Anyone had any experience with Viibryd yet? My doc just gave it to me today. Just wondering...

I have been on Viibryd for about 6 weeks now. It is interesting to see the posts on here. I also went from the 10mg, 20mg to 40mg. I always made sure that I ate before taking it because the info I got said it would work better. I am sure anything I ate came out in 30 minutes or less. Starting an odd job with different hours made it impossible to eat before taking it. I want to get better and took it without food, have been doing so for over a week now. I do feel it is helping me with my depression, and I no longer have the bathroom problem. I see my doc tomorrow and will tell him about this. Funny, I never put the dreams together with the drugs, but after reading the posts on here. I know it is the Viibryd.
Also, I was given my first supply dirrectly from my doc for free. I had to refill it today at the store, but was given a voucher (from the maker) by my doctor. I asked what it would cost me without the voucher and was told it would be 146.00 for the 30 day supply I got. Yes, I now feel like a guinea pig. I worry about affording it in the future after hearing it is no fun to get off of. But it seems to really be working for me.

Hi I just started Vii and have been on Wllbutrin for years. My doctor told me I could not take the Wellbutrin with Vii. I love the Wellbutrin but needed something for anxiety. What dosage is your Wellbutrin? Also have you had any side effects? Weight gain, SSEs, GI issues? Thanks!

I just got off of Viibryd 4 days ago and have already experienced a horrible nightmare. Im hoping to stop taking meds for anxiety but we will see how long that lasts. I started experiencing these brain zaps and feelings I was going to die on Viibryd. Overall I liked the drug but definetly wired side effects from it!

I had been taking Wellbutrin for over 10 years, to the point I wasn't even sure it was doing anything for me. The doc put me on Viibryd, telling me that he has heard many positive things about it. He gave me the 'starter' pack that went from 10-40mg, altho he said many ppl opt to stay on 20 mg and don't go to the 40mg. At first the Vii was a like a miracle for me, I actually was happy again (I had forgotten what that felt like), I was a whole lot more tolerant, things that would normally irritate me suddently didn't phase me. I was liking how I felt so I up'ed my dosage to 40mg. I never related the sudden dreams to the drug but maybe I shouldve. Either way it didn't bother me. My stomach did feel jumpy and I found myself visiting the restroom not long after I ate... despite this, after taking the medication for about 4 months, I became more aware of the bloating I was feeling. Everything on my body felt 'tight' like the day after heavily drinking lol. I didn't like that. Thereafter I noticed my clothes were getting mighty tight, something I never had trouble with before with Wellbutrin. The bloating, the weight gain was enough to make me want to get off the Vii, but that in addition to the lack of sexual interest or gratification made me call my Dr. and tell him I wasn't taking Vii anymore and was going back to Wellbutrin. At least with the Wellbutrin I never gained weight or felt bloated and I certainly was able to enjoy sex. I feel disappointed because I liked my personality much more while on the Viibryd, I like the fact I was so tolerant, non-chalant, smiled more, etc., but the bad in the end outweighed the good about it and so I'm back to Wellbutrin. I notice that my depression has increased about 30-40% again, but no longer feel bloated, I've lost a few pounds without trying, and my sex drive is back to normal. I wish I could find a drug that has the benefits of both drugs put together without the negative that Viibryd brought.

I started on 20mgs of viibryd at the advice of my Primary care dr. My Psychiatrist hadn't hear much about the meds but she said we'd try it. Well I started with the 20mgs and felt fine besides brain zaps as I was falling to sleep and also jumpy legs...she decided to up it to 40mgs about a month ago and lately I've been feeling majorly depressed. Waking up at 5am with major anxiety which leaves me tired and depressed during the day. I can't even do the things i once enjoyed doing. I wake up in the mornings gagging and vomitting. Diahrrea throughout the day, can't eat. My muscles are very achy. I cry every morning because living like this is so hard. I know this all has to do with the medication because I felt fine when I was on Zoloft it just made me gain a lot of weight. I believe if I werent dieting and exercising I probably would gain weight on this med too. I'm going back to Zoloft. This medication is making me literally go bonkers. Not good!

I have been on Viibryd for a almost a year now. I love it. I never stayed on the full dosage. When I took the 40 mg it was not please not like the 20 mg. I had vivid dreams and the head lightening thing that freaked me out. I talked to my dr. And he said I don't have to take the 40 mg until my body needs it. 40 mg is what you can take not what you have to be on. Now with that being said when I first started taking Viibryd my tummy was uneasy for about a week. And that was pretty much it. I am still on Viibryd 20 mg. and love it. I encourage you to try and stay on the 20mg. It is way better or for me anyways. I hope this helps some people out there.

I took 10mg for 7 days... I had diahriah which wasnt that bad. Stomach ach first pill for a few hours. It went away. Last night I took my first 20mg pill... diahriah returned but its not that bad still... ive had much worse side effects with other anti depressants... so far so good for me... I know its too early to tell if its actually working but I do feel like it is for some reason... when I go to sleep I dont think about wishing id never wake up. Maybe its placebo effect for now.. I dont know but I think I may feel a notch better... this is the 8th anti depressant ive been on in 6 years... ive never felt any releif off any other antidepressant at all. Ritalin has helped me get through my life the past 4 years but I feel more depressed at night when I come off of it.. my side effects have been minimal compared to other drugs... Ive had a low libido for the past year... it hasnt gotton better or worse from starting viibryd... I may notice it takes an extra minute or two to acheive orgasm but the orgasm itself has seemed a little stronger ironically. Hoping my libido comes back. My wife is always in the mood and with my depression im almost never in the mood for intercourse... I have to force myself to start intimate interactions even though im in love with my wife very much and I am very attracted to her body to this day. I want to have kids but im worried all the meds I take may be messing that up. We had twins on the way 2 years ago and lost them... we havent been able to get pregnant since... she got checked out and she is still good to have kids... im getting checked out this week. Im hoping Iviibyrd works and I can get off other medicines in case they are causing infirtility. Luckily I married into 2 kids at 6 months and 1 year old so they are basically my own so if I cant have any at least I have my kids now. Sorry for the background story.. viibyrd is suppose to work after 1 month ive heard... but I really feel like I may be a little better after only 8 days.. maybe im just being too hopefull but im usually the oppisite with antidepressants... I will update as the dose changes to 40mg and the weeks to come. Praying to God this works for me. Im tired of hating life. I want to be a good father all the time... I want to be happy for my kids and my wife.... I dont want to feel like im dragging my wife kids and parents down with me anymore... I just want a normal life like everyone else. God has blessed me with a great support group... I want to get better for them more than I want to get better for me. More than anything I want my family to live their life normal without having to worry about me... I try to act normal and not depressed as much as possible... but sometimes I just cant hide it anymore... ive tried to kill myself before I married... I dont want to get to that point again... I cant do this to my family anymore.. I need this drug to work. Im praying it does. I dont understand why god made me this way but I still love god more than anything in life and trying to let him guide me through this aweful depression. My best wishes to everyone here dealing with depression. Im praying for all people with depression every day. God made me like this for a reason... I dont know why but I know I can beat this and be a stronger man than ever. Viibyrd please work!!!!!

By the way.. my appitite has remained steady. No increase or decrease. I am pleased with my weight of 150 and 5'10". I hope it stays betweeb 150-160. I will keep updating as I continue viibyrd. God bless.

I have just taken my 7th 10 mg pill today. I'm still having diarrhea along with stomach pain, I'm experiencing dizziness and lack of energy. I started having very fast, blunt out of nowhere shooting pains in my feet and legs yesterday. I'm wondering if I should start taking 20 mg tomorrow as my doctor told me to but I'm scared that my side effect symptoms may worsen.

Viibryd warning: Legal action is in the works due to it causing SLEEP PARALYSIS & other serious side effects. Especially a severe form of discontinuation syndrome!!! Forest Labs (now under a new name?) refuses to acknowledge the sleep paralysis, but it is a problem for many. More to come!

you need to step down. 40mg was too high for me. This terrible effect is better at 30mg but I would like to get down to 20. Also, I do think that taking with solid food especially bread is helpful.

Libido hit like crazy the 1st mo. It wasnt normal. I felt weird...like I had taken Viagra!!!

It should work right away to make you feel happier & energetic. Stay on the dose pack though & I'd stop at 30. Just incase it's the 40 that causes the SP.

Also, no Dr. here obviously, only based on my experience, but are you feeling really depressed & sad or more anxiety? Because Vii doesn't work that well for anxiety....Cymbalta is better for anxiety & seemed like the perfect med, except for not having motivation.

If you are feeling sad....then maybe adding in Wellbutrin might help, but IMO, it could make SP worse, anxiety worse, insomnia worse.....but you can take Xanax and then Ambien at night to help. But at least you'd be feeling normal/good & it sounds like that is what you are praying for.

Just 20 mg. of Vii & nothing else....if you've been on the 10 mg. for days & then the 20 for at least 3 days, then what harm is there to bump it up to 30 mg for 2-3 days and then 40? I say this because I have a high tolerance....so it depends on you. I did that from 20 to 40 of Prozac at one time & felt really goofy. But Viibryd would probably just make you feel like you have more energy. It's the only antidepressant that I've come across that never made me feel weird, until the SP hit.

I think you need to call your Dr. You appear highly anxious & continue to ask the same ? repeatedly on several Viibryd forums here? I think I've answered you many times. Please realize that most people post & don't post again. Or a year or more can pass before someone posts again. AD's work differently for everyone. And only you would know how you feel. You are asking, but not sharing. If you'd like to share some details on how you feel, then you should get more replies! HTH!

Thank you for sharing this. I'm out of my current medication (Zoloft) and can't get in to see my psychiatrist or anyone else, unless I go to the emergency room, which I don't want to do, and was going to take some of my old Viibryd, but just remembered those horrible shock like lightning sensations and the sleep issues, which were the reason I stopped taking it. Thanks.

All A-D meds I have tried have side effects. Most even leapfrog on 1/2 a 10mg cause delayed discharge from testes. Started viibryd 3 days ago and tried last night for an hour and a half and could not get there. Have low self esteem with depression. Some one encourage me that this will get better over time? Welbutrin is the only one that did not do this to me and it caused daily headaches. I am in counseling for marital issues so those types of issues are not acceptable.
