how long will 2mg dalaudid stay in my system? ## They wear off in like 6-8 hours, but if you are asking in terms of say a drug test it's lkie 3 days ## is dilaudid a opiate? ## Thanks Jen. Call me a weenie, but I am a little leary of taking it because I am not sure of it's effects. Are the effects similar to hydrocodone? The reason I ask is because the Hydrocodone gives me tons of energy and wasn't sure if dilaudid would do the same. Thanks for the info. :) ## HI LES, I'VE BEEN ON BOTH HYDROCODONE AND DILAUDID(NOT AT THE SAME TIME)BUT OVER THE YEARS AND FOR ME,A PERSON LIVING WITH CROHNS DISEASE&ADHESIVE BOWEL DISEASE WHICH LEADS TO CRONIC PAIN,I FIND THE DILAUDID IN A RATHER LOW DOSE(2MG TABS WHICH I CAN TAKE 2 OF EVERY 6HRS. Ok lol never thought id be on here typin this but hey everyone gots there own experiences... Tried shootin a Dilaudid but coudn't hit and my arm is all tingling an it didnt even go in..????? ## The question is, how are you feeling now, 45 minutes later? P.S. I don't do this or encourage it, but I am just checking in to see how you are doing. Would definitely say it's not a good idea. ## I would hope you prepared your injectable Dilauded solution Sterile and you will be fine. As far as missing a vein, no big deal if it's just the Dilauded is ok to take IV, IM, or SQ (SQ being just under the skin). The only problem I can see from you shooting the pill is the excipients (stuff that holds the pill together) may cause an allergic reaction in the local area where you missed. I...

Having surgery in near future, but liver enzymes are high, should this medication be ruled out? what are my options? Should i postpone this surgery? I found this problem out after surgery was scheduled. ## Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is metabolized (broken down) by the liver, but I haven't come across any clear congruent information stating whether or not it causes liver damage or potentiates an existing condition like that which you mentioned. According to the prescribing information for Dilaudid, people with moderate liver impairment should be started at a low dose and monitored carefully while the dose is being adjusted. For more specific information though, I would suggest consulting with your doctor, surgeon, and/or pharmacist for guidance based on your health status and current m...

what will happen to my hand....i tried to inject an 8 mg dilaudid into my hand with a syringe and i missed somehow. am i gonna be ok? is my hand gonna rot off or what? ## Honestly, when you try to inject pills you aren't just at risk for undesirable side effects at the site of injection (visible swelling, redness, pain, etc) but the binders and fillers that make up the tablet can get trapped under your skin/veins/tissue, which could result in life threatening blockages, infections, or infiltration injury. If your hand still remains a concern to you I would recommend getting it checked out by a doctor before seeking advice online, since this is something that should probably be evaluated in person to determine the severity of the situation and whether for not immediate action needs t...

I mean I know as well as anybody else that using a drug through I.V. isn't started by people prescribed ...

I found a very bright orange pill, slightly more than half, with orange all the way through. It has -2 on one side and a P on the other with what seems to be an I above it. Any idea as to what this is? Thanks... ## Hi Venable, Right now the closest match I'm finding is a round light orange pill imprinted with a "2" on one side and a "P" on the other. However there doesn't appear to be any number or symbol above the P. This particular pill is identified as Dilaudid 2 mg, used in the treatment of chronic pain. Manufacturer: Purdue Pharma LP National Drug Code (NDC): 59011-0452 Does this sound like a possibility?

I am having a hard time finding info on this drug. Are these the same drug? What do the pills look like, for both of them? Can they be taken together with vicodin? ## Diludid is brand name for the drug HydroMorphone. Diludin is a common mis-pronunciation of Diludid. 2.Hydromorphone is a white pill with an M on one side and either 2,4,8 on the other (depending on the milligram) there is also a New hydromorphone out. It has time release on it and will have EX and either 8,12,16 underneath the EX -3.yes you can take it with vicodin if your opiate-tolerant meaning that you use opiates on a regular basis. ## To anyone viewing this post now, there are many more Dilaudid pills on the market now, as well as generic equivalents, so many more markings are out there. side affects if put into a patient without cancer ## Just to clear this up.... Dilaudid is not just a medication for cancer patients. It contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, which is a very potent narcotic opiate that's used to relieve pain, so it can be used by anyone that's in need of relief for severe pain, whose doctor has prescribed it. You can learn more Dilaudid details here. However, it will most likely cause some side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation, since it is an opiate. Are there any other questions?

Is there any organization in TN that will help with my cancer medications like Dilaudid and MS Conton ? ## These are both narcotic pain medications, so finding assistance for these types can be difficult. Do you have prescription insurance? If not, then you may want to ask your doctor about switching to the new Hydromorphone medication on the market that's called Exalgo, rather than the Dilaudid. There is an assistance program for it for uninsured patients and you can get more information and an application by calling 800-259-7765, option 2. If you're unfamiliar with it, you can read more Dilaudid details here. However, I'm sorry to inform you that there isn't one available for the MS Contin, since it is also available as a generic and therefore can already be obtained f...

I'm taking 2mg Dilaudid 3xDaily for pain management. Would I be better off taking the whole pill every 6 hours, or half a pill every 3 hours. Been on it for a week, and experiencing pretty intense nausea, so I want to dose it in a way to get the most relief, and the least nausea. Thanks! ## Hi JennG, It seems as though the side effects and dosage go hand-in-hand with many prescription drugs; so while upping dosage will likely provide more relief than half a pill, you may also be increasing the occurrence and magnitude of nausea. If you have to take this medication 3x daily every 6 hours, in my opinion it would be wise to take half a pill every 6 hours to determine how effective it is as relieving your pain. Taking half a dose every 3 hours would ruin your dosing schedule because in ...

little round white pill with k2 on8D16 ## A white round pill with the K2 marking is NOT Dilaudid, nor any type of narcotic. It contains 8mgs of Ondansetron, an SSRI commonly used for it's ability to prevent nausea. ## It never ceases to amaze me that some people have no clue as what medication that they are taking!! This is a perfect example!!

moved back to the fl panhandle about 6 months ago and desperatly need to get back to pm doc! Does anyone know one either panhandle (pensecola, milton, navarre, mobie,AL Daphne OR Orange, TX, even Louisiana, I cant take the trip south anymore ...but $30-$50 for a k-8 is ri-****-ulous. ## Due to the new laws, you'll have to find one in your immediate area. You, your prescribing doctor and the pharmacy that fills your prescriptions will all have to be within a certain radius to be treated and be able to get them filled. There are restrictions on pharmacies that limit how much of any controlled substance they can order in and have in stock each month, so they've had to implement strict standards on filling prescriptions. Does anyone know of a doctor in that area that they can suggest?
