Coming Off Suboxone
UpdatedI broke my neck and my back when I was 29. Never used drugs, I didn't drink or anything, then they sent me to a pain clinic and they never told me it was addictive. I got addicted to it real bad. I have 2 kids. I never neglected them except for showing them my time. I got to the point that I can deal with addiction and more so I wanted a different life. I was on Suboxone for 3 years now and it made my life ten times better. I was able to be the parent that I needed to be. Now I'm just scared that I'm not going to be able to bring myself off of these.

Hello, Samantha! How are you?
Actually, the great thing about Suboxone is that most people are able to successfully come off it and be completely drug free. It does require a slow taper, but that's why it is preferred over Methadone, now.
What dosage are you on? Have you tried asking your doctor for assistance with tapering off?
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
