Day (4) Of Cymbalta....feel Awful...need Hope Please...
UpdatedI was on Celexa for Anxiety, Depression and Panic Attacks for over a year and it stopped working. I am now on day 4 of my psychiatrist switching me to 30mg Cymbalta. After 7 days I will go off of Celexa and be on 60mg of Cymbalta. The problem is I am so nauseated, shaky, sleep is sporadic and feel like I can't keep going. I want to be better so bad. But every day feels like an eternity. Can someone please give me hope of light at the end of the tunnel, that this will all be worth it?

Hello, Sally! How are you? I'm sorry that you're so miserable.
Yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but right now, you're dealing with withdrawal symptoms from one medication and the side effects of the new one. Thus, it isn't surprising that you feel the way you do. Rebound anxiety and depression, coupled with new side effects is a tough place to be.
The FDA classifies Cymbalta as an SNRI and lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, dry mouth and mood swings.
In a few weeks, once your body adjusts, things should improve and you'll most likely feel better.
Can you please post back and keep me updated?
Thank you. It's rough felling so sick and being anxious and panicky. I keep telling myself to stick with it, that it will be worth it. I sure hope so.
Hi Sally, I am on day 2 of cymbalta and it is doing the same thing to me and I am not weaning off of anything so I know it's the medicine so Im not going to take it anymore! Just a thought and opinion. Everyone is telling me not to continue takings it because they say if u ever go off it for any reason it is VERY bad!!! And if it's just doing this right now it's terrible!
