Depression And Cilift
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I am Bipolar and take 900mg Epilum in the morning as well as 900mg in the evening. I suffer from severe major depression which went through the roof after a teriible year of great losses. My GP has now put me on 20mg Cilift. Will this work?

I am now week 3 on Nuzak (fluexotene/prozac). Although I am still suffering from severe depression, I have less bad side-effects and NO nausea (which was the most terrible thing about Cilift). Still sleep too much, but I am going to try and see if this works. Like I just stated, the side-effects of Cilift nearly killed me and that's the reason why I stopped it. I do however beome nauseas very easily from cetain medications, so maybe this will work for certain pasients.

Hi thanks for your comment and interest. Undfortuantely the Cilift and Bipolar meds (Epilum) clashed and I had the most horrible side effects. My nausea made me go through the roof. I ate nothing for 3 days and vomited and vomited my lungs out. I now stopped it after 3 weeks (it could help other people - my mood was defenitely better). But now I also stopped Epilum which I may NEVER do. Going to get a supply tomorrow and try out new anti-depressants.

Hello, Emispi! How are you?

It is an effective medication for many people, but the only way to see if it will help you is by trying it.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I still take the Epilum and just added the Cilift 5 days ago, as I understoof that the Epilum helps with moodswingsn whilst the Cilift will help for the depression.
