Dbx-13 Scam (Page 8) (Top voted first)
UpdatedIn January 2013 - I recently purchased a subscription to the Health Sciences Institute (HSI) newsletter and got the book "Miracles from the Vault." I scoured the pages to find DBX-13 which they advertised as the diabetes miracle cure, and couldn't find it anywhere. I called HSI, and after three attempts and by threatening to take them to court for false advertising, a response finally came by email. DBX-13 is called X-Cravings. But get this... it is no longer being manufactured. X-Cravings appears to be a formula to help you stop craving food... a diet product... and I guess they apparently felt this would help you lose weight which would help your diabetes. I placed a call to the manufacturer of X-Cravings, Nutricology. Tel: (800)545-9960 who claims they don't know that X-Cravings was called DBX-13 by HSI, and they said they discontinued X-Cravings last year (2013). They also don't have a replacement product for it either. I hate when companies like HSI scam you by offering you hope that doesn't exist, which is why I am posting this information.
Wow, i wish i saw this post back then! so many of these posts i am not aware of until for whatever dumb reasons, i end up getting an email alert, which kicks up this old post, in the likely event that somebody recently read it and posted a comment to it, maybe being unaware that the originator of the thread started the thread upwards of a year ago or more, and that this person likely doesn't even use or visit this website anymore. I always wonder how that person is doing & hope that they are well. In this case, I would like to thank this person for this HSI post. I came SOOOO very close to purchasing this "Vault" health manual as well, after getting sucked into a really long video advertisement they had. I consider myself to be extremely well read, I am very perceptive to scams as an educated 45 year old woman, and it was not AT ALL apparent to me that they making an empty promise. They presented a ton of valid scientific data in their presentation and I do not specifically remember mention of dbx for diabetes, but I recall thinking they really had a great manual and I'd love to get my hands on it, just to have it as a reference and source. I could have just as easily been duped, too, and again, it was in NO WAY obvious whatsoever.
So with your diabetes gone, are you still taking Cinnamon and bitter Melon ? I would appreciate an answer very much.
I am surprised by your experience with HSI and DBX-13. I have found 2 cures for my Type 2 Diabetes from Jenny Thompson, Berberine and GlucoComplete. Both work. I also went into remission by following Dr. Berg by taking mostly high concentrations of potassium laden vegetables (I used Bok Choy), and my A1C got down to 6.0. With the Berberine and the GlucoComplete, I got down to 5.5, and could eat some sweats, French fries, and other cheat goodies at times. So I do trust HSI, and will keep a jaded eye on this DBX-13 issue. Thanks!
Yes, GlucoComplete uses a very refined form of cinnamon, and I do not consume any melon. I still have my Bok Choy high potassium vegetables, avoid carbs most always, and my glucose stays around 85-125. I have not used any diabetes meds for over 2 years. My type II diabetes is in total remission. Yeah!!!!
thank you! isaw that too and was looking for dbx 13 feel like such a sucker now!sorry ypu bought the book. hope other parts of it are true. we all hate taking all these meds that have side effects.. wish there wAS something natural and EASY
Pls I want to know if there are any remedy or good medication or anything at all that can help with hepatitis b
The problem with these posts is that if you don't identify the person of the response, you don't know who the responder is referencing. In many cases I can tell by context, but not always.
I have been using Sentra5 for the last year. The results have been very good. My A1c has been dropping 2 to 2 1/2 points every 6 months for three consecutive blood tests.
Thanks, Mark. I may try it.

Post 68: Martha, It sounds like you are on a special program. I paid a lot of money to be in a program such as you are describing, and I lost 50 pounds, dropped my blood sugar from 299 down to 100, and reduced my collestrial to good levels. I am now off of the program and numbers ae climbing again. Where did you get the information that led you on such a dist?
Sorry, everyone. Post 139: I meant to say my glucose dropped from 200, not 299. I hope nobody got impressed.
Don
If you lost 2-2 1/2 points on your A1c each of your last 3 checkups, that would be a total of 6-7 1/2 points which would put most people into a dangerously low blood sugar
range which makes your story sound phony.
Post 141, Beetle: It may have been phony. I couldn't get my comment to post, because the board kept asking me for more. So I finally quoted him (forgetting to put quote marks) and put my comment below. The bottom paragraph is mine, not the top one. Sorryl.
HSI's Jenny Thompson's advertisement also mentions BMP's for arthritis pain, Nitric Oxide for high blood pressure, and Policosanol(sp) to battle high cholesterol(LDL). I'm searching online for any info on these too and I will post what info I find. Thanks for the heads-up on HSI and it's bogus DBX-13.
please understand- you can NOT eat NO carbs- it isn't healthy. you need at least 60 carbs a day. yes it should come from healthy veggies. you should also skip the fat from meat- which is not healthy for you. lean meat is best.
a real recipe for disaster is having too strict of a diet. you need to allow yourself something off your diet at least once a week - but a very tiny amount. my doctor suggested a peanut-butter cheese cracker.
but before you think you can eliminate carbs from your diet, please be aware of the dangers. and remember it is not a diet- it is a life change. if you can change your eating habits, you can gain control.
don't think for an instant that you can diet for a week or two and then eat anything you want. even with supplements you can't. what i do is go ahead and purchase the things i would love to eat, cut them into bite sizes, and then freeze them. they are each put in a sandwich bag, then in a big bag. meanwhile i focus on fruit and veggies and slushes made from them. if i find myself absolutely craving, i take one bite from the bag. often by the time it defrosts, most of the craving has passed.
if i am still craving, then i allow myself that one bite- and i do take my bolus to cover it.
the one thing i do not do is force myself to live on less than 60 - 64 carbs a day. however, that even takes discipline. it is easy to go over in just two meals.
thanks for the info , i almost fell for the scam. Baj
Axne, I would really like to know how much, if any, your diet has helped your A1c.
My sugar is highest when I first get up in the morning. Sometimes makes me wonder if stress has more to do with it than carbs.
Thanks.
not so fast. actually, the best a1c range is about 6. if he were say 14 and lost between 2 to 2 and 1/2 points each time for three tests, then i would say he is now in the perfect range. what he didn't do is tell us how high he was to start. i think losing between 6 and 8 points is awesome
Had assumed that few people had an A1c level that high, and that if they did they wouldn't be using this discussion forum for nonprofessional advice.
All I asked for was how much your A1C had dropped because of your diet.
Thanks
Did you just eat okra in any form and how much, how often. Also how much lemon and cinnamon and in what form? I'd really appreciate more information. Thanks for your input!
