Daliresp Experience (Page 5) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been on Daliresp for one month. I have noticed significant improvement in my lungs. By that I mean the mucus is gone, wheezing is gone. My lungs seem to be getting clear and do not feel as heavy as they did before I started taking it. I have had my bouts of depression, I am never hungry, which is a problem because I am underweight as it is. Just wondering if anyone else has had success with this drug. I was hoping to get off oxygen at some point. Don't know if I can achieve that or not.

You might try taking Melatonin as another person said they were doing. I take 1 500mg capsule about 30 minutes before I go to bed.

I've being Daliresp for about 4 months with little side effects Then all of a sudden I began having anxiety attacks soon turning into depression. I wonder how long it will take if I stop Daliresp to see if its the source of the problem?

Have you checked to see how much it is without Medicare? Often the pharmaceutical company can work with a patient if you truly cannot afford to buy the medication yourself. I would contact the company directly.

I have heard that this drug is protected for 5 years so there will not be a generic version until that time is over. In 2010, I was hospitalized 7 times for COPD exacerbations and/or pnuemonia. I have been on Daliresp for two years and have not been sick since. My doctor gives me samples, but I have to pay for most. Cost > $200 per month. I would think the insurance would pay for the drug. Certainly alot cheaper as most of my hospital visits were > $100k. Go figure, not good thinking on their part

If you have medicare D coverage, most pharmaceutical companies are not allowed by law to assist a consumer! Makes no sense whatsoever, but I have been down that road before with other medicines. I wanted to try this drug too.. But I certainly cannot afford 200.00 or even 100.00 a month!

You can order Daliresp from Canada Drugs if there is no other option. It is half the price of what it is here in most cases. It does require a prescription. I ordered from them before Daliresp was approved here and went under the name Daxas. The service was excellent.

Lynn: Which pharmacy in Canada did you use? I looked into that and was a little scared to try..

CanadaDrugs I bought from them for a year before Daliresp was approved here. I had no problems whatsoever. The larger the quantity you buy, the cheaper the price.

When you get to their site, click on Place a New order and it will give you all the instructions. It's simple & they are reliable.

After reading a couple of the posts where people have applied for and were able to get their insurance to pay for this drug, I called Medicare and applied. They did all the work and in about a week I received saying that my insurance would cover it. I have Medicare D and United Healthcare through Secure Horizons. You do have to have Part D and a medigap insurance policy for the coverage, but that is the only restriction. I pay about 1/3 of what I paid before now.

Darlene, My insurance kept denying to pay for it. It took me 2 months to get an approval. Your doctor must fill out papers saying Daliresp is medically needed by you. They'll denied you 2 or 3 times and then they should okay.

It's in pill form now. It can take getting used to, but I am pleased with what it's done for me.

I take 4 nebulizer meds, and I have my rescue inhaler. I also take sporonox for aspergillosis. I see O2mostly at night, but sometimes I have to use it in the day. When I have an exacerbation I have to go on the dreaded p word medicine! Prednisone! I hate it! He side effects are atrocious for me,and I get them all. I have a vest to use twice a day to keep the junk broke loose cause I can't barely cough it up.
