My wife is having pain in back and neck from several years. She was treated with typical medicine like Diclofenac and Loback by an orthopedic doctor. We have consulted a neurophysician few months back. He prescribed, "maxgalin er" for a month. It has given a relief for couple of months. However, we have observed a side effect that she was having internal balls like ones inside the muscles (May be nerves?) which don't have any symptoms from the outside. I have found a small round pill in my home with DIC 50 on one side a strange shape on the other. I have seen similar queries of a snail, i thought it could be an apple? My mother has a bad sciatic nerve which causes her pain quite frequently. This morning, she was looking for her Diclofenac and couldn't find it, so she took the last two Aleve and laid down. I found them for her, but now we're unsure if she can take one so soon after taking Aleve. It's been about 20 minutes since she took them. Is it alright for her to take her Diclofenac? ## No, these are both non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, so that would essentially be doubling up and she should not do so, without her doctor's approval. This makes me suspect that it's probably something that's available over the counter, I know GNC makes several nutritional supplements that are sold under the Ultra name, so it may be one of those, but I can't be sure. I have been prescribed diclofenac gel and was wondering if there are any side effects. I was given this as oral nsaids are very hard on my stomach. Also, is this beneficial for a condition called Trigger finger? ## It can cause the same side effects as other NSAIDs, however, since it is topical, your body doesn't tend to absorb as much of it, so this prevents these problems for most people. It can generally help with any condition involving pain and inflammation, however, as with any drug, it doesn't work for everyone. Until Dec 2016 I have been taking Arthrotec for years and never had a problem. Walmart will not take my plan D Envision RX Plus and so I switched to Walgreens which will. I am allergic to sulfa, sulfite, etc. and when I got Walgreens Arthrotec I got sick and had a blood clot. I ended up on Coumadin for probably the rest of my life and the doctor does not want me to take Arthrotec. Does Walgreens get their Arthrotec from Canada or some place that has a filler with sulfa? Arthrotec has worked for the pain of osteoarthritis and I do not want to have to go in the hospital again or give up the Arthrotec.
