I have been on 8mg dilaudid in the states for a while and cannot find anyone that i can get them from anymore of they are so outragous i cannot aford them. I have found some on my trips to canada but they are 1 mg and I usually snort 8mg. Does anyone take Kadian? How is it? How long does it last? It is not very strong to me. ## In response to the question about Kadian, I have taken it in a dosage of 12 to 20 100mg capsules per day. It is basically morphine sulfate, and the thing I do like about it is that it kills the pain more in the body as opposed to the brain, so you feel more normal. The down side is that is makes you sleepy sometimes, causes more constipation than Oxy, or Feninyl, and has a ceiling around 2 grams/day, in other words beyond that amount there is no additional relief when taking more of the med. Overall, I have found that I can take it once a day along with 4 30mg Oxycondone IR in the morning and two to four 10mg Valiums at bed time. I had an abdominal Hysterectomy Jan 28. Due to my super high tolerance of medications in general (not just the pain meds), It turned out to be a bit more complicated in the end, so when they sent me home on was on strict Bed-Rest for 8 1/2 weeks. And for the first six weeks I just took the Diluadid as directed (which worked out to be 72 mg/24 hour period. Then at six weeks, with the help of my doctor slowly weaned myself off of them. It took a couple of months to accomplish! My question now is (I took my last dose a week or so ago)...the two issues that I'm still really struggling with is Depression and bad anxiety, I do have a medication to help with the Anxiety...but it just makes me tired and lethargic. Ive just started this medication yesterday. Ive had 4 since 6 pm last night. I have degenerative spine disease, Im in pain all the time. I was on MSIR 10mg. I was on 8-10 a day for three years. My new doctor has tried MESELON 30 mg, I hated them. Im now on these odd little pills and Im not impressed. I feel like Im on acid without the melting of things.. Im really irritated that this doctor switched me as the meds I was on were working just fine, Ide cut back to 6 a day if I was not in severe pain which is very rare. My sister sees a pain management doctor and is perscribed dilaudid 4mg every 4 hours, but 2 days before her appointment she ran out due to being more pain than usual. When she went to the doctor they did her random drug screen to make sure it was in her system and her urine was a dark color like almost brown. I have frequest migraines that last several days. A nurse friend suggested I try Dilaudid. Is this something that is effective for migraines? And does it come in generic form? I have no insurance. I was recently placed on this medication for sevear lower back pain. I recently found out that I have a herinated disk in my back, and disk degenerative disease. My doctor placed me on Dilaudid 8mg, which took all of my pain away. I felt very disorientated, though. I am now on the 4mg tabs every 6 hours. I noticed my pain is dull, but still there. Why do I have to fell out of it to be temoraily pain free? I have been on Vicodin HP, Morphine 60mg, Percocet 5, 7, and 10 mg. I have bounced from med to med trying to find the best results in my case. I am lost for what to do. The med that seemed to help the most was the Vicodin Hp, but I was afraid of the addiction factor. Hello everyone, Currently i am prescribed 16mg orally of dilaudid every 3-4 hours. I have just begun my 1st day of weaning myself off by cutting down to 14 mg for this next whole week, with the help of valium. I will continue to cut down like this until the last dose. Now i understand that this is an extremely high dose but im focusing on getting off of it and not worrying about how i got on it.
