Doc Wants Me To Increase Wellbutrin Dose..huh??
(Newest replies first)

I started Wellbutrin 150xl about 23 days ago to accompany my Lexapro for depression. I've had racing thoughts and overall anxiety which I reported to my doctor. I thought he would reduce the dose but instead he recommends increase to 300xl per day!! Has anyone else ever had this counter intuitive recommendation from their doc? I'm afraid to increase the dose for obvious fear of worsening the anxiety.

Those can be normal side effects, when you first start this medication and there is a school of thought that it means the medication will work well for you, according to the NIH, though the science behind such a theory is still limited.
Other side effects, as reported by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, insomnia, and nervousness.
Have you tried taking the higher dose, yet?
Hi lulu,
Sorry your having such a difficult time with your new protocol.there are different schools of thought regarding blood level achievements of this class of drug.I'm not a prescriber however I'd suggest reading all you can about this drug, then follow your body's voice.IF YOUR doc then refuses to downward titrate or d/c your med then by all means a change in treatment provider is absolutely warranted.hope things change for the better and you get the relief you deserve. Regards, Kenie.
