Can this medication be used for stomach problems?

I have had Crohn's disease for about 20 years and have been taking 2 lomotil tablets about 1 hour to and hour and a half before every meal as my Gynecologist has ordered. It works well for me unless my Crohn's disease is in an active state.

Diphenoxylate and Atropine is commonly used to treat severe diarrhea.

What type of stomach problem is being treated?

It may cause side effects, which can include: nausea, drowsiness, blurred vision and dizziness.
