I've been taking Invokana 300 for about 19 months. Lately I've noticed slight numbness in my toes and ankles. I've also recently heard that Invokana is associated with increased toe, foot, and leg amputation. I've read that you should report new pain or tenderness in those areas but wondering if the numbness is also a concern. Has anyone reading this experienced this? ## Hello, Polly! How are you? You can really never go wrong reporting any new issues to your doctor, just to be safe. Honestly, most of them have heard it all and are ready to deal with whatever is thrown their way. If a doctor gets upset over it, then it is time to move on to a new doctor. Going by NIH reports, as well as my experience with my ex-husband being diabetic, this symptom could be related to the...

want to talk about drug taken: BENEDECTIN I took the drug back in 1979. ## We've had several posts asking about it, recently and I finally found some details on it: It was commonly prescribed to treat morning sickness. Though there were claims of it causing birth defects, the FDA never found a definitive connection. Has anyone else taken this? ## I was born in 1976 with my left hand missing. My mom took Debendox while carrying me. I am currently in connection with a further 3 people all with hands missing all parents had taken the drug ? ## I took benedectin for morning sickness in 1970 and just started to investigate all these years later to see if it is why my daughter developed type one diabetes at age 7. I took Invokana (100mg) for 1 year and have now stopped. My FBS is now over 240, where it had been 150-160 in the past year or so (without Invokana). My readings are above 200 all day, regardless of my food intake. I take 1g of Metformin twice a day and 10mg Glipizide twice a day and still have these numbers. I'm concerned that the Invokana use over the past year has biased my system to be strongly diabetic whereas before it was much less so. I realize it's been a year and my condition could have changed while taking the Invokana but there seems to be a rebound effect. Has anyone experienced a blood sugar rebound effect after stopping Invokana? Thanks. ## Why did you stop the Invokana? The FDA does warn that it can be normal to have rebound issues, when you stop such a medicatio...

How are you? It would be best not to change your dosage, without your doctor's approval. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, cold sweats, hypoglycemia, and headache. What dosage are you currently on? ## If you're taking other meds for your sugar they need to be lowered by your doctor. Why you are taking Tanzeum? 102 is a great before meal reading.

I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes on 5 Jan 2017,when my blood glucose was 718, with a HgbA1C of 9. So began my journey on Regular insulin and Lantus, with a drastic change in diet and a script for Metabolic Surgery(the new gold standard for the treatment of diabetics that are morbidly obese) I was switched to metformin which caused major gastric problems, then went to Januvia with glimepiride, then advanced to Jardiance 25mg with glimepiride 4mg twice a day. I have changed my diet and started exercising 3-4 times a week. I have lost 45 lbs and have had to cut the glimepiride out. So presently I am taking the Jardiance daily in the am and my A1C is down to 5.4 and my average blood sugar is in the low 100's. I have had one UTI, and the weight loss as side effects from the Jardiance. S

My serum creatinine level has been 2.0mg for four years and I've been suffering from diabetes for 12 years and high blood pressure for 8 years. To control my creatinine I have been taking a tablet called Al-donil OD 150mg (one tablet per day). My sugar level is normal as well after taking the tablet and my blood pressure is normal (130/90) after taking the tablet. Please advise whether I can use Nefrosave in place of the Al-donil OD 150mg? My wife aged 63 is type 2 diabetic. 20 days ago she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and her blood sugar quite high e.g. 348. On further investigations it was found that she has H1N1 too. She was sent to ICU in isolation and treatment for pneumonia and swine flu along with diabetic treatment started. She was on oxygen. She was quite critical. Fortunately she didn't go on a ventilator. After 10 days in ICU she was shifted to ward. After three days she was discharged. Her sugar was in control and her lungs were clear. Medicines prescribed were Tredjenta, Livoflox and Unicontin e 400 (1/2 tablet in the morning and half at night) for 5 days. She is very weak and unable to eat much and whatever she eats she practically vomits. Should I discontinue Tredjenta and Unicontin or co...
