Divalproex Sod Er Side Effects

my 17 year old son starrted ignoring going to school regularly. then shool counsellor told us to take him to any pshcatrist we took him then of the dr. prescribed him attentrol 25mg twice 25mg morning and 50 mg at night and tab nexipride 100mg for 1 week 150mg for 2 weeks and then for 4 weeks. after 4 months attentrol was stopped and prodep 20mg was prescribed. my son became little hyper and totally refused to go to school then we contacted our dr. but we couldnot contact him due to his busy schedule. on a advised of school we went to another dr he had prescribed tab nexitoplus 1 at lunch and tab dicorate er 250mg also at lunch along with neurobion tab. due to this my son keeps on sleeping for longer durations and is unable to do his stuies which he himself wants to do with the help of tutors. what is wrong with him why they are prescribing him these medicines and what r the side effects of them

I will explain to you very clearly.. If there is a problem in our eye it affects our vision..or if there is a problem in our lung we get breathing problem.. So consider brain is another organ like lungs or a kidney.. So if there is chemical imbalance in the brain it will affect our thoughts and make us feel depressed.. This is very much similar to a problem in lung causing respiratory problems.. So a psychartic will prescribe tablets according to the symptoms..some of the common symptoms are depression ,anxiety, lonely feeling, short temper, rude behaviour, loss of interest in surroundings, loss of sensation in skin, etc., unlike other illness this will take a long time to cure.. Usually doctor will prescribe medicine for first one month..then he will reduce or increase the dosage accordingly..usually this treatment goes on for 6months to one year.. So we have to take medicines very regularly so that we get cured soon without cow major problem.. For the first few weeks the medicine will make us very sleepy..the effect of the medicine will be felt only after few weeks.. So what i suggest you is that fix a experienced doctor that you trust and follow his advice regularly and don't change the doctor.. There will be many side effects for tablets but don't bother about it. Just get cured from the major problem that's very important. Now a days even a 1Year baby is having this problem and they are prescribed with same tablets..so nothing to worry about..
