Diuretics That Won't Lower Blood Pressure
UpdatedMy 88 yr. old dad has always had low blood pressure. Since a recent apendectomy, his ankles now swell, but blood pressure remains low at 90/58. Is there a drug that will only decrease his fluid retention?

Hi Cher,
I'm having trouble finding Diuretic medications that don't have the possibility of lowering blood pressure. However, I've posted a link below that gives some information about fluid retention and how to treat it naturally.

I hope this info helps!
It would be dangerous to decrease fluid with low blood pressure. Theres a problem with his circulatory system and you should check for swelling or redness which is a sign of a blood clot. If you reduce water in low blood pressure it will cause fainting.
