Difficulty With Teva Diazepam (valium) Changing Each Lot

I am so confused about Teva diazepam in the US.

I can get one batch of it and be OK for a while and then the next batch I am in cold turkey withdrawal symptoms.

The last time this happened was in May and the pharmacy exchanged it for a different lot. The new lot still wasn't as good as the old one, but it was better. And I got used to it. And now the newest one I got is even worse where I've had daily headaches and extreme agitation.

This pharmacy in particular always puts lot numbers on their bottles so I can see when it changes. But I wasn't looking for it. I only noticed the symptoms about 5 days after changing and looked at the bottle and then saw for the six months prior (I'm collecting the pharmacy bottles for an art project) I was getting the same lot.

As soon as the lot changed to this new one, I've been in nonstop agitation and headaches and now not sleeping.

Has anyone else noticed they are variable?

Did they switch their formula? They seem to make two forms, one with Teva on them and one with a Z. I know when I started on it they were using Ivax's formula, but I'm not sure if they changed.

Wow! I literally picked up a new RX of "Diazepam" That is SHEER GARBAGE! I've been through enough, with complications from ADHD Meds causing spasticity, and having Transverse Myelitis, I NEED Diazepam, as it does wonders for my spasticity and clonus. I recently picked up a MFG. MAYNE PHARMACEUTICALS... after noticing the stiffness in my legs, wasn't being relieved or upper body. I looked at the tablets and they ARE DIFFERENT!

I cancelled my diazepam since none are what they say. I bought a benzodiazepine test pack of five. 3 months in a row I took the test a full week after taking 10 mg 4 times a day. The test showed each time NO diazepam in my urine. The pharmacies in my area only have TEVA. It’s the worst really. Calling it Diazepam in my opinion is fraud! The pharmacy thinks I’m crazy but I did the tests and I know I’m not imagining this!

I guess I will need to follow up, to the terrible, TERRIBLE, FORMS OF diazepam! The last batch was PERFECTLY FINE!! Ever since the score changed, along with the ingredients, MYX 942 YELLOW 5, I looked up the NDC NUMBER, and only comes up with a liquid diastat spray? A.) I am not abusing these meds! I take them when really needed! B.)nor am I addicted to these meds *(benzodiazepines.) the less the better for me. But these pills are actually acting like Baclofen, Flexeril, or even Kevothyroxine! What the hell, I am upset that the med order from my pcp/neurologist would think this is better for my health! Come on!? Let's stop the bulls**** ! I am not naive about meds. I usually have a month supply of real diazepam 5mg tablets from DAN, IVAX, MYLAN, last 3 months! My pcp wants to blame diazepam for the neuropathy, when in fact it was the Concerta 27 ALZA with, fluoxetine, Prozac, Abilify, or Atomoxetine (Strattera). That caused such damage!!! Not the diazepam for god's sake! These dr.'s must think the college education medication wave are dumb. Because I will not buy it. Btw. Depending on your status. You can change batches all you want! Sometimes medication orders are made to cater to you! Order are the ingredients that make up a specialty pharmacy medication!!!! For those curious! This Mayne MYX/94 score is causing numbness in hands, a stiffened gate, and higher anxiety! Need info on Mayne MYX/942 yellow 5 tabs. Thanks!

Diazepam has a longer half life; this might be why using a different manufacturing process cab make you so sick and causing unpredictable withdrawal. They used to use ativan for benzo and alcohol withdrawal but it seems like the valium is more popular now which raises the concern over selling it to another company.

Buspar can help even out the waves of uncomfortability, but with valium I doubt it would be successful. I really like the valium because it does not knock me out like ativan. Maybe a small dose of klonopin might help. I just hate to hear someone going through benzo withdrawal for no reason.

If you're crazy try a dose (that means one) of Librium (Chlordiazepoxide), that should keep you on an even keel for about a week (while taking the Valium), this procedure is usually only used in hospitals so talk to your doc and do not attempt this on your own.

I had the same problem. I went to the hospital and they said I tested negative for benzos! My doc was like what the heck... It's nice to know that I am not alone in this struggle.

Hello there. The PROBLEM IS NOT CHANGING BATCHES! You need to have a conversation with your Doctor! REASON BEING; "Have you ever heard of SPECIALTY MEDICINE?" This is usually within a Hospital to where a Physician will write out an order for 100-500 Tablets. Hence the difference in tablet score. There are Pharmacy Technician's that will receive the "Order" written out is a list of ingredients. For example:

Only!
1.1/8 magnesium chloride
2. Sulfur dioxide tsp.
3. Sodium chloride

Etc. Etc....THERE HAS TO BE [20%< OR >] Of a metabolite" META-BOL-ITE" That is discarded from the body as Oxezapam.
This is usually sent from the Hospital to your PHARMACY(S). THIS IS WHERE I BELIEVE THE MEDS TODAY ARE GETTING WORSE/& OUT OF CONTROL. UNFORTUNATELY in Lamens TERMS. Unless you talk with your DOCTOR OR PHYSICIAN THIS WILL NOT BE SOLVED MOST OF THE TIME!

The Z SCORE I'm sure people that have taken a healthcare STATISTIC Class will know the Z score may stand for a duration in 1/2 life, potency, or AFFECTS being recognized, such as slouching for poor posture, or any other behavior, like mental clarity, or psychological function, cognitive behavioral functions.

PLEASE DON'T BE MAD AT ME, THE MESSENGER! This is why there are SO MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIAZEPAM TABLETS! YES, YOUR DOCTOR MAY BE TRYING A DIFFERENT APPROACH. DIASTAT, TO LIBRIUM. HENCE WHY MY TABLETS NO LONGER SAY "DAN" ****? MYX IS BEING USED TO SEE HOW THE EFFICACY IS VERY TERRIBLE/HORRIFIC. GATE/LEGS STIFFENED. NOT RELAXED/MORE AGITATED, HEIGHTENED REFLEX ON UPPER EXTREMITIES. I HOPE THIS HELPS TO DO AWAY WITH CHEAP INGREDIENTS THAT DO NOT HELP.

Teva has destroyed their Trazadone into nothing. It's not just Diazepam. Had to get a doctor to help me out of a bad situation of confusion, loss of sleep for weeks, and a lower immune system.

Hi there, Yes the formulas are ALWAYS changing! I work as a PTch. The main point is this... [Many people get different meds* Not everyone picks up their meds on the same initial pick up day, for example; some people whom pick up "diazepam" for example, may pick up their months supply at your pharmacy "Lets say a day or 2 later." Most manufactured bottles carry 100 count AT LEAST. Some are 500 to 1000 count. For the sake of the question, lets call this a TEVA BRAND. BY THE TIME YOU GET YOUR NEXT REFILL, BY THE NEXT MONTH. 3 FULL TEVA BOTTLES HAVE BEEN USED, Most likely when you pick up, there will be a new FRESH, Bottle being opened. I HOPE this helps in making sense. The active INGREDIENT IS STILL DIAZEPAM, And with this being said. Please ask the pharmacist, at the time of PICKING UP, WHAT THE INGREDIENTS ARE IN THE DIAZEPAM YOU JUST PICKED UP. Thats all I really can say, because, You are correct. The formulas change ALL THE TIME. YOU ARE NOT CRAZY FOR THINKING THIS. Yes, you have the right to ask for an alternative generic, before taking the generic prepared for you. *Example; You get TEVA, You can ask the pharmacist to switch THAT TEVA, to "MYLAN", I, myself need to take Diazepam as well for heightened cognitive ANXIETY, muscle spasms as well. I have found the MYLAN brand works VERY well, and is the most consistant. Due to the Psychoactive properties in Diazepam.

My pharmacy used to order the manufacturer that worked best for me. They have never given me Teva diazepam, thank goodness. I've been taking 3 Trazadone a night for years. Qualitest worked best for me. Now they have a dispensing machine and can only sell what is in the machine. They gave me Apotex Trazadone while I was working mixed hours. I thought it was the hours causing different feelings and moods. My chart there states "NO TEVA or PLIVA". Yet, they gave it to me through the machine back in April. There has been no consistency. It got to the point I was crying regularly(male here). I would take three and not even sleep. Next month, I might sleep two hours. Next month, it was as if I was taking nothing. I started having problems finding words on occasion, didn't want to be around people, and my immune system started going downhill from confusion, stress, worrying, and most likely no sleep or rest. I'm on my second round of steroids and antibiotics in two weeks and not getting better. My doctor recommended taking only 2 Trazadone by Apotex(changed pharmacies to stay away from Teva), gave me a prescription for extended release Zolpidem TART 12.5 mg, and had to place me on generic Prozac. My mind is functioning well again. I'm sleeping well again if I stay up late, but cannot seem to rid myself of congestion and a cold from being weakened. He gave me two weeks medical leave from work, but I may need more. I cannot help customers in a mall with Covid's presence and a weak immune system. I'm over 65, too.

I read where Teva is checked the world over for their manufacturing processes, but what about the chemical formulas and the amounts that keep changing? They could kill someone and who would know the better? TEVA needs to be sued or closed down...or both. Their quality control for chemical compositions and regularities is non-existent. Please be careful out there and watch your loved ones' meds. If they say something isn't right, they should know. No more TEVA products for me.

Truly eye opening for me, being in the same but unknown state since a couple months before start of 2022. Have been on Aprazolam/Clonazepam/Diazepam for almost 2 decades, finally settling with Diazepam for the better part of 5 years. It began to stop working, exactly like taking a crap sugar pill and going nuts.

Switched to Clonazepam same thing... Not going on back on Xanax, switched back to Diazepam.... same crap and I think my next step is in honesty flushing this bottle down the toilet, discontinue.

These are not in any way shape or form a Benzodiazepine at least Teva Diazepam (Trademark formally), and Clonazepam which I believe was Mylan don't quote me - but hey I never liked Mylan in honest.

Whatever this stuff is - it is not the old, and to be honest I think simple medications like Dexedrine (Dextroamphetamine) which I am also prescribed seems to have changed formulation a total of 29 times that I can see digging through literature on PubMed PubChem and others, it seems they do this often but it wouldn't surprise me if how in the way the Pharm comp are changing all of their medication. For the new ones all the rage in corp. in pockets.

(anyone know of some good herbal and true medicinal quality items to utilize for withdrawal and yes I'm aware of tapering and the possible effects from withdrawal I am only asking for we are all going through this together.

Valerian Root, many other anxiolytic herbal remedies.

Mayne is still better than Teva brand. Wish I could still get anything but Teva. Only getting name brand till I find a better generic.

OMG. After 44 years of taking a low dose of Valium, I had to switch to Teva diazepam. Eight days later, I have had a headache every day and feel slightly nauseous. The doctor says it's the same formula as Valium, which is not true as I see different additives in addition to the missing ones. But yes, it has the same main ingredient. I am tapering down because I don't like living on Tylenol. It would be nice if the doctor understood. He actually thought I needed to increase my dose to prevent headaches. No way!
