artritisy ## I want to know is with ulcer history I can take artribion, I was in the hospital two weeks ago due to bleeding ulcer. ## It is difficult to find a lot of specific information on Artribion, there have been several posts made regarding what it contains, but so far all seem to be different and there is no official listing. That said, no since the Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, it is not a good idea to take it if you have a stomach ulcer, because it can cause further stomach damage. I am taking diclofenac and was wondering how long is safe to take it (75 mg twice a day) and when I am ready to stop taking it - is there a way the dosage is supposed to be decreased over time? ## In regards to medications like Diclofenac, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, there is no set time limit that is safe to take them. Long-term use may cause damage or failure of the liver, or ulceration of the stomach, but there is no way to know if it will happen to any given person undergoing treatment. And no, it isn't addictive like opiates, so a tapering usually isn't needed, though if someone has been taking it for awhile, they may experience some minor rebound effects. Is there any other medications to avoid while drinking these... whatvare the side effects. My father was taking these and he had very bad nauseas, had zero appetite for over a week. He was taking other medicatios along ans I wanted to know if this was the problem ## From what I could gather there aren't any vitamins that interact with Diclofenac. If this were the case, you wouldn't be able to eat anything, since all, if not most foods contain vitamins and minerals whether they are fortified or naturally occurring. However it is still important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. I also wanted to note that both "nausea" as well as a "loss of appetite" are listed as severe side effects of Diclofenac. In which case ...

i am taking 75mg of diclofenac twice a day. How safe is this drug. the internet says it is the most dangerous of all nsaids. Is this true at this dosage? ## Hi Roger, From what I could gather, the usual adult dose of Diclofenac ranges from 25-50 mg orally 3 to 4 times a day or 75 mg orally twice a day. Diclofenac Extended-release dosages are usually administered at 100 mg orally once a day. A number of webpages also make a point of mentioning that the maximum daily dose of Diclofenac is: 225 mg; or 200 mg if you're taking the extended release version. In my opinion, 75mg twice daily (150 mg total daily dose) should be fine for most individuals. However, dangerous side effects can happen with any drug depending the person. There are many people that would take it and likely not realize that it contained a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, with the vitamins. And yes, it may cause liver damage in some people and please not that I have emphasized the word may. It happens to some people that take large amounts of it for long periods of time and yet others may do so for many years and never have a problem, so it is completely impossible to predict who will or will not have a problem develop from taking it. I thought I would go ahead and provide some extra information about this pill for anyone who doesn't have experience with it. Rumoquin NF is made in Mexico and is used to treat acute cases and exacerbations of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis. I was given diclofenac sod 75mg for joint pain. I also have a severe fluid retention problem which I take meds. for also, could this contribute to this problem?
