Corex Cough Syrup Long Term Addiction

Hello, I am addicted to Corex cough syrup since last 13/14 years.on month of january 11 i have suddenly get abnormanal fits/seizer in my left hand only then after consult with our family doctor(M D), i have taken Clonafit Plus but after 2 month taking it regularly have stopped it without any consult, then i have attacked again so i consult with a Neurologist, and he recommend me to take Zenoxa 300, with Rejunex Plus. but again i consult with the same doctor with previous doctor's prescription then he again prescribed me to take Zenoxa 300 with Clonafit Plus with Rejunex Plus. and now i feel some better but i want to know is my disease is fully cureable ?

Corex contains Chlorpheniramine and Codeine, the Codeine is a narcotic.

I am afraid that it is going to be difficult to say whether or not your problem can be resolved or if it will be permanent and the supplements and medications can just stave off the symptoms.

Anytime you use a medication long-term, especially if you are abusing it, you run the risk of developing serious medical issues.



Zenoxa contains the active ingredient Oxcarbazepine, it is an anticonvulsant that can also be used as a mood stabilizer.

It may cause side effects, like: nausea, dizziness, double vision and headaches.



Rejunex Plus is a nutritional supplement, that contains some essential B Vitamins that are believed to help with nerve problems.



Clonafit contains the active ingredient Diazepam, it is a Benzodiazepine, which can be used to treat some nervous disorders.

Its side effects can include: nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

I'm rajkumar addicted to corex cough syrup since last 17 yrs, previously I was taking 5 bottles in a day but now I've reduced the volume, currently my dose is 2 bott in a day. I want to overcome from this addiction but don't want to admit in rehabilitation center. Please suggest the medicines to recover from this bad habits. Please help.

I've been taking corex syrup regularly since 1998, 2 to 3 bottles of 100 ml per day, but its banned now by the government. One day I did not use it and I suffered from: Headache, confusion, loose motion, sleepiness, vomiting, continuous cough, red eyes, dropping water in eyes, hypertension, body pain, urine dropping, unable to command body parts. Please help me.

i have had also addicted to corex and per day consume 7 bottels 100ml, but when my family members concern about it than i decided to leave it ,there are only one way to come out is that you should consume 10 to 15 cups of tea regularly three months and use tobbaco ,i promise you would leave corex permanently.

you have not a big problem sir i was consuming approx 8 bottel per day and nowadays i have leave this bad habit by self decision , i have one trick that you leave it you should take alternate i mean take tea daily 8times. and another things like rajnigandha,tobacco any one of them i promise you would leave it .

Friends, I am getting my PhD in Psychometrics...and finished MD in Naturopathy...Corex Syrup Addiction is not a big issue, just relax your mind and body with Meditation and Yoga as this syrup being a suppressant it depresses NTS ie., Medulla in brain..so when your brain triggers medulla for suppressing, you tempt for corex...but if u meditate, it will automatically suppress the medulla urge (positively but not with cough syrup) so your brain, Mind temptation will get down...so you hate this suppressant (corex), but try Mantra Meditation as its more powerful especially if u do yoga with it... Friend, this habit wouldn't do anything and just stop fearing on this addiction.... anyway past i was in Pfizer only and they are going to stop the manufacturing max to max Nov 2016 and even no alternative also can be produced under the medicine legal act...just try to have some goyya juice and Hot water mixed with honey during sleeping time....will feel good...

Bro better but afeem, I used the drink 4-5 sheeshi daily. Then I started Corex + Carisoprodol and then finally progressed to Corex + Nitrosunn. I'm the end I decided to leave and for that afeem is the best solution. May you be also able to leave your addiction

I was taking 3 to 4 bottles per day for the last 3 years. Now a days, I am free from this bad habit, and feeling very fresh. I use Utratab as a pain killer, Etilam 0.5mg for a mood stabilizer and Tritin 0.5.

I was drinking corex cough syrup continuously for about 8 years, 6 to 7 bottles everyday. My hands and body use to shiver a lot; after a high dosage i was unable to write anything on paper. It was the worst condition but fortunately now its been 3 years since i have stopped drinking cough syrup, but the problem is - still sometimes i feel like i will get tremors and shivering in my body. I dont shiver but psychologically it comes to my mind that i will shiver, so bcuz of that i feel nervous to stand still for long. For e.g., in a bank line waiting for my number. I have discussed this problem with many doctors but nothing worked out and now i feel distressed and sad. I'm very helpless and dont know what to do. Please for God sake help me someone... Plz give me some advice or something.

I have been addicted to corex for 6 years and it all started when I was trying to get rid of my addiction of spasmo proxyvon. Now I'm taking a bottle of corex everyday and smoke marijuana whenever taking corex. I'm living by myself in an apartment for the last five years as I don't want my family to know about my addiction. I want to start over again but find it very hard to face reality as I have wasted 15 years to addiction and did not even complete my college or ever had the ambition to be or do anything. Right now I'm doing nothing but sleeping, eating twice a day and taking a bottle of corex everyday. I'm 33 and want to have a family and work hard.

Go somewhere where u have relatives and stay 5-6 days there, and see the result. I am sure u will leave this bad habit.

Those who really want to quit follow my steps. thrice i got into addiction of three different items and thrice i quit by following these methods:

1) mark a day from when u want stop ....preferably if u are working continuous holidays of more than four; if u r not working then no worry...

2) Before the day u want to quit u do what ever u want to quit....coz mentally u r over awed and physically it makes u sleep for more then a day. that means u haven't done it for one day.

3) Now the 2 & 3rd day will be the hardest of all because physically ur body has to prepare for the withdrawal and mentally u need to fill the gap of the stuff u usually fill ur mind with....

4) Do not go out of ur house because when u go out u will search for the stuff. instead never get out of ur bedroom....

5) Every forced withdrawal will have some sort of stomach issues such as diarrhea, vomiting ....Eat only fruits and drink juice or drink glucose. Another thing is keeping ur mind away from going into that .....to quit my first i bought a psp and kept on playing games and for my second i bought a super bike coz i love driving so to drive a super bike which can go up to 240 km/h u have to be clean else u will be dead ....Create a situation like this because if u are not clean u will loose something valuable.

For my third i went into a good hotel which offers 24 hour services and locked myself in there for four days continuously watching tv or surfing the net they provide...

In the fourth day ur body will adjust to normal conditions though your mind will not....Insomnia is a most important problem to overcome. To overcome that do what u like most till to feel sleepy. It will also help to distract ur mind away from the drug... If u didn't touch it for one week then it means u have succeeded 50%. To achieve the 100% u have to stay that way for three months then u are free....Sometimes i will achieve 50 but fail to reach 100%. the road to victory cannot be in the first time. sometimes it will take 2, 3, 4, even 5 attempts.... As the number of attempts increase a new confidence will come to u that u can get rid of the drugs.

Stay clean, do not go for an alternative or eventually u will be addicted to that...the chance is 100% u will be addicted to that....coz our brain is conditioned that way once we got addicted..

Hello everyone...... Ms. hema let me tell you that you need not worry and don't panic .... The more you panic and feel depressed, the more you'll go deeper with this habit.. we have many ways to tackle this addiction..... Even I was like you only some years before, but now I'm a changing personality and character....
