I did check the interactions between Metformin and several of them and, so far, they have all come up with the same warning that if the patience experiences any type of renal impairment and dehydration, it can increase the likelihood of Lactic Acidosis. I am 53yrs old male.I was detected with DM2 3 yrs back.I am on medication since then. In April, doctor advised me to take Galvus met 50/850mg before breakfast and Metformin SR 850mg in d evening. My wife is taking glycomet 1gm for the last 3 yrs n teniva 20 since last 6 months for treatment of diabetes. I'm trying to identify a pill that is a polygon & light orange with 4 on one side and SB on the other. ## I have been a diabetic for the last 13 years & started using 500 mg Metformin, then moved to 850mg twice daily along with Glimepiride 1 mg once a day. Metformin ER 500mg 90 day supply has IP 178 on back from AFB in Little Rock,AR. MetF ER Glucophage 500 mg has 142 on the back of the pill from the same place at a different date. I am 46 and suddenly had a sugar spike to over 315 (fasting), triglycerides over 300; I have been put on a jalra-m 50/1000 dose twice daily. Doctor ordered me Janumet XR but there was no way I could take these horse-pills. The pills were huge and they couldn't be crushed or cut. I had to go back on Metformin and Januvia separately. Maybe the company should issue the medication in half a dosage taken twice a day rather than these Monster Pills.
