Daliresp Experience (Page 3)

Updated

I have been on Daliresp for one month. I have noticed significant improvement in my lungs. By that I mean the mucus is gone, wheezing is gone. My lungs seem to be getting clear and do not feel as heavy as they did before I started taking it. I have had my bouts of depression, I am never hungry, which is a problem because I am underweight as it is. Just wondering if anyone else has had success with this drug. I was hoping to get off oxygen at some point. Don't know if I can achieve that or not.

Good to hear. I would bet all side effects would be gone soon. It took me a month, but then I had no further problems.

I tried half of the 500 mg tab on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I started feeling bad so I didn't take another, the last two nights my legs have ached so bad, can't sleep good, have bouts of crying and just so depressed. I may wait a few days and try again and maybe try to take 1/4 of the tablet. I don't know yall right now I just feel so down sitting here crying and I don't know why. It just seems nothing ever works for me. Well have a good day I've got to get up and move around.

It takes a lot of effort to get beyond the side effects. I do have empathy for you. Try every other day for awhile maybe. It took me a month, but the side effects disappeared as suddenly as they came on and I have not had a problem since. Also, keep telling yourself that you are feeling better. Your subconscious mind can do amazing things. Daliresp has been a godsend for me.

I wonder if it would be better taking it at night, I believe Liz said she did that, I think if I had the leg pain in the day it would be lots better than at night. I don't know just wondering.

I just felt like I had a bad case of the intestinal flu for a month plus a headache. I could barely eat. Spent a lot of time in the bathroom for sure. I plunged right in though and took the full dose from the get go. I took it in the morning without food. It's hard to not give up, but I know of no one who has had any lasting side effects. They go away.

My back and joints have hurt a little since getting on Daliresp, nothing severe, just achey. One of the adverse reaction is "flu like" symptons. The diarreha has stopped and also the nausea. Taking it at night seems to be working for me. I seem to have more stamina also. Mind over matter? lol

Has anyone noticed any dental problems after being on Daliresp? I have been taking it now for well over a month and I've noticed severe sensitivity in my teeth. I am trying to find out why this has suddenly started.

I haven't heard of that being a side effect. I have sensitive teeth and use a toothpaste recommended for sensitive teeth which helps a lot.

I have been taking Daliresp for three months. I am amazed at how much it has helped my breathing. I am still experiencing some of the side effects, mostly diarrhea, I am retired so it is more of an inconvenience than anything. I have many restless nights but I attribute that to other medicines that I am taking. I had panic attacks before I started taking Daliresp but they have gone away, maybe due to another medication that has been prescribed. I have lost 11 pounds since using Dalirest and I find that a blessing since I am overweight. I take it in the morning and I have had good luck doing so.

Been on Daliresp for about 4 mo.s now and can see a definite improvement in my breathing. I have lost about 12 - 15 lbs. but that's a good thing. Only problem now is insomnia and I take Melatonin that seems to help.

You might try taking Melatonin as the another person said they were doing. I take 1 500mg capsule about 30 minutes before I go to bed.

I've being Daliresp for about 4 months with little side effects Then all of a sudden I began having anxiety attacks soon turning into depression. I wonder how long it will take if I stop Daliresp to see if its the source of the problem?

The Dr. gave me samples of Daliresp, I had some minor side effects, been on it now about two months I guess. The drug rep told her Medicare would pay for it, if indicated. Well guess what they won't. I don't know what to do next, any ideals or any info would be appreciated. Is there any other drug similar to this that might be covered. Sad, you find something to help you and they don't want to help pay for it. I was scared to take it a t first but when I finally made my mind up, I got thru the aches and pains and they finally went a way, now I probably can't get it, but if the Dr. has samples she will give them to me...

I had the same problem with the cost of this prescription. I was in the "donut hole" and the rx was very expensive. My dr gave me coupon(s) for free samples but the coupon was only good for 1 refill. I ended up having it refilled & paying a lot for it. I don't understand what good it does to have a medication that is effective but no one can afford to buy it.

Have you checked to see how much it is without Medicare? Often the pharmaceutical company can work with a patient if you truly cannot afford to buy the medication yourself. I would contact the company directly.

I have heard that this drug is protected for 5 years so there will not be a generic version until that time is over. In 2010, I was hospitalized 7 times for COPD exacerbations and/or pnuemonia. I have been on Daliresp for two years and have not been sick since. My doctor gives me samples, but I have to pay for most. Cost > $200 per month. I would think the insurance would pay for the drug. Certainly alot cheaper as most of my hospital visits were > $100k. Go figure, not good thinking on their part

If you have medicare D coverage, most pharmaceutical companies are not allowed by law to assist a consumer! Makes no sense whatsoever, but I have been down that road before with other medicines. I wanted to try this drug too.. But I certainly cannot afford 200.00 or even 100.00 a month!

You can order Daliresp from Canada Drugs if there is no other option. It is half the price of what it is here in most cases. It does require a prescription. I ordered from them before Daliresp was approved here and went under the name Daxas. The service was excellent.
