I need a doctor in the pgh area. I have had 11 back surgeries, chronic pain and anxiety. My pcp gave me a month to find one... Please help.

Thank you for your reply. I actually called the one in Allentown and was told that they do not accept state medical and since I have insurance that they do not accept they won't allow me to pay cash which I thought was crazy! But I will check with the other

yeah the started me at 15s it was a fight just to get me to 20s 4x a day and morphine er 30 mg twice a day.. the guy I see there is the Oldman with white hair he told me there is a different doctor there that possible would make my does higher so I'm assuming it's the one ur seeing cause he told me that he is there Mondays and Tuesday..... Hey do me a favor don't give out the place I gave u because I was told from a friend that's a nurse that giving out names on here will cause issues I helped you because I felt like u gave me all the right answers b4 I chose to give u the name...... well I'm glad ur happy with the treatment ur getting there ur the second person I helped on here... I want to help more but after what I was told it's not a good idea.. when do u go again because I told the doc I see that I wanted to talk to the other Doc so I'm gonna see bout talking to that doctor... the one I see said I'm already giving u more then I feel comfortable... it's a joke I've broke close to 70 or 75 bones my back in two spots the list goes on

Don't worry carmine. I don't give it out. I've been referring people to my old docs but not at all to the place we go to now. So question....the morphine...how did you get that too. How do you get something like that long lasting. I need something else long lasting but I'm afraid to ask. Did you ask? My friends gets 20s and OP 40's 1 a day for breakthrough pain or whatever you call it. But I just am not sure how to ask for something else, help.

And carmine my first appt there I saw the old guy with the white hair, he was very nice, but wasn't very idk....just seemed out there n spacey, LMFAO, I actually thought he was drunk or something he kept stumbling. He hasn't been back since every Monday I go it's always the other dr and I like him better. But how do you think I should go about approaching the subject for getting Something long acting as well. I need some help with that one.

Well I'm not sure because I never met the other Doc but I was thinking of trying him because of the DRUNK DOC LOL. I felt the same way, he was suppose to do a consult with the one u see but still hasn't so when do u go again I've never been shy about asking for a long lasting med... I would be able to help u better after I meet him. I'll call Monday and see if I can see him so I can help both of us.

Can someone please help me find a dr in Erie Pa that doesn't have a problem with giving oxycodone and morphine? I am desperate! I have severe, crippling arthritis in my back, hip and knees. I was on both meds for about a year and my dr just lost his practice and I can't find a dr that will give me them. I'm in pain 24/7 and I take care of my disabled son. Please help!! Thank you for listening!

There is a clinic from New jersey in Milford pa.Try them.You need a neurologist and there is one there.They will help you for sure.

I am in desperate need of a Dr who will prescribe oxy and morphine in Erie Pa. I was on them for crippling arthritis in my hips, knees and back. I'm in pain 24/7 and I care for my 23 year old disabled son. I wason these meds and they were the only thing that worked for me. The Dr lost his practice and I was done, just like that! Can anyone please help me? I have to care for my son! I need help, anybody? Dr in Erie Pa. Post to Deb. Thanks guys!!

Could you guy's please help me out to the name of the Dr. Or Dr.'s your seeing.My Doctor lost his liscense so I can't see him anymore.I take 15's I have severe stenosis in my back a ruptured disk in my neck and multiple other problems.I go to a pain center but I just don'like or trust the Dr. Please,Please if you guy's could help me out I would really appreciate it.The first time the Dr. At the pain center did was when he put me on the table to check me out was unzip his pants.

F***ing gross. A dr at a pain center unzipped his pants and put you on a table to check out your spine. Something doesn't seem right about that lol. Do your own research on Google and find your own doctor in your area that perscribes, ask around. Don't be a perv on this page, there was no reason to even bring that up.

Nikki, I have a question for you about 2 options I'm weighing that I think you may be able to help me with. Can you send me your email somehow? Would rather not have it be a public discussion. I'd appreciate it greatly as I'm finally giving another shot to managing my pain, which started 10+ years ago (and I'm still young). Hope to hear from you

There's no way to exchange personal email messaging any longer on this site. Additionally no one is going to share the identities of their prescribers because unfortunately we've learned through painful experience by referring those to our prescribers often times they are deluged with seekers. For most of us it's trial and error finding the doctor that fits our needs best.

How are things going with the doc I sent u to... you know the drunk doc u spoke bout lol.. at my last appointment I had enough with the 20s and I finally said to him he needs to give me 20s 6x a day if he's not gonna put me on what I was on n he says to me have u ever been on 30s.. I almost feel off the exam table I was on them for 6 yrs I asked him did u even look at all my paperwork I brought in and he just stood there confused and uped me to 30s. Smh it's like he never looked at all my paperwork...

My pain management doctor has actually told me to try and find a new Doctor who is willing to give me the medication that I need. I had been on 460 milligram pills of morphine sulfate a day and for 15 milligram oxycodone or oxycodone a day. I have had 3 surgeries on my back all which were unsuccessful to laminectomies and one spinal fusion which I now have two titanium screws and plates in my back. My spine is covered and I have arthritis. I have RSD spinal stenosis something called arachnoid doses or arachnoiditis, I always forget how it's spelled. I have so many different problems and my back stemming from a car accident when I was 17 and I just turned 47 on March 18th. He has basically cut me down like 75%. He tells me if he were older which he is only 51 he wouldn't care and he would continue to write me these scripts cuz he would not care that he was coming to the end of his medical career and wouldn't care if they took his license but since he's only 51 he has plenty of time left and he is very conservative. He tells me how bad he feels for me and knows I desperately need this medication. I am now in a scooter because I can barely walk and have taken to my bed because of the cut downs of this medication. I am in constant pain and cry everyday. I am now down to 2 30 milligram morphine and 310 milligram Roxicodone. I cannot live like this. That pain is so overwhelming at times I honestly don't know what to do. If you could share with me the name of your doctor I would love to make an appointment and see if they can help as my doctor said he would give any doctor I speak to all the information they need and even recommend that they up the dosage that he is giving me now because I desperately need it. Thank you so much my friend and I hope you are getting the relief you need too. Any help would be a lifesaver.

Nikki, I've been reading your posts and tried a doctor that was considered one of the top 10 prescribers for pain medications in PA after googling which doctor prescribes medications and NOT GIVES BACK INJ'S., (won't mention which pain meds and location of the doctor). Well I left the office pissed cause he decreased my dosage and pill amount, he prescribed me 10mg and only 45 tablets and the doctor I use to see prescribed me 15mgs and 150 tablets for the last 3 1/2 years and now that office closed cause the PA had to move out of state. These pain doctors are so frustrating now a days. Decreasing the dosage and pill amount will cause withdrawals. I wanted to call this doctor a complete oblivious *****! Anyhow, I live in South Central Pennsylvania and would like to know if you (or Carmine) have any suggestions on a GOOD HELPING UNDERSTANDING PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR? Medications are the only thing that helps so I can continue to work at my job. Thanks if you can help...

Does anyone have any experience with Urgent Care type clinics? I'm currently starting from scratch and during my research on their website, they seem to offer pain management services. I'm thinking about trying it out, but haven't decided. Either that or starting with a new primary care doctor (hopefully more testing). Also curious as to how much a co-pay might be for a clinic. If anyone has any personal experience, it'd be appreciated.
