Depakote Pill Form Or Sprinkle Medication Not Helping

Why is a medication my doctor gave me to "lower my peak (i can't remember the medical term), causing me more anxiety and panic? Low dose 125 mg Depakote seems to be making my Xanax .5 mg 3 times a day, ineffective as well. So now I have double the anxiety and jittery feelings. He also said to sprinkle some of the capsule on a teaspoon of yogurt or pudding, applesauce, instead of ingesting it. Anyone else been told to do this? He is on vacation of course, and I am thinking of just stopping this medication after 2 weeks. With the high level side effects (he didn't even bother to ask me if I plan to become pregnant) I don't think this is worth the risk if it's not helping me.

I'm sorry, but it is difficult to answer you, without knowing what condition is being treated. The FDA lists this medication as being used to prevent seizures, as well as to treat certain mental health disorders. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and weight changes.

Even if it is sprinkled on something you eat, you are still ingesting it.

Why do you think it isn't helping you? How long have you been taking, it now?
