How are you? Which one works better for pain depends on you and your body, that's something that's highly individualized. However, the 40mgs of Oxycodone was stronger than the Dilaudid, you'd need 15mgs of it for each 40mgs you were taking of the Oxycodone. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I wanna know if the 8 mg dillaudid have a blue Cole brand name one? ## Pain pills I want to know if they are a 8mg dillaudid that's blue? ## Hello, Michael! How are you? No, there is no name brand 8mg Dilaudid that is blue, they are manufactured by Abbott Laboratories and they list them all as being white. I also went through the generics, as well as Exalgo and none of them are listed as being blue. The FDA lists Dilaudid as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any other markings on the tablet in question?
I have been dealing with back pain and surgeries since 2006 and I am now at the point that my meds are not working very well and I really do not want to go any higher. I take 9mg of Hydromorph contin twice a day and 2mg of dilaudid 8+/day, 75mg lyrica twice/day, celebrex 200mg/day and celexa 20mg/day. I need to have my third surgery-spinal fusion in three levels and I am wondering what others have experienced and what other meds out there might work better or is there anything new?? I am 38 years old and a mother of four young children and this is all but broken me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced and be well. ## hi there I don't want to seem to be a pest but does anyone have any input to add to my post, where can I get the answers I need or is this a pl...
What is the narcotic in dilaudid .. is it the same as oxy or hydrocodon ? Just more poteant ## Yes they are the same thing which is opiate based pain pills. some stronger than others, flyboy ## Hello, Flyboy! How are you? As listed by the FDA, Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, so yes, it is another opioid analgesic. To give a comparison on the strength from RPH, you only need .75 of Dilaudid to equal each 10mgs of Oxycodone, thus, it is much stronger. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
Hi, I have chronic pain. I have Interstitial Cystitis, have chronic pelvic pain, shoulder pain, neck and back pain, etc. I am a 45 year old woman who has had 4 children so you'd think that I would be able to handle pain. However, I cannot. At 5'9" tall, I only weigh 115 pounds so you'd think that pain meds would hit me like a ton of bricks! They don't. I have a very low threshold for pain, but a very high threshold for pain medication or just medication in general. For instance, I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago. Before the surgery I was given Versed. Versed does NOTHING for me. I told the Anesthesiologist but he gave it to me anyway. It does not cause amnesia in me like it does in most people nor does it have a sedating effect. So he then gave me a dose of Fentanyl...
I have herniated disc in the cervical,(pressing on a nerve) and also have Factor five blood disorder, therefore I'am not a candidate for any type of surgery,I have Hydrocodone 10.325 mg. 6 a day and 2 mg Dilaudid for breakthrough pain, the dilaudid works via IV but the 2 mg pill does nothing at all. I recently visited two different spine centers just to find out they can't help at all because of the factor five. They suggested the pain patch,(which I simply don't want to be on) I have watched people on this patch and last about a year after being on it.I'am not one to give up and not one to be doing the narcotic nod,I just want to be able to live and be active with little to no pain.I have had several people mention the dilaudid just how much should I be taking for it to he...

My daughter has just been given this prescription: DILAUDID – 8 MG Take 3 Tabs PO TID for PRN 30Days Qty:270 Repeats:0 What does it mean? ## 3 pills twice a day for 30 days no refills, this is an unusual rx what is it for? ## The PO means per oral route, so that means to swallow them and the TID actually means three times in a day. Twice in a day would be BID. This is Dialudid, which is a very potent narcotic, so being told she can take 3 of them at once is very unusual and if she isn't tolerant to narcotics, they could make her ill, so she might not want to start with 3. Learn more Dilaudid details here. What was she prescribed them for? ## Oh and just to add a further note on part that I missed, the PRN means she's to take them on an as needed basis, so this...
Can't read the #S. Cancer pt. mixed up meds. Ativan mg. /The The dilaudid small white tiny pill no numbersthat I can read supposed to be 2 mg/ Xanax .5 mg generic also small white tiny pill. Can't seem to find a pic to identify. Too many generic pills out there. Do you have a suggestion of how I can get the correct type of medication generic name? ## Hello, Denise! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. The imprints would be the only way to positively identify that tablets. Is there any chance that you could get someone else to look at them for you and post back with the markings? Do you still have the original bottles? They usually list the markings on the pharmacy bottle. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side e...

Can anyone help or just talk. Can't take much more of this. Dayton. ## Dayton, have you talked to your doctor? There may be alternative medications you can try, such as a time released Oxycodone or Morphine, which are both very potent narcotics, which are very effective at treating pain. ## do not take any medications made by qualitest pharmaceuticals unless you want get more sick than you were be fore taking there so called meds. by the way endo pharmaceuticals owns qualitest i have taken three meds they make and got worse tylox; darvarcet vicodan &predosone???? ## You should try phent...
I was refused to fill my Dilaudid 8and OxyContin 20 mg prescription do to their good faith Pill policy. can I use their mail order company instead? or am I flag there also.? ## Hello, Sunny! How are you? I'm sorry about what happened. From what I understand, the policy is universal and you'd be listed under it in all stores, as well as for mail order. It would most likely be better for you to go to a different pharmacy. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Publix pharmacy on Babcock Road in Melbourne, Florida has had Dilaudid for the past several months. They have 8mg only, no 4's ## @paw, I think the best way to know for certain if any pharmacy in particular has something in stock or not, is to actually go there in person with your script in hand. Generally if you call and ask over the phone about availability they will more than likely say that they don't have any, since the pharmacy has no real way of knowing whether your an honest patient or someone who's potentially trying to rob them. This creates a sticky situation, because nobody enjoys driving around town for hours seeing who has what and when they might have it. Even if Publix truly does carry Dilaudid on a more frequent basis, you'd still have to check in person...
I'm unable to fill Dilaudid 8mg script. I have never had a problem until today. Walgreen's has always taken care of all my meds, I have stage 4 cancer, and it's been the only one I've been on that helps the pain, but doesn't knock me out. And trust me when I say I have tried them all. I'm in Brevard county, and all I have is a little paper, someone please PLEASE HELP me out, I'm 45 and do tied. {edited for privacy} ## Hello, Dra! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. We have reached the time of year when shortages usually occur for controlled substances due to mandatory manufacturing limits. Once a manufacturer has reached their maximum amount, they can not manufacture new product, until the new year. This is a narcotic ana...
is there any pain pills that can not be injected? My dr want to take me off of my dilaudids (240) 4 MG per month. the reason is because some one called my dr and told him that i am shooting them up. i showed him my arms and told him i dont and he belived me but said he has to protect his office. he gave me 2 weeks of my d's because my medicaid is not working at this time and d's do not coast that much. he told me he wants to but me on Kadians or Avinza. i talked to the pharmacy and they daid that kadian and avinza will not be coverd by my medicaid even when it is turned back on cas it is a name brand. i dont want to be taken off my d's so i am getting as much info on all types of morphine that i can i have seen on here that u can shoot up (injected) kadian and avinza. so i n...
Idk what to do. He has issues, so things easily get out of hand.. But will he just passout and sleep it off? Hes sleeping now but he said he could go into a coma. Idk if he just said it to say it or he meant it. Just worried and wouls like some help ## You need to call 911. Diludid (sp?) is the strongest pain med. I've ever had--that causes you to feel like Mario in the clouds video game when it first hits. He overdosed & could die. ## Actually one of the first warnings/precautions listed on the Dilaudid drug monograph clearly states NOT to have it with alcohol, for it can increase the risk of dangerous side effects; including overdose-related symptoms (such as going into a coma). Ref: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002633.htm In such cases it best to seek emergency medica...
My daughter in law just told me that my son has been IV'ing dilaudids with a friend at work. She promised him she wouldn't tell me but she's worried. He's 39 years old. They don't make him act crazy or anything. She really can't tell he's doing drugs! I guess the guys meet in the restroom every morning. He told her it gave him energy. It's a white pill with m on one side and 4 on the other. He's never been a drug addict, so we don't understand why he uses it this way. What should she do? She wants him to quit his job but he makes really good money. Thanks for your help.
UpdatedWhen u take the 80mg op after 6hrs can I take a 4mg of dilaudid ## Hello, Mimi! How are you? Yes, as long as your doctor has prescribed them that way. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. A controlled release and a regular release are often prescribed together to better manage pain. Is there anything else I can help with?
I have several physical back, neck, knee, foot issues that cause chronic pain. I have been on pain medications for about 20 years. Yes..I know it sounds like a long time. But I had small kids to raise and a very unsupportive husband. I am at a pain clinic. Recently I asked to be taken off of MS Contin 60mg. twice a day with 3 tablets of 4mg. dilaudid for breakthrough pain. I did take the dilaudid sparingly according to my activity level. Well..they wanted me to try long acting ELAGO in place of the morphine. I feel like the ELAGO does not last 24 hours and I feel like I need to take more 4mg. dilaudid. I also feel like I am getting a rapid heartbeat sometimes. Could you tell me what may be happening to me? I was hoping to not have to take anything other than the ELAGO ER, but it is not the...
My Son was given Deloden when he was in hospital for gallbladder. He became belligerent, had hallcinattions and was hard to deal with. Could this be a allergic reaction with his other pain meds of just a side effect of the drug? ## Hello, Maggie! How are you and your son? The actual name of the medication is Dilaudid, it contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone, it is a very potent narcotic and can sometimes cause those types of side effects in some people that take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
I have a small round light yellow pill with APO on top then a score through the middle and a 5 on the bottom just wanna know what it is ## Hello, Donna! How are you? From what I can find, this is a 5mg Diazepam tablet. It is a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?
