Concur Tablets - 2.5 Mg
UpdatedI am diabetic and have high blood pressure. For diabetes I am on Glucophage XR 500mg (3 tabs a day) and for high blood pressure I have been taking Approval 300mg. Recently my doctor reduced my Glucophage to 2 tabs a day, the Approval to 150mg and added Concur 2.5mg. I want to know why Concur as this is a beta drug and read that it will camoflouge my sugar levels. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Have you asked your doctor why he wants you to take this one?
Concor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, it is a beta blocker and, as such, it can mask some of the signs of low blood sugar, such as accelerated heart rate, since it can slow the heart rate.
This doesn't mean that diabetics can't take it, but you should be aware of this, so you know to check your sugar level regularly and watch for other signs that may show that you have low sugar levels, such as dizziness and nausea.

That might be why your doctor lowered your dose of Glucophage, to try to prevent you from experiencing low blood sugars.
