Confused With 11yr Add On Intuniv

I have been having a hard time to find the right meds for my 11 yr old for ADD. Hes on his 5th med which is now Intuniv. He is always thristy and kinda grumpy. He's only been on this med. for almost 2 wks. Is this normal? Are things going to get better? I just get confused wondering if its the right thing to do or not.

Intuniv contains the active ingredient Guanfacine, it is commonly used to treat ADHD and can help lower blood pressure.

That said, yes, what you've mentioned are normal side effects of this medication.

The side effects should start to taper off as his body adjusts to the medication, this could take a month or more. If they don't and continue to be troublesome, you should speak with his doctor.

Have you talked to his doctor about your concerns?

Have you had your soon screened for diabetes.. If he is thristy all the time that his a side effect and it can make them grumpy.
