Doctors In Pa That Prescribe Oxycodone (Page 23) (Top voted first)

I need a doctor in the pgh area. I have had 11 back surgeries, chronic pain and anxiety. My pcp gave me a month to find one... Please help.

I agree with Nikki. Even if you are on the subs for pain management, I imagine most doctors do not go that route unless the patient is admittedly at high risk for abuse/addiction. If you want to discontinue subs in favor of more traditional pain medication, I probably wouldn't disclose that info, unless absolutely necessary. I'm not sure if it will turn up somewhere else for them to see. It's hard enough finding a doctor to take your pain seriously and feel comfortable prescribing certain meds. I imagine that factor would increase their hesitance in prescribing. Just my opinion.

Nikki,
So unfair. I was forced to go on suboxone bc of my pain dr suddenly shutting down & giving NO referrals. I hate to lie about the situation but ur probably right and damn it its so unfair. The brown st dr i hear he only gives Norco 10mg. But of coarse thry wont start me out on anything high dose off the bat. This hole thing sucks. Don't know wht to do. My insuramce jas beem payimg for the sub for the last 8 months Dr appt and rx so i maybe screwed period with insurance paying for rx
Sigh......just the thought of spending the rest of my life in pain coukd make me cry

Then Sheri the Dr someone else recommended is Dr Perez in Brown St in East Stroudsburg. If u go see him plz let me know how it goes

@Nikki, WOW only $80 every 2 weeks! Thats great! I paid $210 every 30 days. But next to nothing for my rx. U have a good Dr, jold on to that one. Geeze wish i could find one for that fee.....and gave me the meds i need & know that work for me

I have the same one nikki has thats 80 per 2 weeks........hes been great but i would never give his information out he has enough patients already....another plus is my doctor owns all his pain managment practices...ive had him for three years... no pill counts as id never take a doctor with pill counts....cuz were always in pain u never know when a few extra is needed.... if u really want and need your narcotic pain meds then u will search till u find one...and u never stop searching for instance i had a pain doctor who was giving me 10 millogram oxycodone i made the decision to leave him...for a doctor that i found on my own just from doing research and reading signs paying attention to EVERYTHING pain managment....now i get 30s....4 times a day.....nobody told me i found him on my own....if u want a doc bad enough ull find one!!!

@antman, I wasnt asking for u or Nikki to give me ur doc info. I dont blame u for not giving out his info on line to someone u dont know, I wouldnt either, i had a great dr too for years, no counts & prescibed me 6 30's a day! But he found himself in some trouble & lost his license.....put me & a bunch of other legit patients in a horrible predicament....
as far as"searching until i find the right pain mngt dr " that's easier said then done. Insurance frowns upon jumping from dr to dr especially pain mngt, even tho i think it mkes sense to leave a dr and look for another if ur not happy, and i def cant afford jumping from expensive pain mangt dr to the next, the inital pmt is always the highest. Sigh.....

I bought some Kratom yesterday i hear its comparable to opiates, I dont agree but thrn again i bought it from a local head shop, might order something more authentic online.

I did call 2 pain drs in area one isnt excepting new pts & tge other only take Medicare, which i dont have.
Do u & Nikki live in the Stroudsburg area?

Do u go to the same Dr as nikki.. and if so how did that happen, that u ended up at the same place....

If u need a place to order kratom from... order it from smart kratom..... they're absolutely amazing... and their product is always fresh and the top of the line.. I've turned a few people on to smart kratom, because they had the same experience as if u bought it from a local headshop and it was s***. All 3 people have used it to come off opiates, and different strains do different things. Well I wish everyone luck.

Tara, i'll give u some clues willowgrove...northeast philly....mongomeryville.... there's hundreds of pain doctors in all 3 areas but if u need a good one read profiles and reviews, check ratings n you will stumble across clues that will show u where to find a compassionate pain doctor. I will not release any other clues......it will take a little digging. There's 15-20 percent of your search. I hope u can put it together. If u do stumble across anything tara don't put it on here...u will find her or him...

@ Carmine, thanks for the kratom info. I will most definitely look into the site/brand u mentioned.
How many grams do u take per dose? Fingers crossed it works well for me too ??

@ Antman, thank u for ur info to!!. The towns u mentioned are pretty far from me 90-120 mins far....im in Stroudsburg, the Poconos. But again thank u very much for sharing ??. U never know i may have to travel that far to find the right Dr( compassionate & understanding )

Well I'm glad ur getting some relief... What's funny is the drunk doctor told me that the other doctor would be willing to up my dose. We were suppose to have a consultation with the guy u see, but it never happened... Then some how I failed for illicit drugs two months ago which was ridiculous.. I told the doc from the beginning that someone gave me drugs like 10 yrs ago and I f***ed him up.... I said that's the only time I did it. The labs cut off number is 10 for opioids and I had a 12... Well he musta saw the sincerity in my face when he told me I failed for it.... He said we will see what the new test comes back with... N it came back that I didn't do it..

My first doc use to use that lab but changed because they always had false readings.. So all in all I guess I'm feeling a little better but the doses I take now are way lower, but it has been giving me relief but ur right the morphine extended release are s***. They don't do nutting for me either, but u gotta make sure u always have it in ur system even if u have to suffer to make sure u have them when u go in and after a couple visits of u having it in ur system, maybe he will change his tone... If I could have 1 or 2 more 30s a day n maybe try a different extended relief I think I can manage the pain... I guess I will see. Good luck everyone.. And I hope you have been keeping your word with me and not giving out that info.... You happened to get lucky u were the last person on here I helped... B4 I was told I shouldn't n e more.... Actually I did bring a close friend there, he goes this fri with me. He just had another major surgery so I'm just trying to help him also.

@Nikki- I agree 100% the MS Contin is worthless, completely worthless no matter the strenght. And u would think they woukd be happy ur asking to get Off it! They have to know it sucks! I wish u all the luck on ur next appt. *can I suggest u asking for Opana along with ur oxy 15 regime? Opana is a wonderdul long acting pain med imo.

Scranton isnt very far from me, i think i will start researching pain mngt Drs there too

Nikki, to me he's compassionate because he's liberal and he does write u the medicine...he writes me the medicine (our much needed narcotics)....our foreign md is compassionate in that way.... Also once and a blue moon if u mess up on a drug panel with something simple (nothing major like illegal drugs)....he'll let it slide.... That's compassionate....but i know somebody that came up positive for illicit drugs and she was discharged immediately.... He also has to be strict in situations but that's not really his demeanor. He doesn't say much but he generally means well. I'm telling u nikki u will never find somebody like him....ill promise u that. He could charge so much more but doesn't.... He didn't run away back in the day when there was a shake up.... He's in it for the long run... He's compassionate in that way...he may not be able to spend a half an hour like other doctors in his practice but he'll lend an ear when it comes to the main reason you're there..PAIN MANAGEMENT... They dont make em like him anymore nikki. I pray every night for him and the practices...we need our meds...

ms contin is worthless no matter what the stregnth it sucks....methadone is better than ms contin and thats pretty sad...

Antman - yep same doc, haha! How long have you been going there if you don't mind me asking? I just started seeing him in December! He is a good doctor, I just need him to adjust my meds. Hopefully that's coming soon!

Nikki - since december of 2014 that's almost 3 years.....I have to see him every other friday every 2 weeks in either the willowgrove practice or the montgomeryville practice. Since he's the owner he goes to each practice literally one day per week, maybe 2 and that's it. If u dont catch him u get somebody else.... And that isn't always good... A lot of times they wanna cut you or scold u on your u/a levels.... I bring the girls food and 24 packs of spring water and coffee all the time.... Some of my family members get pain management from him also... Just one actually... My dad and mom just see him occasionally for other things unrelated to pain management. We bring him a lot of income but in my eyes he deserves it, he's not a coward.

I was hoping you may be able to share ur doc s info I have records and even the guy I see now feels bad but gives me what bare minimum he can give me and it not helping at all he even said to try to find another dr. Because he's been serviced by the dea and now he only does inj. Which I can't have anymore.
