D Amphetamine Salts
UpdatedI am an adult female who does not have ADHD or ADD. I just wanted to lose 20lbs. My Doctor prescribed IC AMPHETAMINE SALTS 20 MG TABLET 2 times a day. I have no health problems. 1st pill I took made me jittery and a little dizzy. So now I am starting out with half a tablet once a day because I do drink an energy drink that is actually healthy for you and does not make you jittery or crash like most energy drinks do. My question is : Is this safe for me to take for 2 to 3 months? After reading all the side effects, it is scary. I am having a hard time losing weight since I had my son. I had him when I was 42yrs. old and I have never had a weight problem. This extra 20lbs is putting me in a depression but I am afraid of the side effects. I have only taken this pill 3 days. What do you recommend?

The Amphetamine salts are a stimulant, which is why they can help people lose weight.
The dizziness and jittery feelings are normal side effecs and should go away, after several weeks of use, once your body adjusts to the medication.
There is really no need to worry, unless you find them to be accompanied by other symptoms that could indicate a more serious reaction, such as elevated heart rate, elevated blood pressure, accelerate pulse or chest pain.
Another relevant questions is, what is in the energy drink?
Even a natural herbal product could interact with a medication and may aggravate the side effects, especially if it contains caffeine or herbs that stimulate your energy and metabolism.

Here's a suggestion: instead of popping a pill, how about you DIET and EXERCISE? I take Adderall IR, XR, and guess what? The weight loss it causes is TEMPORARY. All it is doing is suppressing your appetite, and in turn, your body pulls energy FIRST by burning off any muscle, then using existing fat (blubber). When you stop taking Adderall, your body's metabolism crashes and weight gain accelerates.
