I went back to clinic to get meds and when i got out the lady that does the intakes was very rude since i was in jail for 9 months and she would not refer me to another doctor, even though the whole time in jail they gave me my meds. Im having trouble finding a Dr that will prescribe xanax or clonazepam. Im 60 years old and i wss diagnosed when I was 25 my Dr then had no problem giving me xanax I was on the gor about 10 years then off for about 2 years and ive been on clonazepam ever since 2001
I feel your pain because I was in the exact same situation and I found where he/she moved their practice and have the person who takes appointments etc. get a message to the Dr!!
I am looking for a Doctor who is able to prescribe medication for excruciating pain. I have Adhesive Arachnoiditis, Spinal Stenosis, Spinal Hemangiomas, Scoliosis, Degenerative Disc Disease and Spondylosis. I was a patient at the Seattle Pain Center until it closed. They did over prescribe and I didn't take it all. As a result I had enough meds to make it through a year at a reduced amount. Since then it has been difficult to find a Doctor who treats the conditions I have. I have yet to find a Doctor who knows and understands AA. There is a pain center in Everett Wa. that I went to for a short time. The first Doctor I saw wrote scripts but at a very reduced amount. It was better than nothing. But she left the clinic. The second Doctor I saw said he didn't treat AA. Wrote me one script at the very low dose and wanted me to see a new Doctor that had recently joined the staff. He said that he does injections that really help people. He also said I should do PT and talk with a shrink. I believe that an epidural for childbirth at age 18 caused my AA.
It was at a teaching hospital and I was a Doctors first epidural, and he hit something and had a difficult time administrating this injection. I have also had mylograms and other procedures as well as 3 back surgeries. I have tried PT many times over the years. It only made the pain worse. I spent three and a half years in therapy to learn how to live with pain. This did not help. I did all of this without pain meds. I now wonder if the first surgery wasn't necessary if I had AA at the time. I don't know. Second surgery could have been because of first surgery. I don't know. I was a patient of the same orthopedic surgeon for 30 years. He is the one that did all procedures and two surgeries. He declared me completely and permanently disabled in 1999. No pain medication.
It was 2009 that I was finally referred to The Seattle Pain Center and for the first time in my life I was treated for pain!! That was when I was 65. I am now 74. The third surgery I had was to remove a large hemangioma on my spine. This was done at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. While going to the Seattle Pain Center my pain was controlled so that I was actually able to do things. I could go for walks. Visit craft stores, thrift shops, yard sales, etc. I could then repurpose items that I found. I could go out to lunch and attend grandkids activities. I was never in pain free and I don't expect to be. I'm getting old and my grandkids are growing up. I have missed so many family events.
My pcp treated me very badly in June. Before he even sat down after entering the exam room he said "what are you doing here?" I wanted to try to explain my pain. It's hard to do. I mentioned something about nerve pain and he became unglued. He scooted across the room on that little stool in an aggressive maner, our knees almost touching, and said "I have had back surgery for nerve pain and don't you ever mention that again". I apologized. I did not know. He was so angry! He really frightened me. Finally he waved his arms and said "I'm done!" He stood and waving his arms and said again "I'm done"! Then he stormed out of the room. He was very loud when this was going on, actually yelling at me. I'm sure others heard him. When he left I broke down. I was sobbing. The nurse came in and she was upset. She kept saying "what happened?" and "I don't know what happened" as she was rubbing my back. It took about a half hour for me to calm down enough to get myself home.
I have never disrespected a Doctor, ever. And I've never been disrespected by a Doctor, ever. He was my pcp for 9 years. I liked him. I thought we were ok. So now I do not have a pcp or pain management. I tapered myself off the last prescription I had. I did not have withdrawals. It wasn't bad at all. So I am currently mostly homebound. I have excruciating pain. Trouble sleeping. I need some help. Thank you.
I fell down a flight of stairs ,2 weeks ago and I went to Multicare in Tacoma and the only thing they prescribed me was Naproxen. I tried it and it did not work. I went back and they prescribed amitriptyline and that still did not work. I'm looking for a doc. Tacoma, Puyallup we ho will prescribe Norco or a narcotic to relieve the pain I have in my back
It's rough when a doctor you've been with for a long time retires. I used to see dr Jon Berner in Woodinville for 9 years until I couldn't afford him because I lost my insurance. He prescribes pretty much anything. Also for people on Medicaid, if you will also see a counselor, sunrise services has a prescriber that will give you benzos if you have no history of abuse.
My ex took Zoloft and Xanax prescribed by Dr. Roys after an extremely severe panic attack in 2004 that lasted three to four weeks. He disrobed, paced, stuck his head out of the windows, pantsed. It was BAD. Then Dr. Roys retired. Now my ex will drink, use illicit drugs and/or fall apart. Please help. Is there a psychiatrist that will prescribe Xanax in the Seattle area?
As I said in my posting, 120 pills is what my last couple Dr's prescribed me, which is why there was many many months where I had quite a few pills left over that I didn't take because I found some other way to relieve the attack or lucky enough to make it through a whole day without any panic or anxiety attack of some sort. I also said in my message that I do not expect every Dr to do the same thing either, quite the contrary actually. I'd be plenty happy with 30 a month, any more would be even better but I could make due with 30. L
Things are ever changing, and what you got before does not mean you can get them now. 3 x 1 mg is 90 a month, why are you speaking about 120 pills? I'd try a Psychiatrist who might help.
I'm just recently moved back to the Seattle area and I'm in dire need of finding a new Dr who will prescribe me aprazolam (xanax). I've been diagnosed with severe panic disorder as well as social anxiety disorder, for which I've been prescribed to take 1mg of alprazolam 3 times daily by my last Dr. I have been to several Dr's and if I got lucky, they would write me a prescription for 10-20 1mg pills to last me for the entire month. This was completely unacceptable to me since my last Dr gave me #120 1mg pills for the month, so going from 120 down to 10 or 20 was NOT an option for me. Most of the Dr's I saw would not prescribe me any pills whatsoever for various reasons such as my age (37), there being many other treatment options I should try first, aprazolam just like all benzos are highly addictive and are merely just a "bandaid" for the problem instead of any type of cure. The list goes on and on... I know I'm not going to "cure" my anxiety by any means and that's not what I'm looking for either. I just want to be able to make it through each day without my panic attacks and anxiety having 100% control of my life. I would also love to someday (if possible) have the ability to be able to keep a job for longer than a month before getting fired due to my inability to make it into work because my "bad days" happen almost 80-90% more than my good days as the result of not being able to take the medication that would change my bad day into a good day because I was prescribed such a small amount that I am only able to take it when I absolutely HAVE TO. I would completely understand being treated the way I have been by these Dr's if I had any sort of substance abuse in my medical history, but that's the part that upsets me the most, I don't. I have always been very very responsible with my medications, never refilling them early or ever asking for more, only taking them as they were prescribed and in most cases, I'd actually have pills left over from the previous month that I didn't take because I didn't need to. I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist when I was 13, who was the first Dr to prescribe me an anti-anxiety medication and since then I have gone to 4 other Dr's. All of which have prescribed me alprazolam with no problem whatsoever. Some required me to do some additional testing before writing me a prescription upon my initial visit which I had no problem with at all and completely understood. My last Dr I had been with for almost 9 years and would still be if it wasn't for having to relocate.
