Cyproheptadine Usage For 4.5 Year Old Child
UpdatedOur 4.5 year old granddaughter is visiting and she came with Cyproheptadine 2MG/5ML Syrup. She has nightmares and anxiety at bed time. Takes a 10ML dose every night. Is this okay? It is a prescription by a doctor.

If her doctor has prescribed it, it should be given as instructed. It is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergic reactions, as well as anxiety and insomnia, due to its sedative like effects.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness, and dry mouth.
How is she doing on it?
