I need a doctor in the pgh area. I have had 11 back surgeries, chronic pain and anxiety. My pcp gave me a month to find one... Please help.

bridgepanter - I could really use ur help. I was going to a pain management doctor in NJ for 6 yrs. I live in pa. I have all my records from my last Doc plus mris. I've been in a lot of accidents, broke my back twice, my pelvis once with a steal plate n 12 screws. I have 4 pins holding my wrist and arm together. 4 bad discs. One disc completely gone. One bulging disc that pushes on my siatic nerve. I could really use some help with a doctor in NJ. Plz if u can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Hi. I am looking for a doctor near Milford pa, Pocono area who will help me. For the past 6 years I have been treated by my primary care. I have a tumor near my spine. I have been through all the physical therapy, the spinal inj's., the medications, years of it, and each night wishing I would just die in my sleep. My primary care doctor was the only one who would help me. He prescribed me the lowest dose of OxyContin extended release. It changed my life. Zero side effects, and my back pain was soo much better. My insurance company wanted to not cover the medication due to its cost (which I'm not happy about either) I panicked and my doctor helped me fight that. I do not want to be high as a kite on these other drugs. The oxy low dose extended release has zero side effects and allows me to function. My doctor told me that they are coming down on him, that he cannot prescribe the medicine to me or anyone anymore, and my doctor is just disgusted in general about so many changes that have happened in the medical field over the years. I am hoping someone can please tell me of a pain management doctor that will not try to re-invent the wheel, torture me with more procedures. It's a tumor, it's to close to my spine and no surgeon will touch it. There really is not much anyone can do. I am looking for a pain doctor that can speak to my old doctor and not be so against continuing prescribing me the oxy extended release that helps me so much. Any help will be truly appreciated. I had little heads up on this, so my doctor wrote me one last prescription and said he would help in any way he can to send files or talk to new doctor. If certain people with Teri le issues is not allowed to take this medication, then who is? I went through hell with so many procedures and side effects from medicine. I just want to live my life the best I can. Thank you. I am hoping to hear from someone soon.

Hi. I live in Milford as well. Did you have any luck finding a doctor? My primary who has been treating me for a tumor near my spine was told he is not allowed to prescribe the pain medicine to me any longer. I now am scam ling to find a doctor that is not going to try to re invent the wheel. I have Ben through the gamut, all the tests, painful procedures. They won't operate so I'm screwed, but it seems doctors can't just prescribe meds for people who need them. Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you found a doctor that helped you.

I go to him he's ok but put me on Percocet 10 four times day now switched me to morphine sulfate 30mg two times a day still not effective plus his visit is 350 bucks

Have you seriously thought of moving to another state? I know it sounds like an easy solution but it's probably a gigantic obstacle. ..I do not know how you are financialy situated.it's not my business.just think, example; San Diego ,CA. There are doctors aware of your pain and situation, everywhere who charge about a 1/3 amount of that $350..there is affordable housing also.don't go by the news of highest prices.now reality, your condition probably keeps you from doing so.if you had family or a friend there you could visit, it might be better on you compared to a big move, just a 1 or 2 week visit. Its just a thought.hope you are feeling better.good luck

Could u help me.. Im in pain management now but im looking for a new one.. The one im at now does not want to listen to what u have to say..i have been going there for over 4 yrs i told them my body is amuned to them and they r not helping can u give me a stronger one they said no because u dont have cancer.. I have had inj's. and burns of the nerves and it didnt help as well.. So can u please give me the name and phone number of your dr. Please.. Thank you in advance.

Could you help me get a hold of a doc who will help prescribe pain meds? I live in Lancaster pa. I have not had any luck with my primary and others I've been referred too. I was hit by a car three years ago and other methods of pain management have stopped working. I am getting to the point it is hard to even get up most days. I have the records to show the issues with my neck and back. {edited for privacy}.

Your best bet for help and treatment is to find a pain clinic in or near your town, most need referalls so you can ask your PCP if they would write you one which shouldn't be a problem.

@carmine I was going to kurt moran pain clinic in scranton. I was on oxycodone 15 mg for rotator cuff tendinitis and myofascial pain syndrome. They literally called me 1 day and told me I have till the end of business day to report to the office for a pill count. They said the dr could discharge me if I don't show, even though I explained that I couldn't get there till the following day bc of work. No my appt was still 2 weeks off, but sure enough I got that discharge letter.

Ohio has ruled on pain meds. I am currently in pain management in Ohio and every month my doctor is cutting my mil. So I asked what am I suppose to do about my pain I am 70 years old and have been suffering for almost 20 years now I have to suffer more. Ohio doctors are getting really stuck in the middle. The government should stay out of the Doctors business. They say so many are dying because of getting to much pain meds. What do they think is going to happen people will be getting it on the street and dye. I need to find a doctor in either Sharon or Hermitage PA I can't believe that no one on this chat site doesn't know of a doctor that either they are seeing or that they know someone who goes to pain management. If you Rich get an answer on a doctor in PA please help me {edited for privacy} or anyone else out there who knows of one. I don't want to be in this horrific pain anymore.
