Difference Between Yellow Hydrocodone Acetaminophen With 1096 Vs White Pill Same Strength But U03. Both Say Sub For Norco. (Page 6)

Updated

Just want to know difference between both pills, beside Manufacturers. I was taking Hydocodone-Acetaminophen 10-325 yellow pill #1096 on one side a V on other side. I was then switched to a white oval pill with the same strength, but has U03 on one side. both say substituted for Norco.

Their is NO Difference if you ask a Dr or Pharmacy or a Manufacturer. BUT if you ask the User/ Addict they will most Definitely Say One IS Better than the Other & It's about a 50/50 Vote so u would Again have to say their the exact Same thing. Same Chemical's Same molecular Make up & as one who HAS had it All unfortunately I would say the NEW ones lie the One your inquiring about are Better than the Old Yellow ones & White ones. My Second Personal Choice would be the Yellow Guys !! Either way their all the same & do the same Things !! Be careful with Narcotics they sneak up on you & you cannot live without them before too long !!

your ignorance is showing ...... the bioequvalnce is supposed to be equal but in what manner are they equavalent .....2grapes& 2 bananas or 2 apples & 2 oranges or 2 blackberries & 2 strawberries ......... each of these are the bioequavant of 4 pcs of fruit but no two groups of these bioequavilents will react the same when eaten

The difference : a doc explained to me that the coating on the yellow is not as thick as the white they are both suppose to be time Release the yellow dissolves quicker then the yellow the white takes longer to dissolves slow so the white you don't feel the full effect as fast as you would the yellow that is what a doc explained to me is this is so I don't know but it makes since

read the article that says fda rules only say that they have to be bioequivalent when done ........ i have chronic pain for decades and have used a lot of various hydrocodone brands .... and the coating explaination does not fit with my experiance .... ir it was a coating issue eventually they would give pain relief and that failed to happen .... so i used to use the 20% variance argument but subbosedly that is misleading and i found the article explianing bioequvalent idea so now i use the fruit argument

Ray (# 108) --

You're just a bunk trying to stir up bull. When you become a doctor then you can judge! It sounds as if you don't have a life, so you might need to get one instead of judging others that have medical problems. Sounds like you're an addict trying to deny it. Pray you don't have to live in pain as most of us do!

In the first place again.. I was not talking to you! I was referring to myself when I said "Addict", altho if u have been taking pain meds as long as I have you are an addict & as you said you've been taking them for "decades"...Right?? Secondly, I am a walking talking medical book buddy.. So take your "wanna be" dr self & ease on down the road! You don't know me & u obviously know nothing about the drugs you take.. I, however read about anything I'm prescribed before it ever hits my lips! Don't talk crap to people you don't know! I'm an e4 ret. Lieutenant in the U.S.M.C. E.O.D. 1992-01..Tagged by an rpg in 01..So yeah I know a bit about the stuff I take. I don't guess & I sure as s*** don't get into arguments with people I don't know by sticking my nose into a conversation that has nothing to do with me. Which is clearly something you need practice in! You are done wasting my time now!

Re: Ray (# 109) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you sir for your service first of all. And you're correct about the person taking them for years, they are addicted. Let them stop and not take anymore. Just because a person takes meds for pain from a doctor doesn't have anything to do with being an addict.

Re: Long road (# 113) Expand Referenced Message

Thus a diabetic and organ transplant and those with high blood pressure are addicts to their meds as well since they have to continue taking them daily or they may die from not taking them - the word addict comes with predetermined connotations and although pain patients may technically be addicted they do not fit the definition of addict (compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance such as opiates, nicotine, or alcohol, characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly: persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful). Pain patients do not take opioids because of a compulsion. They take them for a medically inclined reason due to a flaw in their body, just as those mentioned above - and just for the record there are times I stay in bed and try to not take my pain meds and I have yet to go into sweats and have major stomach cramps (I follow my prescription directions very closely and do not over-medicate nor do I supplement with alcohol or other drugs). The key is to follow directions and understanding the pain will never be gone completely and try to not take them (when you can) so they maintain their usefulness.

When the drug companies lowered the Acitominiphen to 325,many people said they weren't as good as the Hydrocodone 10/650. Solution...Take 2 reguler acitominophins with the Narco 325.Acitominophen serves as a booster for the effect of The Hydrocodone.I have stopped taking Hydrocodone since 2012.

Re: Carla (# 116) Expand Referenced Message

I explained to my doctor about how the white didn't work for me and he said no problem he would fix it and he did but some insurance won't pay for them. So I at one time used CVS drug store to get the yellow ones. You might need to call different drug store to see which one they keep in store. Some insurances just pay for the cheapest one.

I too have been taking the Yellow Qualitest brand for 2 years for my cancer pain. When my CVS pharmacy switched 2 months ago to the white U03, I could tell the difference within days. I kept thinking maybe I was getting worse or something else was wrong.

I'm sooooo angry that this is happening and without our knowledge; all for the sake of their profit. I just called 5 different pharmacies till I found one that still stocks the Qualitest; a small non-chain pharmacy!
