I receive 10mg Methadone made by Roxane Labs... my cousin receives 10mg Methadone made by Mallinckrodt Pharm... my cousin and my sister SWEAR & keep arguing that the Mallinckrodt is stronger than the Roxane.. i've explained that they are the same exact medication & strength, just different makers/distributors but they keep arguing they are stronger.. can you give me some answers or explanations that they may listen to?

Personally I can agree. I’ve just recently gotten on subs and at first was given Malli and now they switched to Roxanne’s and I totally tell a diff. I do not feel the Roxanne’s work! I’m deff gonna push for my malli ones again! They helped so much!

OMG!!!! U R THE FIRST PERSON TO EVER MENTION THIS!!! I have tried for so long to find out the answer to this nightmare. I also took Roxanne.10 mg tablets. Never ever a problem with it. Ever. It worked. It gave me back my life. I have sever and chronic pain in legs feet arms and hands. Then a few years ago got a refill that was making me sick. Affected my heart and put me into withdrawls!!! Thankfully I had some of previous months refill left over. So I started comparing them. First off the new ones were so BITTER! I also noticed that they didn’t dissolve in my mouth like the normal ones did. I could hardly I could hardly get a sip of water in my mouth before they normal tablets would start dissolving from the saliva in my mouth lol. The new ones didn’t do that. In fact they didn’t seem to dissolve at all. When I looked at them side-by-side the new ones were slightly taller and slightly lighter in color, the markings on them though they were the same brand and same strength and everything else they were kind of askew. The marking were kind of messy. They just didn’t look right. I was getting these from the same pharmacy I always had too. thankfully my doctor knew me well and believe me and trusted me. I started having my methadone compounded into liquid with no binders no fillers nothing extra. My dr thought perhaps I’d developed an allergy to one of the binders. Maybe. But I could TASTE the difference. They tasted..... dirty. I don’t know another way to explain. I even wondered if maybe machinery oil, or SOMETHING like that was getting in the medication. I don’t really know how medications r made, so dont know if this is possible. I also wondered about cross contamination with other medication. It happens. More than u know. Anyway my compounded water only base methadone was fine for about nine months. In fact I was able to reduce it. Without all the binders and stuff, they seemed stronger? I went from 30 msg 3 x a day down to 15-20 mugs. Then after about a yr, happened again! Only this time I KNEW what was wrong with me. The first time it took me a few months to understand it was my methadone! Made my heart go into AFIB, also made me sick to my stomach. I felt as though there was a hose clamp around my brain stem! The headaches were awful. There was that awful taste again! sure enough the same side effects followed I would love to talk further with you I’ve been looking for someone else that suffered the same situation. I hope you found relief I also hope you will contact me here thank you take care. I’m so glad u posted this. I thought for sure, there would be lots of others talking about the same thing I experienced. U r only the 2nd person I know of that had trouble with Roxanne. Take care.

I have noticed that since WestWard bought out Roxanne and now make their methadone, it stopped working. They had to have changed a filler or binder to save money. Now they have screwed my life up. I cant believe more people have not noticed. I didnt know until I started researching after feeling so sick.

Has anyone else noticed that Roxane has sold their patent to Westward Pharmaceutical out of Eatontown NJ ? & how s***ty they are compared to when Roxane Phama was making them? they have the same imprint and the label and bottle are practically the same looking, just a tad difference because of the new manufacturer,I've been feeling like s*** for the past 3 months, October, November and now part of December, I even went to the ER then as far as to go to an infectious disease specialist, and they said nothing was wrong with me...I've been taking the Roxane 10mg since they stopped dispersing the 40mg "wafers" directly after Anna Nicole Smith's death (her son contributed to the removal also) I was told that they stopped dispersing the 40s due to her & her son's death, so I have been playing "find the pharmacy" in order to get the Roxane brand, but like I said the past few months have been horrible, same imprint and everything, that's what confused me, otherwise I would've figured out what was wrong with me, which I did only after this one pharmacist gave me three unopened bottles of the 10mg pills and I noticed that the label was a little off, then upon further inspection noticed the WESTWARD name on the same looking bottle as the same guy gave me the three bottles like that a bunch of times..anyway, anyone else been feeling s***ty as well? I'd even rather take the ascend brand than the WESTWARD ones..wtf???

I am struggling so bad this month because I have always received the rectangle 10 mg and now I am getting these round 10mg junk and feel as if I am in withdrawal...this is def true and I am stuck taking this until my next refill.. This sucks and I feel sick...

I've been on Accend, Malli and Roxanne, and by far the Roxanne Labs Dolophine (Brand Name Methadone) is the most potent. As well as the Roxanne Labs Methadone they come in 5MG and 10MG Tablets, but they are more for Pain Management. and that Malli Methadose is for MMT patients. Honestly you call that the strongest, but Malli Methadone stronger then the Methadose. That's all you will get at the MMT clinics horrible Malli MEthadose. I've been on this Med for a long time, tried all BRANDS. TOP THREE: 1. ROXANNE LABS DOLOPHINE or METHADONE. 2. MALLI METHADONE not DOSE LOL! 3. ASSEND METHADONE which is garbage. don't get me started on METHADOSE JUNK!! their numerous different patents on Methadone in the U.S.A. BTW Levomethadone which they only carry in Europe is three times stronger than any Brand we have in the States and WOW Great for Pain if your MMT Methadose is for you the Liquid Handcuffs they call em, horrible stuff.

So overall to the Newbies their is chemically multiple different Methadone in the USA. Levomethadone which is banned in the states is anywhere from twice to three times as strong as any Methadone made in any State. So like said with quite the experience For MMT patience which is for Addiction only get Mallinckrodt M ethadose Liquid, which others say is brand name that is a no. Has a nasty chemical then their Methadone 10 mg tablets, which is mainly for Pain Management Patients. My brothers a chemist and did his studies and found out that the Roxanne Lab Brand name methadone (Dolophine) or even their Generic Methadone 10 mg tablets, are more like 13mg for the Dolphine and 12mg for the Roxanne Methadone 54/142 10mg tablets. Which is for Chronic Pain Patients and great for traumatic Neuropathy Pain. Finally the study showed that the Malli 10mg Methadone xannie looking pills 57/71 are about 7mg instead of the full 10 mg. The fda approves only 2 test results so the other 43 to 50 get thrown away :(. It's sad but as far as all of them for Chronic Patients i've noticed withdrawals when taken Methadose garbage. So for all my PM patients go for the Roxanne Methadone Brand or Generic their great and help alot, I've tryed the new 10mg Assend pills the next best and finally Malli Methadone would be the last thing i'd get if no pharmacy had them. Never go to MMT for Methadose cause after 80 mg of that junk PM patients could not take their BT Pain Meds. Whats great about Roxanne Methadone, Assend Methadone, Malli Methadone is great for PM patients and you can still take your BT Meds for example Dilaudid (Hydromorphone), Opana (oxymorphone), Oxycodone etc and feel the full effect and be able to take your Anxiety Meds with it like Xanax, Klonopin ETC..... With MMT and you have pain its not worth your time.

I can tell ya that the Mali ones are way stronger, I take 2 x20mg, 4x a day, and I'm able to work for the most part.. Now if I take 2,3 or even 4 of the Roxi's at a time, I'm still dying in pain, big time. So Yes, there is difference strengths of methadone per each manufacturer..

Methadose is by far the worst of em all, even worse than assend. I have chronic pain. Tried all of them and I get either the Roxanne or malli Methadone, never Methadose. Cool thing with Methdone is you can still take other opioids and feel em for example I take Dilaudid 8 mg 6x day and def feel them with my Methadone. Not Methadose. Ppl are so uneducated it's sad.

Btw the Roxanne 54/142 come closes to the dolophine which is the brand name made by Roxanne and that the Germans originally made for a sub for morphine. Boy those Roxanne help chronic pain way more then methadose lol. FDA has approved multiple Methadones so FYI the Dolophine and Methadone made by Roxanne more for pain mangement same with the malli Methadone not Methadose way different. Trust me I have Chronic pain and neropathy pain and top two for pain number one is the Dolophine 10 mg tabs and Methadone 10 mg tabs and last the malli Methadone 10 mg 57/71 are top 3 for Chronic pain. Methadose sucks unless your a MMT patient. It has a different chemistry trust me studied a lot about them.

As someone who has been on opiates for 13 years and wondered if I was losing my mind because the government tells us "THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BRAND AND GENERIICS OR ANY 2 GENERICS." THIS IS A LIE!! Government regulations allow companies a 30% variance from the brand. So yes, God bless Mallinckrodt, they choose to make there meds stronger (this is especially true with Methadone & Oxycodone. ...Always do your own research MHW

Exactly!! When you change different manufacturers you make yourself believe that what your getting is lower. Its true, methadone patients hate change and I've seen so many fights and blow ups at the clinic over the dumbest things. The FDA has such a tight grip on methadone, that it would be impossible for one manufacturer to create a stronger dose. And even so, your not going to feel a few mg difference. Its all in your head. If someone tells you that one manufacturer is lower than the other and you switch, your going to make yourself believe that there's a difference when really there isn't. I've been on methadone for years, I've probably been on each manufacturer. And we actually switched to mallinckrodt a few months ago and everyone was freaking out and "getting sick" cause it was different .seriously, mind over matter. I did just fine. Its like kids fighting for the blue cup instead of the red cause you know, the juice is so much better coming from the blue cup.

@CRPS SUFFERER: As for the amount of time it takes to experience withdrawal symptoms from Methadone, your doctor is mistaken. I've been taking Methadone for at least 15 years now, and unfortunately too many doctors don't completely understand withdrawing from Methadone. It's usually because these doctors only consider a medication's half life, and Methadone has a long half life. However, if you only have 3/4 of your dose in you, you're going to feel in withdrawal. For some reason that I'll never understand, too many doctors just don't get it. So it's completely normal that you go into withdrawal if you miss a dose. I don't know of anyone who takes Methadone who can go several days before being in complete withdrawal. It takes several days for Methadone, in most cases, to be out of a person's system, but withdrawal sets in way before then.

@Payneless, I've been on Methadone for my severe chronic pain for 15 years, and Mallinkrodt is the best, IMO. Don't confuse Methadone and Methadose; same drug, different name. From what you wrote, I think you experienced what I did. For 12 years I received 10mg. Mallinkrodt brand Methadone. They've always been rectangular and scored down the middle. Suddenly I went to the pharmacy 1 month and received large, round white pills manufactured by Ascend. Like you, I suffered the whole month. Next time I went to a different pharmacy and got smaller white round pills manufactured by Roxane. Fortunately, I didn't suffer withdrawal symptoms like with Ascend, but Roxane didn't control my pain as well as Mallinkrodt. There came a time when I had no choice but to return to the pharmacy that had given me Ascend. I asked if it was possible to get my Methadone from a manufacturer other than Ascend. (I had only recently realized the different manufacturers, and I didn't know Mallinkrodt made the Methadone that works best for me.) Luckily, I was talking to the pharmacist that places orders. Since I had explained my problem with Ascend, she asked what brand of Methadone works best for me. I could only say they were rectangular, but that was enough. Now, thank goodness, my pharmacy orders only Mallinkrodt for me, and I get the best possible pain relief. So, rather than going to different pharmacies, try talking to a pharmacist at the pharmacy you prefer to see if the brand of Methadone that works best for you can be ordered for you. Good luck!

I agree about the malindkrot. Ive taken them for 13 years and last week the pharm got ascend brand,their terrible. I believe roxane and ascend are simular. But malindkrot def. better.
