and out of the 2 doctors is there one who's better to see? I was asking about the consultation wondering if thats how you start off being seen there and what it entails.
not past 4 a day....60 per 2 weeks...ive never seen it i my be wrong...but ive never seen it and at least 30 people have told me what they get not one of them got over 4 a day matter of fact half of them only got 3 a day. so your in his favorites list....believe that...when it comes to the good stuff... now the weaker ones im sure alot get four a day of those...i mean they are not that strong 2 or 3 of those wouldnt be proper pain managment u need it at least every 6 hours.. if your used to them...and built up tolerance all they do is take away the pain....im lucky cause me and my brother both are in pain managment...also my father has cancer hes in it too...but i do notice a strictness ive never seen with him before EVERYBODY at my practice is saying it....but i forgot one thing if your the one with all the broken bones if u do consult with him try 5 a day or every 4-5 hours if he still wants to just do the 60 and keep it at 4 a day this way u would be able to go 2 days early.
Antman,
Thanks, that's a good idea. I will try that and yes I am the one with between 65 n 75 broken bones n that doesn't count the 3 degenerated discs and 2 discs that have too much pressure on them and push on my sciatic nerve... I'm pretty much a f***ing mess and I just turned 37 but I feel like I'm 90.
Eleven surgeries is insane! My mother had 3 and died at 64. You are lucky. God bless you. I'm writing because I'm also near Pittsburg, PA. in Monroeville and experiencing the same issue.
Carmine and Nikki,
The reason I'm asking about days is because I'm not sure if pain management is only dedicated to certain days of the week. Also would like to know what I can expect during the initial visit. Sure wish there was an easier way to talk to you other than here, would make things a lot more convenient. Like I've said before, I'm located in the same area and fully intend to give this practice a shot. There aren't too many options around here for pain treatment., and I just can't do it on my own anymore. Take me under your wing. I'm trustworthy, you have nothing to worry about as far as me telling anyone. I know you may be hesitant, but Put a little faith in a stranger. You'll quickly realize how nice and trustworthy a person I really am. Is there any other ways we can possibly communicate?
PS- Nikki how have you been feeling?
Atntman, I'm a guy lol. But I assure you this is a service I absolutely need. Was just trying t get some more help on the topic / practice.
swish 3 u said u put it togther....like the wheel of fortune lol.....so call the office and ask them whats required for your first visit....if they take your insurance or not as they have other options if they dont take your insurance.....but since its painmanagment refrring to is it everyday...the name pain managment practice....should give u the awnswer to that call them tomorrow.....ask them.....i dont know which days they take new patients or if they take new patients anymore so call n ask ok?
Hi Cindy. I'm steve. I'm in the burgh area as well. Perhaps we can help each other out. It's so hard to have docs take me seriously. I'm 40 but I look a lot younger. Also I'm not sure but I think that they can somehow see that I had a doctor that was a writer. I can't believe how bad my luck has been with this. I had no problems getting them until Herndon, my last doctor got busted. I had all my records from previous doctors. Like the one before him. He fell and broke his hip and closed his practice. So I can't get any of my doctors records anymore. So between not having doctor visit records and having a doctor that went to jail. I'm having a hard time finding a doctor that takes me seriously with just my mri's and op reports in handy. Ima put my number in here so we can talk outside of here. It won't be all at once but hidden throughout messages I send. Four One it will be a sure way Two get it to you. I'm sure you'll be able to put it together. I'll send another one later after you reply
Well Carmine and Antman, the dreaded happened yesterday. I went in for my appt and the drunk doc came into the room, he didnt make any eye contact so I already knew where this was going, he told me that they got multiple calls about me selling my meds and asked me if I was!? I told him I was pretty insulted that they would even insinuate that, I said I've always had oxycodone in my system so why would I sell it just to rebuy it, that makes no sense? He looked at my paperwork and mumbled oh yeah yeah...then he told me that bupe (suboxone) came up in my system twice since in the past 2 months! I told him I never touched that stuff, he said well it's in your system, where are you getting it from? I said my drug panel must have gotten mixed up with someone else's because I NEVER and i repeat NEVER touched that stuff, so he told me he could no longer give me any of my oxycodone or pain meds, but he COULD, however, prescribe me Subutex (which i can buy at the office?). I started crying and he told me I am welcome to come back and see the owner but it won't do me any good because neither of them are going to risk their liscense perscribing me oxy anymore and then told me he had an office full of patients to basically get out. In conclusion I told him that I'm not a drug addict, I am there for pain and he said "don't tell me Subutex doesn't work for pain, I know it does!" I'm extreamly upset and I feel there is something way bigger going on here. Could it be that they are trying to push their pain mgmt patients onto subs because they found some kind of lupehool to sell them in the office and are making buku bucks! I don't believe anyone called about me selling meds because no one even knows what I practice I go to!? HELP!
SEE POST BELOW....
I obviously don't want to be in withdrawal so I thought about giving the subs a try but the lady at the desk said once she enters that into the system it's going to be very hard for me to find a new pain mgmt dr. I do not want or need this. I am just so distraught and upset about this whole thing. If I actually messed up and took something I wasn't supposed to I can understand this happening but I've never taken a sub in my life. And when I told the dr someone's test must have gotten mixed up with mine he basically rolled his eyes and gave me the "that's what everyone says look"....Should I go back and try talking to the owner despite what others have said about me not really getting anywhere? And what happens if I try the subs and it doesn't take away my pain? Then I am screwed? Oh and Swish3, someone called about being a new pain mgmt patient when I was there and I overheard them telling the person they weren't taking any new pain patients. If you wanna deal with this kind of f***ery, give it a try, idk, I thought they were a pretty good practice up till this!
Wow, that's absolutely awful. To me it almost seems like what you said, that they'd rather people go on the subs for some reason. Was that the only time you ever had something abnormal come up during a drug panel? Was this today? I was gonna say maybe you can find a test to purchase, but I know not all of them contain the bupe panel, and prove it in front of him. That really puts you in a tough place, I'm sorry to hear this. I imagine if you did go on subs, it'd be quite hard to get pain meds again down the line. I'll be honest I've tried them for pain before. There can be some relief but idk how it would compare to the meds you were on. I also never really took more than a quarter or half at a time, never a whole pill, so not sure of that reaction. I wonder if I'd be better off just going as a walk-in and saying I have pain in these areas, I'm just looking for a second opinion and someone to review my tests. Idk. I hate living like this, it sucks. Nikki, are you from the same area as where your dr is? I'm located there as well.
Nikki... that is so horrible sweetheart, I am so sorry this is happening to you. Of course it's bullcrap that several people called your office and told them you were selling your meds. Like people just know where you go for pain management, I mean come on that is utterly ridiculous. Obviously something is going on with that office and they are trying to get rid of people. You are so better off trying to find another doctor's office sweetheart. Just wanted to tell you I'm so sorry for what you're going through and I pray you can find another doctor that will help you. So many of us are getting so screwed over and we need to stick together. My doctor is in Philadelphia - if I can help and give you his name please let me know. He is very strict though I will tell you and goes by the letter of the law and you will not get a lot of medicine from him, but until you can find someone that will give you what you need maybe you can go to him. Please let me know if I can help.
Hi Niki. I'm steve. How long ago did you test+ for subs?... I'd go in and demand a retest. that is if you haven't taken any. It takes 5-10 days to exit your system depending on the dosage and how often you took them. As far as subs and pain goes. It does help with pain but not quite as good. I prefer pain meds. I too was told about getting pain meds after being in the sub program. I had no problem getting them again. However, I self medicated for 2-3 yrs before trying. As far as no one going to your pain clinic that knows about your so called selling them. That doesn't matter. If someone got busted by the pd, they could've snitched and the pd coulda went to your doctor to see how many you get and so on. Also, the doc may be thinking that you're selling most of your meds, getting a couple subs to get you thru, then taking some of your script to have them in your system. But if I were you, I'd def make that apt with the owner. I'd tell him what you said on here. That you've never taken subs before and you want another test right now. And when you talk to him. Be sure to mention that you have talked to people/person; who had taken subs before (not presently, you don't want him to think that you have access to them), and that they said that they did help. But not as well as the pain meds. Not to mention the fact that subs are used to get people off of opiates and they're not meant to be taken long term. Hopefully I have helped you out. If you can possibly help me, that'd be awesome. I have the proper documentation. Well most of it. It's a long story. I'd have no problem telling you if you wanna hear though. But I don't have doctors records. The only records I have are opp reports, mri's and meds I have been prescribed before. I need to find a doctor in the pittsburgh area. I don't want to go to dif doctors and make it look like I'm doctor shopping. I just moved back from Florida about a year ago and I can't self medicate anymore.
Oh, and also, they do make a lot of money on subs. Taking that into consideration with the fact that the government doesn't take your license away for prescribing them makes an all too compelling case not to. P.s.s. Lol. if on your appointment date to get refills for your meds, they can't just say that you're done, get out. They have to wean you off. Which essentially means getting your meds one more time. They just change how you're supposed to take them. Remember it's illegal for them to just stop your meds. So if they insist on kicking you out, make sure that they wean you off. They have to. They may try to get away with it. But if you say something, I'm sure you'll get your last one. Damn. There was something else I wanted to say but forgot. As soon as I post this I know I'm going to remember it. Lmao. Lisa, you're right. We do need to stick together. It's bulls*** that people are out there still who don't need them, who are getting them to either sell them or feel high. And those of us who actually need the medication can't get it. They make it virtually impossible. I don't understand how this is possible.... at all. It's crazy. Anyway. Sorry about that, I needed to vent a little.
Denwrestler. Sorry honey but that's not cool of you to give her some advice that she already knows and then ask her to help you out by revealing her dr. That's just not cool.
Sorry. You misunderstood me. I'm not even located In Your area. I live on the other side of the state. As far as the advice. Again I apologize. I thought got that's what she was asking about
Nikki,
I'm so srry to hear that... I've always wondered what they were selling at the counter. Do u have anything prior in ur record where u had something u werent suppose to have?.......And as for if u do decide to go on the subs, I do belive it is harder to find a pm doctor.... I feel so bad for you.
