Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling.

Side effects may include: nausea, headache, dry mouth and dizziness.

And yes, it may cause liver damage in some people and please not that I have emphasized the word may. It happens to some people that take large amounts of it for long periods of time and yet others may do so for many years and never have a problem, so it is completely impossible to predict who will or will not have a problem develop from taking it.
