Cyclobenzaprine 5mg & Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride Usp 10mg

Good evening. The Dr. has had me on cyclobenzaprine 5mg LEG 3 times a day for several years. I just went to get my refill and was given cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride USP 10 mg instead of the tabs I have been taking. My RX hasn't changed so I was wondering if I had been given the wrong RX or if it is the same with the same side effects. I can take the benzapr 5mg. without any problems but am afraid of taking the benzaprine 10 mg. The Pharmacy not only gave me this RX i was not prescribed for, they put it from a totally different dr. that has been giving my prescriptions for benzapr. PLEASE tell me what to do...? Thank you so much for your time.

Benzaprine and Cyclobenzaprine are the same medication, Benzaprine is just a name brand for Cyclobenzaprine, so it could be that your doctor just decided to consolidate your medication, but only the doctor or your pharmacist can say for sure.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache.

Have you checked with the pharmacy?
