@carmine, thank you. There are a few different doctors that practice out of there though, do you know which one prescribes it? I know someone else that goes there and gets oxycodone 15mg and he said the doc tried giving him suboxone for the pain first...so I've heard all the drs there are diff with diff rules! I'm waiting on an appt. there, they request all records from my pcp, previous pain mgmt dr, and the last 6 months of my pharmacy records. S*** is really getting crazy, but if that's what it takes I guess I'll wait patiently.

I was wondering if you could help me with the name and number of that doctor that is willing to write for pain? i have had pancreatitis since age 5. I am now 28 and all the years of pancreatitis flare ups which cause severe pain have caused massive damage to my pancreas and turned my pancreatitis into chronic calcific pancreatitis and pancreatitic cancer. My Dr had me on 180 20mg Oxys a month and has completely cut me off of them, as a lot of doctors are doing because of the s*** they are going through with the FDA but patients with legitimate pain and severe pain are suffering not only from the pain that requires the medication but from the withdrawal from taking the medication if on it for even a couple of months and i was on mine for a little over 10 years. I need to find another doctor that is willing to be a doctor and not let their patients suffer because they think they will lose their license and they're scared. They think they will lose their license even for writing prescriptions to the patients they've been writing them for years for and the ones with severe medical disorders..please if you would give me the name and number i am in need of help badly and am ready to just give up. It is getting to the point for most that we don't have much of a choice. Please Help. Thank You.

To add to my post, I was looking for a pain management doctor in the Pocono area. Milford, pa. Inoperable tumor near my spine. My primary care was treating me with low dose extended release oxy 2ce a day. I ran out, as I had 30 days to find new doctor, and he was appalling, would not order records, just took cash, offered nothing, no therapy, nothing. I had no withdrawal or anything, just horrible pain, can't sleep, hard to do things that were easy with meds. Any pain management doctor that will actually not treat me like a Guinny pig like I was years ago(and can get those records) I just cannot bear going through all of it again. If anyone knows of a pm doctor that is willing to help with actual pain would be appreciated. Thank you

The DEA is behind this, they have stated that no one is allowed to take more then 120mg per day and if you do not have cancer pain meds are very hard to get. These drs are really scared of loosing their license. Believe I have had to find drs because the DEA has closed there doors. Three so far that I have gone to. I have been in pain management since 2001. I have followed all the rules. No extra meds, U/A's all the time were good. Pill counts all the time and never ever a problem. The previous Dr I was going to for 7 years retired because they were threatening to take his license away. I have reports from three different MRI's that are telling them of the problems and the pain I am in all the time and here in OH it doesn't make a difference. My son lives in Sharon, PA I could move in with him. No one on here will tell you of a dr in Sharon or Hermitage PA. I don't understand why everyone is afraid to share that info. If someone on here was in such pain at my age of 70 I would certainly help.

Hi to those who misunderstood my post please don't get upset over it. Firstly it was the DEA who is doing this and yes it is guidelines not rules. I have read up on this on the internet it tells you that the dr is only allowed to give no more then 120mg of morphene per day. I take Opana however, he lowers the dosage everytime I go in. While I was taking 40mg three times aday it was starting to work. I was taking alot more pain meds before I had to find another dr in pain management. The dosage I am taking now is much lower then allowed. It's down to 80mg and I know when I go again it will be lowered again. I can not understand except that the dr is doing this himself so I am going to bring this up and print out what I found. You can't argue with these drs they really don't care. In the last 9 months that I have been going I saw the dr once. I see his assistant. I have asked to talk directly to the dr but get the same answer it doesn't make a difference. I live approx 3 miles from PA so the drs there will take patients in Ohio as long as you do not live more then 15 miles from the PA line. I just want relief. I am to old to worry about this day after day. It is totally a shame what is happening. I didn't ask for the pain I hate taking any kind of medication. No one on here will help with drs names I don't understand that. I can't believe that there is no one from the Sharon, Hermitage area on here. Don't be afraid to share the people like me who really need help should get help. The people who go for the pills only for profit are the ones that is ruining this for us. Thanks for understanding

Hope,

There is no way anyone can predict or guarantee you a drug, dosage or quantity no less without the benefit of an appropriate medical evaluation to decipher if you suffer from a legit. Condition that requires the use of these powerful controlled scheduled narcotic opiates.
If your condition warrants continued pain control its best you contact your pcp or pain specialist. The days of unlimited indiscriminate prescribing of these drugs are over and unfortunately for those truly in need we are forced to suffer or jump through hopes to find access to a reduced and limited amount as a result of this crisis. FACT!!!

Arlene,

The very valid reason why specific names and medical practices listed are prohibited from public postings is exactly as you stated patients whom have no medical need for these powerful opiates come across prescribers willing to use opiates as a modality of treatment seize on that opportunity flock to these docs and before you know it the DEA are closing them down leaving legit sufferers out in the cold. Hope that clears up any confusion you have regarding this matter.Unfortunately according to cbs news affiliate in NYC tri state area led yesterday's evening broadcast with the story that practioners here beginning January 3rd 2017 Alternatives to opiate/ opiod class drugs used for pain in general practice will be eliminated and an emphasis on NSAIDs or more holistic approaches for moderate pain control.Stating federal guidelines enacted in March of 2016 were ineffective in qweling the excessive use of these habit forming substances so further restrictions need to be established.According to this report NYC northern NJ and Connecticut prescribers proportionately over prescribe these drugs at an alarming rate.Just preparing the folks who have follow ups in the new year to expect this new wave of intrusion. Sorry but I'm just the messenger. I suffer like most finding adequate relief in the northeast as well

@carmine .....yep same one. He was very nice but didn't really take the time to examine me much, told me he was just there to treat my paun, looked at my MRI but nothing else. He said it was pretty bad (result wise) and perscribed me 4 a day. Why isn't he helping you anymore?

Hey would you mind letting me know about the urgent care doctor I could visit? I was struck by a car walking across the street (they failed to stop at a red light & stuck me) & since the accident I've been passed around from DR to DR being told this person can help you out.. and every time I've got the same story & yet to receive the medical help I need. I really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance.

Nikki. Hey so I finally found a new doctor in nj.. a few days ago I went in n filled out my paperwork and have an appointment on the 10th of next month everyone at his office was so nice and the review I read on the doctor were amazing so hopefully everything goes well there that way I don't have to go to the urgent care n e more but I'm glad ur happy with him... I suggest u don't give his name out (EVEN THOUGH I GAVE IT TO U) otherwise too many people will go there and abuse the place and Ull end up loseing him... SO beware there's a lot of fakers on here n it's because of them y it's so hard for people with real issues like us to find a doctor n e more....... SO keep me updated on ur progress and I'll do the same
