I came across this pill in my medicine cabinet and I have no idea what it is or how it got there. It's a small white round pill with the number 8 imprinted on one side and blank on the other. I'm Canadian, btw, so i think it may be some generic version of another drug. Any help? ## Someone who was looking for this same pill had suggested that it may have been Dilaudid (8mg); however I can't seem to find any specific details online that might help verify this. Dilaudid is used to relieve moderate to severe pain and severe, painful dry coughing. Does the name of this drug sound vaguely familiar at all, based on past prescriptions?

What is maximum dosage of Dilaudid IVP and IM one can take? ## What is protocol if you are supposed to be taking dialaudid and u go to your pain doctor and they do a urine test and it comes back negatiive! ## If it comes back negative, then they are going to assume that you are selling your medication and will likely not prescribe you any more. I have been suffering from Migraines since 2005. The past year has been very difficult as my headaches have increased 10 fold. I have had many health problems over my years and had a Kidney Transplant back in 2007 so I am limited to what I can take for the headaches. I use to take Toradol and it worked great. I have been taking Hyrdro Morphone 10mg/1ml at .6 of a ml a day for the headaches. I find that over the months it just does not work as well and my doctor says I am at a way high of a dose and she does not want to increase it. I want to know what is a normal dose for a regular user for major pain and if my dose is high/normal/low. I constantly have a headache and it just increases as the day goes on. I live in the chicago area and an looking for a pain management clinic to put me on a regimen of 4 mg dilaudid. I have severe leg pain and dilaudid helps the best. My Dr, wants me to take vicodin. Small white only a 10 written in small black letters was told it was dilaudid????? wat is it? ## No, that's not a marking on any Dilaudid tablets that I've ever seen listed in the various prescription drug databases. Shortages almost always occur towards the end of the year, due to mandatory manufacturing limits and, even if they want to help you, if your pharmacy has exhausted their supply, there is nothing they can do, until production resumes in the new year. got , whats upa script this morning for 60 dilaudid 4mg and no drug store has any ## How have you been checking to see if they have them in stock? If you have just been calling the pharmacies, you are not likely to get a straight and accurate answer. Due to the extremely high risk of theft, phone calls requesting any controlled substances usually just result in your being told that they do not have any in, or do not carry them, at all. They have no way of knowing if the person on the phone is a legitimate customer, or a potential thief. The only way to get a real answer is by actually going in to the pharmacy, with your prescription in hand. ## i normally fill my 4mg hydromorphones at CVS. Can Dilaudid cause a false-positive for any other opiate? ## Yes, dilaudid can actually cause a false-positive for any other opiate, and vise versa, depending on the quality of the drug test. On the cheaper, less reliable drug tests, it seems as though anything is likely to show up, no matter what you took. They have the choice to use better drug testing equipment, such as a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer; which has the ability to distinguish the exact substance in question. They just don't use it as often due to costs. So they would rather take the high risk of displaying a misreading than take a few extra dollars out of their pocket. If one overdosed on a narcotic so severely that they required medical treatment, then there is a high likelihood that the slow heart rate they are experiencing 2 months afterwards is due to some permanent damage done to their heart. So ive been in the hospital for 2 weeks now. They have been giving me Dilaudid for pain. The pain i have was a 7 out of 10 and 10 being the worst. So i have taken it for about 12 or 13 day. the pain has gradually gone away but still there and they have been giving me morphine but i feel nothing and it doesnt help like the dilaudid did. how long would it take for me to be able to take morphine and feel the effect cause the pain is so annoying when i try to sleep. ## It may just be that the Morphine doesn't work for you, that does happen to some people. My husband is on 4mg Dilaudid and 10mg percocet and I am on 10 mg percocet...my pain can be really bad at times so my husband will give me a dilaudid....will a 10 panel drug urine screen be able to distinguish what opiate we took or will it just say opiate. I am curious as to how often this medication can be taken. Currently I take it every 8 hours, but it doesn't last that long. ## I take 6mg diludid suppossitory (2 3mg )with 50 mg Phenegan shots every 3-4 hours for my Gastroparesis Episodes. I have build up a tolerance to the drugs and have to take high doses now. The body does seem to build up immunities to the two drugs and I have to up the doseage about every year.
