hello so heres my question i am looking for a new pain management doctor in either the 5 borrows or in new jersey that prescribe roxycodone/oxycodone 30mg i currently have a doctor in staten island who was prescribing me 45 roxys bi weekly then uped me to 60 30mg roxys bi weekly now he has me coming in every week and lowered me to 20mg oxycodone 30 a week i told him this is not enough for me but he dosent listen to anything anybody says also i have a job and work 5 days a week he wants me to come in every friday but i cant because of work but when i tell him i cant come in every week because i have work let me come on a day i have off im going to loose my job he ignores me and just says its ok just come next week like im just some jerk off i also told him the 20s are not enough its not working im still in pain again he ignores me and says its ok just come in next week this guy does care he wants me to come in every week cause hes banking my insurance out with these weekly visits i never heard of any doctors prescibing this medication weekly or bi weekly almost every doctor does monthly visits... so what i need is a new doctor that is willing to prescribe me 30mg roxys and thats not going to judge me or just try to give me some other type of medication because i litterley have tryed every pain meds known to man and this is the only thing that acually works. i was in a bad car accident in 2008 and i have a slipped disk 3 buldging disks and a herniated disk in my lower back and with my job im on my feet all day long so my pain has got so much worse since then i cant stand longer then 2 hours at a time because mt whole back just starts locking up and the pain is there for hours even when i take my meds it takes a while to go away it sucks.. so another problem of me finding a new doc is because i am only 22 and most doctors are not willing to prescribe someone my age this medication so i need a doctor that will give me what i need without judgement and without trying to give me non narcotic pain meds or very low dose pain meds because there not going to workand i dont even want to waste my time and my insurances money. i am willing to travel to any of the 5 borrows, long island and even jersey as long as i can get a monthly script ill even do bi weekly but i cant do this with my current doctor i have an appointment friday and i dont feel like loosing a half day of work for 30 20mg oxys thats going to be finished in 3 days its not even worth it anymore i tryed talking to my doctor but dont listen to s*** that i say and it gets me really annoyed so please if anybody can help me with a new doc you dont know how much that would help thank you very very much any answers are greatly appreciated..thanks

To Up creek. You are not alone. And to add insult to injury, all of Sloan's patients are labeled because of the high quantity of medicine he gave. Doctor's don't want to touch these patients, however, there Doctor's willing to help but on their terms. No high dosages are they comfortable prescribing. Good luck, I feel for you. My spouse is in the same boat........ God bless you, God bless chronic pain sufferers.

Hi starlight I was thinking of doing that going to a methadone clinic for a few weeks then going to a pain management and tell them it isn't helping because truth is it isn't I am at work today in so much pain my back my neck is killing me I'm down to just working 3 days a week behind in all my bills one of my friends said they might not see me after being in a methadone clinic because that's for addiction but I just want to be honest

I am new to this site and am in severe pain. Ten very long years, multiple failed spinal fusions, years of PT, massage, chiro, acupuncture, tens, many epidurals, past four yeats well over 200 facet inj's, trigger point inj's, si joint inj's, discectomies, discographies, my list is endless. I have been with same dr for almost five years, was on the same dose for many years with success u til a year ago when he decided to lower my meds to ineffective doses, took away the muscle relaxers and I am in agony, Each month I tell him how i have zero quality of life and it falls on deaf ears. I dont know about Dr. Sloan, but to all of you who cant find a dr and was with Sloan i would suggest calling the medical board and complaining. Sounds like what happened with Dr. gosy in NY, all his pts were abandoned and I believe a few drs stepped in for a few months to help the pts. The DEA is targeting any dr who continues to treat with pain meds, This is inhumane, cruel, torture and its genocide! I suggest to you pain warriors to join support groups. Many are doing what they can to fight back. I research all day long and the CDC has used falsified statistics to fit the governments addiction driven agenda. There is going to be a rally in DC on Oct 22. @ 10am. For info Google: Rallyagainstpain. Also Google: petition2congress first do no harm, one of many petitions. There is no opiod epidemic! There is a huge illicit drug epidemic, but those od deaths are all labeled a death to prescription pills! You can also reference painnewsnetwork for many many articles and the truth. Oh and the surgeon general has put the nail in all our coffins, He sent our a letter to every dr in the country advising to stop scripting opioids. This has got to stop! Chronic intractable pain kills when left untreated. Many legit pts are being forced to the streets for relief or quality of life when i was on the right doses. Now the severe burning, stabbing pain all over my back, my hips, my legs and feet is unbearable. I suggest also to make many many calls to your congressmen. They need to hear us loud! I am in many support groups and it sickens me how many of us are being neglected, abused, mistreated, degraded and discriminated against. I've lost several people in these groups to suicide due to inadequate pain relief. Even cancer pts as well are being denied pain medication. The government has no right, nor does the DEA to come between the pt/dr relationship, what they are doing is criminal! I have been trying to find a new dr to put me back on what worked for me, and i am sick and tired of being treated like some pill seeking junkie/addict, oh and to all of you long term pain med users, our records are being hit with a new dx: opioid use disorder, or some s*** like that, coming down from the surgeon general! I am physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted. I suffer from multiple debilitating incurable diseases, my dr has told me its going to continue to worsen over time and no surgery will fix it, not that id even opt for a surgery evr again, especially since now with the CDC inhumane guidelines, anyone having surgery will only be given three days of pain meds then switched to tylnol! The government is killing off the disabled, chronically ill, forcing us to suffer until we end it. I am sick and tired of paying the very high price with my health and overall well being because of those who choose to abuse. Drug addicts are greeted with open arms, shown compassion, hell the government even gives them clean needles and safe places to go to abuse their s***, legitimate pain pts are being discharged thru no fault of their own, having their meds lowered to ineffective doses or abruptly stopped, sending pts into what could be deadly withdrawal, shock, and seizures. Drs are turning their backs on the chronically ill in fear of the DEA. We are being left with nowhere to turn. This is happening nationwide. Shame on our government, denying legit pain pts our lifesaving pain meds. There is no way in hell that the corrupt lawmakers or their loved ones are not dependent on pain medication, Many of them are up in age and with that comes painful conditions. But they all have their private drs and pharmacies right in their back pockets. I live in Monmouth Cty NJ, and have been unsuccessful in finding a dr to take over. One that shows a person compassion and not judgement. When a person has years of medical records, debilitating incurable conditions, has tried all the alternative therapies their bodies and wallets could take, there should be no reason to be denied opioids to relieve the pain!! The government is pushing legit pain pts into detox ctrs, and onto suboxone, Dr. Kolodny, who owns the Phoenix House detox ctrs nationwide played a huge roll alongside the CDC, hes an addiction specialist who has no clue what existing with intractable pain is like, his only concern is filling his detox beds and pushing suboxone. This war on pain pts is not about saving lives, it's all about the money. In fact, the whole CDC guideline nightmare was created with bias and did not include any legit pain pts, just addicts, they are in fact being sued by the WLF (Washington legal fund) for their secret meetings and violating the FACCA laws when coming up with the barbaric guidelines, Best of luck to all of you, We are in for the fight of our lives, our good drs are being taken down by the DEA and many have been falsely charged. Go to Doctorsofcourage.org. The DEA threatens the drs staff and patients to turn against the dr or thier lives will be hell, they lie and will do anything to take down our drs. We all have the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and have the right to lifesaving meds. The propaganda bs the government is feeding the public is to fit their agenda. If anyone knows of a compassionate dr near monmouth cty, maybe within an hours drive, although i have great difficulty being in a car more than. 15/20 mins, but could possibly get someone to drive me...I use to be on oxycodone 30mgs every four hours, which btw, that medication was made to only last between 4-6 hrs tops, my dr has me every eight hrs, and it is living hell. I no longer eat maybe a bowl of cereal at nite that's it, sleep is a thing of the past, most days I beg god to take me. Again, my support and prayers go out to all pain pts.

I can't get an appointment with Doctors that were recommended on this chat and the other med chats. If you were a Dr. Sloan patient you can't even get an appointment. What are we supposed to do? All of us have different issues, different conditions, etc. Again being labeled as either drug addicts or if you were on high dosage, Doctor's don't want to treat you. I understand the Doctor's position and I understand the chronic pain person's position. But how do we get treated. How do we get treated as individuals?? We're all grouped together being labeled. Has anyone in New Jersey seen Dr. Sloan on the news since his arrest. I wonder how he is?

Bill says and Chris B. Be careful with the helping out part. Someone I know was ripped off for money.... there are Predators on this site who know all about Dr Sloan, the office closing and patients trying to find a new doctor. Whether everyone's pain is legit or not I am not one to judge, but like I said someone got ripped off.. people are desperate and predators want to take you for a ride.

@Busted, everything I said is true. If I was a doctor I am not going to sacrifice my license or freedom. The pill seekers always depict " oh the doctors don't care" They have a full page listen listening listening a full page soliloquy as to why they need specific Narcotics. They have already foresee that they will need these meds for the rest of their life.

@Busted, I am not singling you out. Sorry if you feel this way. I speak on certain things because I have walked the walk and still walking it. I am a chronic pain sufferers. You are talking to someone who three years ago was on. Nucynta, Vicodin, Percocet, Oxycodone, Atarax, Temazepam, and. Ativan, all at the same time. At the time I thought it was great. I had severe OA in my Left Knee it was crippling.I thought it was great that my pain doctor had no problems prescribing me anything I wanted and in large quantities. I won't bore you with the details.But, let's just say, It's a miracle I am still alive but, most importantly didn't hurt anyone. I eventually after numerous episodes of ER visits from OD. I made the choice. I needed help. For me it was embarassing because I just told the truth and I felt I was betraying my doctor at the time. Looking back, I realized the doctor shared some of the blame. Because it was extremely irresponsible for her to all these pain medications script at the same time. I would walk out of her office with llike six scripts of not only large doses of narcotic but, large quantities also. The pharmacy never questioned it eithe. They just filled the scripts. They were making good money off my prescription insurance. The Nucynta alone was about a grand.But, I only paid a $10 copay. I did the LTKRand got help to get off those massive amount of pain meds. Now, my right knee has severe OA, my lower back is messed up with spondylolysis. So, ii know what chronic pain is about to am living with it. I don't ever want to go back. Now out of the clear blue I developed panic attacks. My doctor has me on Xanax and Zoloft and it's working some. OA is a degenerative. Disease . Yes, I hurts lot but, I found and is trying alternative treatments. Hearing some of the lame excuses such as:. "I need this Te rest of my life" " The doctors dont care" is a bunch of crap. My profession entails prolong walking and standing. There are times I am in extreme pain. But, I don't want to go back to a narcotic haze existence. People need to keep it real. You can practically tell the ones who is just looking to score.

@Chris b.,

NY is a big State. Where are you located. I too am looking for a doctor in NY but so far I will never survive the ride due to the distance. Maybe we can help each other.

Please do not be pissed at all of us. I only know 30 mg Oxycodone. That is what I was prescribed after Trigger Shots were unsuccessful. Had been on Vicodan 10/660 for years and they were no longer working.

I never asked for Oxycodone but they sure did work. I was actually started at 180 30 mg per month and I asked it to be reduced to 150 per month. I have had Paperwork and Hospitalization since 1981. Now I only have more recent films and reports but I will take more and have no issues being given a drug panel on a surprise basis instead of once a month at my visit. Never failed one since way back in 2001 when I started on Vicodin 10/660. Also on 8 mgs of Xanax a day and never failed a drug panel.

SayWhat, I don't know why you are choosing me to lash out at. I am not even going to bother reading this. I know all about the War on Drugs, the DEA, crooked Doctors, etc. Until you walk in a chronic pain person's body, then come talk about it and see what it's like.

@Busted, what do you mean " what do you mean,. There is no patient care. These doctors care about themselves?? Let's keep this real. We all know that many doctors had no problems with prescribing narcotics. They had no problems, over prescribing. Example, huge amounts & high dosage without blinking. So many people have died from prescribed narcotics, the DEA stepped in to reign it in.
@ Busted, even though it's difficult, I don't blame the doctors. They have dedicated years of schooling to achieve their goal. What do you want them to do? Forgo all the DEA rules and regulation just to prescribe you narcotics. To answer your question. These doctors should care about themselves because they have a lot to lose. They can lose their license but, most importantly their freedom. If people were taking the narcotics as prescribed, death rate from overdosing would not be at an all time high. In order for someone to die from narcotics. It shows that they were not taking the narcotics they it was prescribed. Strong narcotics were not meant for long-term use. They are not there for long-term use to treat people with debilitaing chronic pain. In fact when a person is on these strong narcotics. They are supposed to be titrate down, not up. There are empty of other options that can be utilized to treat chronic pain sufferers.

Check for "Spine and Pain Management" in Union or Edison, NJ for oxycodone. I don't know if I am allowed to write the name here. Only thing is, it is hard for you to get such a prescription filled with the new laws.

Beth, I have the information. My husband has called, waiting for their return call. In the meantime I have taken him to 2 Doctor. I am in tears. They don't want to help. Also some places want the medical records about a year's worth faced directly to them. How do you get Rand's staff to cooperate and fax the information needed to go see another Doctor? The screening process is absurd and once at the appointment these Doctors turn you away even with documentation. These Doctors all are blaming everything on the DEA, there afraid of loosing their license. There's no patient care. These Doctors are worried about themselves. What a shame. What to do?

Yea Mikey, I remember you from Dr. Sloans office and it's whining and bellyaching little patients like you that got Sloan in the mess he's in and screwed everything up for the multitudes of us who were extremely disabled and can't even walk much less work!!! Stop trying to find "30's" or "blues" and if you were really and truly in pain you would have taken any kind of medicine ANY dr gave you!!! And by the way jerkoff, the oxys work much better than the roxi's, so it's not only obvious what you're up to, it's illegal and your ass should be in jail!!
