Cyclobenzaprine Hcl (10 Mg).
UpdatedDoc has me on Cyclobenzaprine HCl (10 mg). 1 every 8 hrs as needed for back pain. These are very effective for the pain but make me VERY sleepy. I have read positive reviews on Soma. Does Soma have the same drowsy effect or can they be taken during the daytime

Both Clyclobenzaprine and Soma, which contains Carisoprodol, are muscle relaxants and can cause drowsiness as a side effect.
How long have you been taking it?
Most side effects usually hit their peak around 4 to 6 weeks of use, once the medication reaches its full effectiveness in the body, and they will taper off in severity, after that.
However, if you have been taking it longer than that and are still having such severe problems with the drowsiness, then you should definitely discuss it with your doctor.

Is there anything else I can help with?
